Learn Thai - Easy words and simple sentences

Step

Mrs James Ma
I will post easy Thai words and sentences I know for non Thai fans. Learning new language is fun. I learned to understand Hindi (Idk to read and write) by watching Bollywood movies for more than 15 years. My mom is crazy fan of all 3 Khans so it was easy for me to learn. Im a huge fan of SRK, Shahid Kapur and Deepika Padukone.
If anybody knows Thai they can also post here.

We hear Ka and Krap in lakorns. They are words used in a sentence ending. Its a polite word in Thai. Ka is used by females and Krap is used by males.

Since we watch lakorns, we should know characters in there. I will take example of Nadech and Kim's Rang Pratana cos it has both male and female villain to give example :)

Lakorn - Drama (Rang Pratana)

Nang Ek (or N'ek) - Female main lead (Kimberley)

Pra ek (or P'ek) - Male main lead (Nadech)

Nang Rai (or n'rai) - Female villain (Mint N)

Pra rai (P'rai) - Male villain. (Alex)

Pra'Nang - are the lead couple in lakorn. Kim and Nadech in RP.

N'Step! The most important phrase in Lakorns! Chun Ruk Tur - I love you. Or as kobori would say "pom Ruk khun". Haha. I'm not sure but "Plao" seems to mean "no" or "not". My favorite Thai song is Namm Ronadet's "Tur ju ruk chun reu plao mai roo" i'm sure I messed that up, but it means "do you love me or not, I don't know" so I think "I don't know" is "mai roo"

If chun is used by girls how come I hear boys saying it when they're confessing their loves in lakorns? I've never heard any guys saying Pom ruk khun/tur, only chun ruk tur. I'm not Thai at all so I don't get it. Hope you can answer for me! Also do Thai people talk in 3rd person point of view or 1st person point of view? I hear in movies the main characters saying their own name while talking about themselves, but then sometimes they are saying Chun.

Actually there is a more complicated explanation for "Chun" which P'Mayji explained to me. Sorry I just can't remember it right now. But it's something like guys can't use chun unless they have ascendancy over the person they are talking to, so usually the guy would use chun in Lakorns when he is already looking at the girl as a love interest (as in he'll be able to assert his ascendancy without her getting offended) or guys refer to themselves as "chun" with guys they are close to or else they will come off as arrogant. Something like that.
