Lol, that was me years ago. As I ventured out to the higher end products, I got sucked in! I don't buy things for packaging or keepsake, but I buy what I know I'll love, wear over time and can keep for a looooooooooooooooooong time, too. lol :)

I have splurged a lot in the past, but have limited myself down to just the necesseties or wait until the BIG sale. lol :)

That makes sense. I'd rather invest in something good than go for whatever just because it's cheaper. Sometimes you have to see what's best for your own skin type. And expensive doesn't always mean better either. It's different for everyone. Sales are AWESOME! I love them! lol Esp. Makeup sales.

Favorite Makeup Brands:

High End: Urban Decay, Too Faced and Nars
Drugstore: Revlon, Maybelline and L'oreal

Skincare: I really like Origins and Shiseido. I don't really use any drugstore skin care products because I have sensitive skin and a lot of the products I've tried over the years has either broke me out, irritated my skin or made me extremely oily when I'm already someone with oily, dehydrated skin. I've had much better experiences with higher end brands so I'm willing to pay the extra money to keep my face oil-free and clear of breakouts.

Hair Care Products: Dove Pure Dry Care Oil Shampoo & Conditioner, Moroccanoil Treatment, Macadamia Deep Repair Masque

Makeup Brushes: Sigma and Real Techniques. Real Techniques can be found at Ulta and their brushes are great quality, especially for their price. I've had no issues with shedding or anything with the ones that I have and I don't necessarily take the best care of them. With the exception of their concealer brush from the 4 piece set, all the other brushes are soft and feel comfortable on the skin. Sigma is more on the affordable side of the spectrum compared to higher end brands but still somewhat pricy. If you're willing to spend a little extra, I would recommend getting one of their brush sets or even their Sigmax line as they have great foundation and concealer brushes.

@rockateur, Same here, I don't use that many skincare products. Everything bothers my skin. I get milia on my eyes when a product has too  much oil. It sucks. I have been eyeing RT brushes for a while but I haven't invested in them yet. I want the expert face brush and the powder brush because I've heard good reviews on them.

@ncmeow, I won't even try to calculate what I spend. 5555 It's not even much honestly, because I haven't tried high-end stuff all that much. But just thinking of what I have spent over the years, Oh boy! I started wearing makeup pretty young. I know that's a bad thing, but I was a traditional dancer so I had to put on makeup. It just stuck with me. As soon as I was able to, I started putting on my own makeup though. The teachers use to make us look horrible with bright red cheeks and glossy red lips with blue eyeshadow. 5555

@byebye, Let me know how that works! I've tried Paul Mitchell before but I can't remember which one. All I know was there was shampoo that made my scalp tingle when I washed my hair. It was the coolest thing ever. 5555

Thought about using it tonight but got lazy and too tired...so gonna try it tomorrow morning lol. Did I say $2....I wished it was that cheap. It was $25 for the darn conditioner.

Lol! I was reading that at $2 I was like.... daaaang, maybe I need to go buy it too. Thought you got it on sale or something.

I try to wash my hair every other day. If I get lazy then I use an extra day off. If I go longer my scalp will itch like crazy. When I was growing out my hair 4-5 years ago, I use to wash once a week. Glad I'm not in that phase anymore, lol

I washed my hair twice a day. I don't have a choice. I tried washing once a day and I could not sleep because I was itching like crazy. After a week of barely sleeping I finally went back to washing twice daily. Last night I was scratching my head too but it wasn't bad because sleep got the best of me.

You might want to consult a professional about your hair condition. It sounds like it's a bigger issue than just dry scalp. I know that normally, washing your hair every day isn't good for your hair because it strips it of naturals oils which makes it try to produce more. In turn you have flaky scalp, like dandruff. You're washing your hair twice a day, I think it's drying your hair a lot and it's what's causing your scalp to react.

I agreed . Goes to a specialist! My old boss was the same & was losing hair like crazy but after she got it treat & use prescription med shampoo , her hair is growing back. I wash my hair 2 or 3 x a week but shower 2 or 3 x a day loll idk, I just love to soak in water. If you take vitamin your hair/nail grown fast , I notice it , I take those fruity taste muilt-vitamin 2 x a day ^^^ I eat & use aloe gel too since I was in HS. I drink herb green tea for years even when I was living over sea , those herb are good for health reason . I'm the oldest out of 4 but ppl think my younger sisters is the oldest , due to my tan complexion ^^^ change in diet can improve your health & beauty . I have so much hair I went to get laser hair removal HAHAHA

I think the major problem for me is coloring it too much. No matter how great a hair a person has if they color it 4Xs a month it bounds to get damaged. My hair is healthy on the root cause it's growing out.

The Paul Mitchell conditioner works good because it makes my hair soft like a baby lol

then stop coloring , ok, you need to come work w/ me then , take your mind away from hair dye by siting around and watch half naked man get tattoo loll

Lol @sarN & @byebye

byebye, If your hair is brittle you should trim it every month just to get rid of the damage hair while the "new hair" is growing out. I've never dyed my hair but it does get splits ends. I trim every other month to keep it from being damaged. It's a hassle to be a woman sometimes, we don't try to look perfect but we at least want to have nice hair, good skin and healthy bodies. the process of achieving these things are a drag, lol

Lol...my hair is a pixie right now, if I trim or cut any more I won't have any more hair. That's why I am letting grow out. I started to color my hair since I started middle school so it has been 20+ years.

I have bleach, perm and color over and over. I am going to leave my hair alone for a year and just give it a chance to grow back with grey hair and all.

Oh yeah, I remember you mentioning your pixie hair cut. I hope it grows out fast! I use coconut oil on my hair strands to keep it healthy. I also think it helps it grow faster. (Might different for others) I don't use it on my scalp directly though because it'll just be greasy and itchy.

I don't wear make up, nor do I know how to use them LOL I wouldn't even know how to hold the brush if you ask me to try putting make ups on.

I have been using Shiseido moisturizers/products ever since I start using anything on my face, until about 6 or 7 years ago I stop using their product because is getting too expensive for my pockets LOL I can't afford $80+... for a small bottle of cream.
I normally washes my face with plain water, but once or twice a week I used the Shiseido cleanser, but now I wash it with clean&clear still few times a week and plain water most of the time. For moisturizer I use $5 buck Olay complete, works just the same for me as expensive Shiseido moisturizer did.

For shampoo I use any brand as long as is for normal hairs, but I takes vitamins and biotin.

@Byebye try using aloe vera gel on your dry hairs, some peoples say it helps.  My cousin uses a mixture of honey and coconut oil and it works for her dry hairs.

I've tried using coconut oil for makeup removal but it broke me out. I already have oily skin. Especially my T-zone.

@Maya, I feel you on that. I cannot afford those high-end products right now. Lol My $5 Nivea Creme moisturizer works perfect. I have good decent skin because I don't really stay out in the sun too long. And I do keep my face clean. I love makeup but I only wear it occasionally.

TIP: Wash your face with face wash once a day instead of two times a day. This helps it produce natural oils. Constant use of face wash can strip your face of the oils you need which can cause acne breakouts and dry patches.
