Because of her father's sudden death, Lee Soon-Shin (IU) and her mother fall in trouble. They both attempt to find happiness, while Lee Soon-Shin falls in love.
Meanwhile Shin Joon-Ho (Cho Jung-Seok) is the president of an entertainment management company. He is over confident, arrogant and cold-blooded. By meeting Lee Soon-Shin, he realizes the meaning of true success and also changes.
....
Jung-Ae (Ko Du-Shim) has three daughters: Hye-Shin (Son Tae-Young), Yoo-Shin (Yoo In-Na) and Soon-Shin (IU). Hye-Shin, the oldest daughter, married a competent man and has a daughter. She has just arrived back from Hong Kong with her daughter, but without her husband. Yoo-Shin, the middle daughter, looks down upon younger sister Soon-Shin. Meanwhile, Soon-Shin tries to hold a steady job, but keeps failing. She is adopted, but unaware of that fact.
One day, Soon-Shin gets a temporary part-time job at a hotel. If she does well she can get a permanent position. On the first day of her new job, Soon-Shin works with actress Song Mi-Ryung's (Lee Mi-Sook) photo book release event at the hotel. Joon-Ho (Jo Jung-Suk), who is the president of an entertainment company, attends the event. Joon-Ho meets his ex-girlfriend Yeon-A (Kim Yun-Seo) there, whom he still hasn't gotten over.
Soon-Shin and entertainment company president Joon-Ho then physically bump into each other. Joon-Ho becomes covered with the food that Soon-Shin was serving. He becomes so angry that he asks the hotel manager to fire Soon-Shin, even though she begs him not to.
On the way home, Soon-Shin meets a man who introduces himself as a president of an entertainment company. He tells Soon-Shin that she has the looks to become a talent and gives her his name card. Soon-Shin goes back home excited. Her mother has prepared a festive dinner to celebrate Hye-Shin's return from Hong Kong. During dinner, Soon-Shin tells everyone that she was scouted on the street, but middle sister Yoo-Shin again acts condescending towards her. Soon-Shin bursts into anger. Even though her family laughs at her and thinks it's ridiculous, her mother Jung-Ae thinks differently.

I noticed there isn't a topic made for this drama so I went ahead and created one for it

I've seen a mv of this drama last year but didn't take any interest in it since I didn't find the main guy attractive and he looked way much older than IU. Like many other dramas, I passed up on it to find myself staying up two straight nights watching it lol

Right before I even started the drama, I thought Cho Jung Suk looked similar to Lee Ji-Hoon and baaaam, turns out Lee Ji-Hoon is also in here hahaha I found that completely mind blowing because I thought about their similarities and JH ended also being in this drama. However after seeing them beside each other, they look nothing alike. lol JS isn't the most attractive actor but he kinda grew on me after 20 episodes especially when he finally got a new hairstyle! His acting reminds me of the actor who played as "Roman Lee" from Hotel King. Ughhh and you all may know how much I've disliked that actor's acting so I cringed sometimes when I watch JS lol  :weee:  :weee: As for Lee Ji-Hoon, he looks extra handsome as the caring/thoughtful/sweet friend of JS and I love his character in here excluding his weird/XMAS sense of style lol

And now on to my girl crush IU. Woooooow, she amazes me in here with her acting. My sisters always talked about IU but I never bothered to look her up until I watched "Bel Ami." Her character "Bo-Tong" was quirky and kind of similar to "Lee Soon-Shin," only in terms of them being no use to their family because they're not good at anything they do. However, comparing both characters, I would have to say "Lee Soon-Shin," is IU's best and strongest role yet. In each episode, I am enjoying watching her grow as a woman as she discovers herself and her talents.

Since this is a family drama, there is bound to have many family problems and side stories and yada yada yada   so truthfully speaking, I did a lot of FF. I like JH and IU scenes more and even wish that they were the leads instead but i guess, JS and IU are okay together  lol

Ah, yes. The only Kdrama that catches my attention ever since 2009. I swear I cried with Lee Soon Shin several times. IU is so good; she has perfection. I should go back and rewatch it someday!
