Comments (1)SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Federal prosecutors are seeking to drop all remaining charges against 12 defendants accused of plotting to overthrow the Communist government of Laos.

The U.S. attorney's office in Sacramento filed a motion to drop the charges Monday "in the interest of justice."

The move follows the death of Hmong leader and Vietnam War-era Gen. Vang Pao last week. Vang Pao was dropped from the case in 2009.

The decision comes after a federal judge in November dismissed key parts of the case against the 11 members of the Hmong community and a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel. That included the government's charge that the men violated the federal Neutrality Act.

This is no surprise, such a useless case and waster of tax payer money.

The government waste our tax payer for this nonsense case. They should have spend these millions of dollar to boost up the economy instead. Also this case was planned by the U.S. government to make their trade with the Laotion government more smoother. So now the general is gone, they feel that there's no need for playing a favor anymore. How sad the U.S. government treat us like dirt. I feel sorry for the general and the 11 citizens. They waste lot of money to for attorneys and we citizens for paying tax for this case.

Hope that this case will teach us a lesson so our younger sons and daugthers will study hard, understand the politics more and love each more because other will not love us like we love our Hmong. They instead will use us to give them what they want.

May the Hmong learn from this hard lessons.
