Channel 7 big project. It is a remake of a very popular lakorn of channel 5. Has been in the talks for a while. I believe Aum P just recently confirmed that she will be in a big project. Several entertainment news has confirmed that it is this project. Beside Aum, Yui, and Jaakajan, are said to be confirmed. Thissa is rumored to be cast among the new generation.

Anyone with articles and links please feel free to add :)

Cast (thanks to rockateur for providing info)
Aum as Jao Nang Ananthip
Yui as Jao Nang Sekkratevi
Jaakajan as Jao Nang Thongnuan
Kelly as Jao Meung Koom

Thanks for making this thread Ncmeowmeow35! Kantana will be producing this one and the director is P'Ott Teerasak. I don't know if Pok is officially confirmed but everyone else including Kelly are confirmed by Khun Tukta. Khun Phokar gave clues on the younger generation but they're still waiting for everyone to clear their queues. Here's the source where she first confirmed Aum Patchrapa which made Pantip literally go crazy with excitement. This lakorn may not be popular or even known amongst International fans but this is a well-loved classic of the Thai viewers that garnered the highest ratings for Channel 5 and many awards during that time.

For those who aren't familiar with this lakorn, it's basically a retelling of the last Burma kingdom. The character that Aum is portraying, Jao Nang Anuthip is based off Queen Hsinbyumashin who schemed her way into obtaining the throne. It's not entirely accurate but most of the essential aspects were included in the lakorn version.

Personally, I enjoyed this lakorn because I'm a fan of history in general and I thought the acting was solid, particularly from the two main lead actresses which were Mew Chamaiporn and Preeyanuch. The dialogues and overall script was well written as it incorporated good metaphors and morals. I kinda wish Kob would have accepted this lakorn since she was the original first choice for Jao Nang Sekkratevi and Nune was also contacted 4-5 years ago (the script was written around 2008 and they started proposing the remake since then but didn't get finalized until now lol) but in the end, the role went to Yui. Even Aum said that she regrets not getting the chance to reunite with her good friend. Imagine a lakorn with all the Dtua Mae's of Channel 7, that would have been pretty epic. Anyways, I'll be back to provide a summary. I'll probably re-watch the older version to make sure everything is accurate lol.

I figured Aum would play Jao Nang Ananthip. I don't know if she can do it though, at least not with her lack of passion lately. The original cast was Oscar worthy. They were perfect in every way. If Pok is in this, she would probably play Prataywee Naw Jao. I'm wondering who is going to play Jao Nang Thong Nuan and Rim Beung. If Thissa is in this, I hope she plays ThongPraya.

Considering that Aum was actually good during her primetime especially in Rak Nakara, Kom Payabaht, Plerng Payu and So Sanaeha, it gives me some little hope that she can do this character justice. She shall feel pressured to do her very best in such a classical piece because she's surrounded by many good actresses who have the potential to steal her spotlight if she doesn't measure up to them lol.

Based on Khun Phokor's hints ThongPaya is someone who has recently been casted as a n'rai but has returned to play a good nang aek while Reum Beung is a very beautiful and capable actress. So vague na. People on Pantip are cheering for Preaw and Now but I don't think they have the queues for this. If they can get Preaw, I think she can pull off the role of Pinmanee.

Btw, not sure if you got my last PM. I think a lot of the messages were deleted due to the reformatting/organizing of the forum.

I would love to see Now as ThongPraya. I don't know who Preaw is so can't comment on that lol. My cousin said Aum has a huge ego so she may think she's doing great. We'll see.

No i don't think I got your last pm.

Aum does have come off as having a huge ego but yes, we shall see how she does lol. This is Preaw. She was in the newer version of Dome Thong and Kom Payabaht. I think she's a pretty good actress who can pull off a variety of roles so she's a good candidate for the younger generation. Fans on Pantip want her playing as one of Aum's daughter because they think she looks like Aum. As for Now, I'm a fan of hers so if she can get any role in this lakorn, I'd happy regardless. Other considerable suggestions for me are Pooklook and Bo Thunyasupan.

I love Pooklook but she doesn't fit the look I don't think. I remember reading a bit about the last queen of burma, she was pure evil. She basically single handedly killed the whole royal family except for her daughters and the last king.

I'm not a big fan of Aum anymore but I am excited to see who are all in this.

Yeah and she made the matchmaking of Kangxi's emperor childplay. She married of her daughters to the king and made him her puppet. And her daughter was not less than her. Though I Seriously doubt it was her who made the nation fell. The last king was useless.

Both Queen Hsinbyumashin and her daughter who was the last queen of Burma were pure evil. The queen killed anybody who crossed her without any remorse while the daughter stole her sister's fiancé and took the throne even though she claims to be innocent.

It's said that Preaw will also be part of the second generation and based off the clues above, she's playing Thongpraya and Thissa is likely playing Pinmanee.

Aww I was hoping Thissa would be ThongPaya. I can't see Yui as Sekkratevi because she was beautiful, elegant, and classy. I love Yui's acting but I just can't see her as elegant. I think it might be because Preeyanuch did such a great job and she looks like a queen. Man Nune would had been perfect.

I am interesting in the history mentioned above. I should try to find some reading material:) Is this lakorn based on real history or just certain characters are based on real history?

I think it's loosely based. The historical stuffs are interesting. I admit I've been into eastern history than west. They're more juicy. While thai were busy cooperating with English, the others like Burmese and India are busy fighting them off. A lot can tell from their way of handling diplomatic affairs.

Wow, such dense history involved. Not my type of lakorn but you all seem very into this. Lol. Even the spellings of the character's names are on point. I can't even pronounce them.

sarNie Granny
@lol ( name on point ) ^^ its true , the east history is more juicy then the west!! I don't remember much about the lakorn b/c there wasn't any romance in it .

Yes I find recent Easten history is more interesting than recent westens, especially those history in Royal family lol. I will tune in this one for the evil queen.lol XD
usually i dont watch period lakorn. but this one sounds interesting not mention Preaw may be in here.lol i like that girl and i hope she could play the rai daughter lol

I can never pronounce long thai names accurately. Except fews. Evil queen is evil and the king before the last, her husband has lots of offsprings like Kangxi that he hesitated to name the successor. His hesitation gave the evil queen to plot and kill.

I got interested in it because the old cast were a list of a list. I also like the eastern histories too, the only thing I hated was all the inbreeding. No wonder they are so fugly and mental.
