Hi. I'm new to lakorns and i was just wondering if there's any lakorns that you can suggest? I really liked sood sai pan, rang ngao, leh Roy ruk.. Any suggestions on what else to watch that May be similar.? Thanks :)

Hi, Ryls23! :hiya: Welcome to Asianfuse. :welcome: Hope you will enjoy it here. :grouphug: I moved your topic to the Thai section...I may merge it with another similar topic, if necessary and whenever I get the chance. :D

Seems like you're into slap-and-kiss/revenge/dramatic lakorns? :) If you haven't seen them yet, like Xiongurl26 suggested, I recommend Sawan Biang (2008) with Ken Theeradeth and Anne Thongprasom, and—oh, I'll make a list. Easier to see.
  1. Sawan Biang (2008) - Ken Theeradeth & Anne Thongprasom
  2. Roy Leh Sanae Rai - Aom Phiyada & Tik Jesadaporn
  3. Fah Pieng Din - Aom Phiyada & Captain Phutanate
  4. Tard Ruk Taranong - Captain Phutanate & Pim Pimmada
  5. Jam Leuy Ruk (2008) - Aum/Um Atichart & Aff Taksaorn
Sawan Biang, Roy Leh Sanae Rai, and FAh Pieng Din are the ones I've watched "in details." The last two are very popular among Thai lakorn fans. :) Hope you enjoy them!

And whenever you get the chance, please read our forum rules by clicking this LINK or the following link:

Well, welcome! You could try watching anything like Kaew Lom Phet, anything with View. Or anything with Great, you should try watching Samee, both versions too. :)

My recommendations (not sure if there's Eng sub available anymore):

Kaew Tah Pee with Tik Jesdaporn and Cherry Khemupsorn
Wanida (2010) with Tik Jesdaporn and Aff Taksaorn

I also recommend you to watch Bie's lakorns. I haven't seen Khu Kham (which is so famous), but I liked almost all of his lakorns that I've seen. This guy is really good, he didn't play the same role in any of his lakorns, as far as I remember.

Sawan Biang is actually could be either turn on or turn off for a lakorn newbie lol. IMO if the newbies like "rape is a romance", they'll accept this kind of lakorn and start watching the other lakorns.

But for me, if that was my very first lakorn, I guarantee I would never watch any lakorns again lol. That lakorn was controversial for me. It came off to 'strong' for me. I can't never accept a guy who raped me multiple times. -.-

if you are looking for a more new lakorn to watch you should definitely try watching

Thong Neua Kao (Por / Noon)
Samee 2013 (Great / Preem)
Majurat See Nampeung (Ken / Namtarn)
Raeng Ngao (Ken P / Janie)

for older lakorns try:

Sawan Being (Ken / Ann)
Jumloey Ruk (Aum / Aff)
Oum Ruk (Ken / Ann)

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to Thai dramas, so don't know about them at all, but for the past few weeks I've been wracking my brains over this one lakorn (not even sure if I can call it that), and I just need to know its title so I can watch it somewhere. I have a link to this vine user's page where he's posting clips of it (dubbing them with funny dialogues), and I've tried searching via reverse Google image search, learning Thai letters to read what's written on the screenshot and just generally Googling with every possible keyword I could think of, but no luck. All I could figure out was that it was Thai and there was gender swapping. So I thought I'd ask you guys, since you might just know what movie or TV series this is:

(5 random clips. You can find more on his page)

You won't be able to find it because it's not a Thai lakorn. It's actually a Cambodian comedy movie. Thai and Cambodian letters are similar looking for those who cannot read, but those who can read them know that they're not written or read the same way. The links to the movie are hidden in the spoiler's tag. I doubt you'll be able to find subs for it because people don't usually sub Khmer movies since they're not popular.

Hey guys! I am such a lakorn addict, but lately I've been having trouble finding an interesting one. I've seen so many dramas with Nadech, Yaya, Kim, Mark, Mint, and the rest. So, I want to try something new. Yet, I don't know where to start. I've tried so hard to find a decent ch7 lakorn or a ch5 lakorn, but I haven't had any luck. I don't mind a good ch3 lakorn though. :ghehe:
For you to get some ideas, here are some recent lakorns I cannot get enough of.

Ch 3:
Lom Sorn Ruk (Nadech, Taew, Patricia)
Panya Chon Kon Krua (Mark, Kim)
Ruk Ok Rit (Pope, Mew)
Cubic (Mint, Bomb)

Thank you!

Seems like you're into the light romantic comedies. HEHE. Let me recommend you Nang Rai Sai Lap (Peter C. & Margie R.). It's a light romantic comedy with a touch of action.

Actually, Thai and Khmer vowels and consonants are somewhat similar as they're all originated from Sansakrit. Granted, you can't read one if you know the other but the formulation of words and sentence structures are the same so if you wanted to learn both, it wouldn't be that hard.

Khmer movies don't provide subtitles because they don't really gear towards an International audience. There's only been a few number of them that have subtitles, particularly the more newer ones from Angkorwat production and some that were produced by a friend of mine in Seattle. Kinneko -- If you want translations on any particular scenes of the movie or what to know what is written on screen, feel free to let me know and I'll be more than happy to help.
