The sound of the rain and thunder woke her up from her deep sleep. "What time is it?" She mutters and turn her head to look at the clock near her bed. 9am. The pounding in her head increased by the second. "Must be the double shot..." she groin. Last night after the delightful dinner with Tik, she needed a drink... badly. She attempted to call Dao but no luck. Her voicemail kept coming on. Still, she wasn't ready to go home yet and face her father. Aff had her driver take her to a bar. Thank god for a personal driver!! As she roll herself out of bed to go to the bathroom, a knock was heard.
"Miss, are you up yet?" said the maid.
Aff crack the door open slightly. "What is it?"
"Your father wants to see you in his office."
Right. He's waiting to hear about the deal. "Tell him I will be there in 30 min."
The maid left and Aff shut the door before reaching for the phone. She let out a deep breath because today is the start of her misery.

Mr. Taff waited anxiously at his desk until Aff appear in his doorway. "Aff, come in and close the door." She did and closed the door. "What the hell happen last night?" He lashed out.
"I--"
"You were pathetically drunk." Mr. Taff stared at his daughter firmly. "Don't tell me you were drinking with that bastard."
"No dad. I was not drinking with him." She hastily said. "Why didn't you tell us the company was in trouble?"
"I thought I could figure a way out."
"But you didn't and you knew it was Tik meeting me...didn't you?" No answer. "You could have told me before hand."
"I didn't think it was necessary. Why? Were you shock to see him? You shouldn't be. You're happily engaged."
Happy isn't the exact word with David. "Was Tik the only buyer?"
"Yea." He fumble with his pen. "Tell me what that bastard want with you."<BR style="mso-special-character: line-break"><BR style="mso-special-character: line-break">
"Can you please stop with the name calling?" She blurted out. "You need him to bail you out so therefore, he is your savior right now."
"Aff, I don't need you to lecture me." He raised his voice. "Just tell me what he needs from you to seal this deal." He point to a manila folder in front of him.
She swallow the lump in her throat. "He wants me to work for him for a year." She partially lied.
"Ha. That's it?" Mr. Taff chuckle. "I knew he would go easy on you." He chuckle some more. "Did you already agree?'
"Yes." She said softly. If he only knew she is going to be her ex-boyfriend mistress any moment now.
"Good." He lean against his chair and smile widely.
"I hope this will end the competition between you and Tik. You are no longer a casino owner. "
He stare at his daughter with delightful eyes. "I was never in competition with him darling."
She shakes her head knowing her father have always been a selfish man. "He's going to be here at noon with his lawyer."
"Thank you daughter. You saved me. You saved our family."
She smile slightly and leave the office to her room. Once inside the walls of her beloved room, she allows herself to crumble.

Tik arrived in front of Aff's house with his lawyer. The rain didn't damper his mood one bit. They were greeted by the maid and led to the formal dining room where Aff, Mr. Taff and their lawyer were waiting.
"Welcome." Said Mr. Taff. He extends his hand to shake Tik and his lawyer. Tik glance at Aff even though she paid him no mine.
"Shall we get down to business?" ask Tik.
"Absolutely." Mr. Taff replied excitedly.
After both lawyers review the legal documents, both parties signed acknowledging the sale and purchase with Tik paying Mr. Taff additional cash. Next was Aff contract. "You will need to sign this employee document accepting to be Mr. Tik employee for a year." Said his lawyer.
Aff looked at him then pick up the pen slowly. God, she could feel her hand becoming cold. Quickly she signed her name on the dotted line.
Tik grinned wickedly from ear to ear until he notices she still had her engagement ring on. What the hell?!
"Great." Tik lawyer exclaimed. "Everything is all set." Tik and Mr. Taff shake hand. "We will be on our way now."
"Have a safe ride. My maid will walk both of you out."
Tik smile and stare directly at Aff. "We will be waiting for you in the car."
"In the car? Aff..? What's going on here?"
"Can you please excuse us?" She waited for both men to leave the room. "I guess I forgot to mention that my employment starts now and I will be working oversea s."
"What?" Mr. Taff eyes widened. "Oversea?" What about David?"
"The engagement is off for...now." She held his hand. "I will call and write. Bye dad." She didn't wait to hear another word. Her luggage was waiting by the door. She bid the maids good bye and walk to the awaited car.
