Stolen Loan Money

So I went to skool at one point in my life... I didnt pass a class and financial aid told me i wasnt getting any money back because i failed a class... So i was like heck i dont care... 8 months down the line Stafford Loan told me they send 2 checks to me but i never saw them. It was a total 1500$. So i went back to financial aid and they said yeah they sent out 2 checks and one was cashed! I was like uh??? Got into a big fight with them and later i found out that my exroommate took my ID and cashed the check! I dont know how she managed to pass as ME! She dont even look like ME! Just say she was like a NARUTO WANA BE with BLONDE HAIR! I dont even have blonde hair and simply put it we dont even look alike watsoever! Dang I kill the one who cashed the check for her!
I want to take it to the police but my boss's freind who is a detective says i dont have a case to report. and I went to talk to the school and they say they get back to me in January 2 of 2008. I was like WHAT! SO PRETTY MUCH I LOST 1500$ AND I REALLY WANT THIS EXROOMMIE OF MY TO DESERVE SOME JAIL TIME FOR WAT SHE DONE TO ME IN THE PAST BUT I AINT A PERSON WHO THROW PEOPLE IN JAIL. SHE DONE SOME MAJOR BAD THINGS TO ME BUT I JUST NEVER CARED BECAUSE I AM JUST LIKE THAT! NOW IMA LIKE... WHAT CAN I DO SO SHE DESERVES HER PUNISHMENT BUT LIKE I SAID I DONT HAVE ENUF PROOF THAT ITS HER. I MEAN I LIVED WITH HER AND I KNOW HER WRITING AND ETC BUT I DONT HAVE PROOF. WHERE SHE CASHED THE CHECK THE PLACE SAID THEY ONLY SHOW ME IF ITS BECOMES LEGAL MATTER. WELL I DONT HAVE A CASE WITH THE POLICE OR SO I AM TOLD. WAT SHOULD I DO? AND LIKE THIS IS 8 MONTHS AGO AND THE STUPID SKOOL GET BACK TO ME IN 2008. DANG!

BTW I JUST FOUND OF OF THIS STOLEN LOAN MONEY 2 WEEKS AGO! WHEN MY MOM TOLD ME I OWED SO MUCH MONEY TO THE SCHOOL! I WAS LIKE I ONLY LOANED 500$!

This is one of "those" lesson in life that you learned the hard way.. Don't let it happen again.

:lol: hahhaha...sorrie i have some evil thoughts going thru my minds about this; i'm not laughing at u. so do u still live with this roomate? beeecaaaause, if u do, i'd suggest snooping around to get some of her personal information. say, enuf for u to access her bank account, and trail out to see if that $1500 actually went into her acct. now mind u, whatever evidence discovered illegally will be dismissed.

however, if u report this, they will be able to launch an investigation, and trace where that money was cashed, and actually look into who cashed it at that moment. every bank has a camera. but if she cashed it at a CASH&CHECK liqour store type of place, u might be screwed. and chances are, she may have cashed it at those places, because only there, are they lenient with ID checks, buuut, most of those places don't cash checks u to $1500, at least not that i know of.

well, if i find enuf energy to brainstorm truely evil thoughts on how to approach this issue and get her back for it, i may consider sharing, just don't hold me reliable :lol:

cuz really in a situation like this, blackmailing is really the key. because it's all up to her to confess.

I think that idea is totally good. You should give it a try. Wouldn't that Loan Money Company have information of where there checks were cashed.
Well I think you should give that idea a try. Cause last spring my brother ex wife stole $10,000 from my parents account and my sister went through her stuff that were in their bedroom and they found alot of information of how, when, where she stole it. Since she also stole my dad check book and went to use at the casino. She was caught and got arrested. So I think that you should give that idea a try. I don't know if you have anything or info on her, but hopefully you'll get her behind bar. Because those kind of people don't deserve living a free life while you're stuck with problems that was cause by them.

i think u have a very weak case, but it can certainly be tracked down to see who did it and where.

-the signature is probably signed as your name
-since ur license was stolen to cash it, ur license info was on there
-behind the check will have banking #s that will tell where the check was cashed, what bank, which branch, who was the teller and etc.
-or if it wasn't exactly cashed, but deposited into an account, u can find out where it went into with the loan provider [but likely it was cashed like u said]
-yes they do have cameras, but they are several feet away so it's pretty slim they'll be able to decipher who that silhouette of the girl is, and will think it might've been you but you are claiming it wasn't you so you don't have to pay that loan back

things u can do, retaliate, forget about it and see it as a lesson like timmy said.

Almost the same thing happened to this guy on another forum, but it was his refund check... :(
So he reported it and had another check made out to him. Loan is probably different though.
There's nothing that could really be done? :\ Man, stolen ID and stolen check...stupid teller.
You should find out who the heck the teller was too so they could get fired. You could probably contact the loan ppl? and tell them to get you a copy of the check that was cashed...it's just printed on paper so you'd see how it was signed.

Man, if it was me, and I could never get that money backkk I'd just blow up all her windows on her cars and slash her tires and key her car...and take the steering wheel. :p
