Superstar Dilemma - CH.7 [13NOV2013]

      Chapter One
What Lies Within

“One more! Big smile!”
Finally! Twenty-six year old, Krittachai Kaewiset let out a heavy sigh and shot a serious look at his younger brother, Thanawit Kaewiset. It is way past noon and Krittachai had just wasted six hours of his work time for this useless photo shoot.
“I shouldn’t have agreed to do this silly shoot with you,” said Krittachai to his brother as they are entering the make-up studio. Krittachai grabs a handful of tissues and starts to wipe the layers of make-up off of his face.
“Aow na, P’Krit,” said Thanawit, coolly. “Just think of it as helping out this little brother of yours in his career. Do you realize how long people have been waiting for this shoot? They want to see my handsome brother on the cover with me. I guarantee when this magazine is released, girls will swarm you!”
“I don’t have time to think of that nonsense,” said Krittachai, grabbing his clothes and entering the changing room. Seconds later, he reappeared from behind the curtains and bent down to wash his face in the sink while Thanawit carried on with the subject of women.
“Women don’t like workaholics,” Thanawit continued. “You have to give them some of your precious time too…
“Are you done yet?” asked Krittachai, dabbing the specks of water on his chin with a clean, white towel. “If so, I’m going back to work.” He tossed the soiled towel into Thanawit’s hands and made his way towards the door.
“Aow, P’Krit! Wait for me!” Thanawit called out. He threw the towel aside and ran after his brother but before Krittachai even opened the door, it swung inwards and in came Ratha, Thanawit’s manager.
“P’Ratha,” said Thanawit.
“Aow, Khun Krit, are you leaving now?” Ratha asked Krittachai.
“Krub,” replied Krittachai. “I have to return to work. Please excuse me.” He stepped aside past Ratha, opened the door, and left.
Ratha turned to Thanawit, who formed a slight smile.

By the time Krittachai got to the company, it was already 2 PM. “Damn it,” he muttered to himself after checking his watch. In the elevator, he used his keycard to access the executive floor and when it reached the 8th , Krittachai quickened his pace to his office.
“Khun Krit ka, Khun Krit!”
Krittachai stopped abruptly in his steps and turned halfway to face his secretary, Yaem. “Yes,” he said.
“Khun Narin is here,” she told him. “She has been waiting for over an hour.”
Krittachai had no clue who “Narin” might be but if the woman waited for over an hour, it must be extremely important. “Who’s Narin?” he blurted.
“Khun Narin said that she applied for the personal assistant position two weeks ago,” explained Yaem. “Today is her scheduled job interview.”
Of course! How could he have forgotten?! He remembered now that he met this poor, young woman two weeks ago in the streets. Krittachai was rushing to work when he nearly ran over her with his car. Fortunately, Narin suffered a few cuts and scrapes and while waiting in the hospital with her to get to those minor injuries taken care of, she had told him her pitiful life story. As soft-hearted as he was, Krittachai offered her a job, which brings her here today.
“Khun Krit ka. Khun Krit!”
Krittachai snapped back into reality after the flashback. “Krub,” he said.
Yaem gave him a weird expression and informed him that Narin was waiting in the lobby. “Call her up at once,” said Krittachai. He disappeared into his office and awaited Narin’s presence.

As expected, reporters swarmed Thanawit as he exited the photography studio. Escorted by his manager, Ratha, and another crew member, Thanawit safely got into the limo that was waiting for him outside at the entrance. He waited in the back seat of the vehicle while his manager answered the reporters questions outside his window.
“Ka, ka, Khun Thanawit is very tired ka,” Thanawit heard Ratha say. “As of right now, we cannot say anything ka. We’ll all just have to wait for the magazine to be released. Further information is pending.”
Thanawit rolled his eyes and extracted his cell phone from his pocket. Now that the photo shoot was done, he had to talk Krittachai into the interviewing part. Even though Thanawit knew that there was no way in hell Krittachai would agree to it, it was still worth a shot. At least he agreed to the photo shoot session.
“We must get your older brother to agree to this,” said Ratha, after getting into the car. “I’ve already agreed to SPICY Magazine about it so whatever you do, you must get your brother to agree to do the interview.”
“I know,” Thanawit nodded. He tried calling Krittachai again but to no avail. Krittachai’s phone was turned off.

Narin shifted nervously in her chair as Krittachai stares at her with a smile.
“No need to be nervous,” he said all of a sudden. “It’s not like we’re not familiar with each other.”
Narin did not say anything. She tried not to make eye contact with him because when she did, her heart pounded.
“Are your injuries all better?” Krittachai asked her.
“Ka,” she replied shyly. “Thank you ka.”
“Okay, this isn’t going to get us anywhere,” said Krittachai, standing up. He picked up the manila folder that she had brought and flipped through it. “Interesting,” he said, without looking up from the thin stack of papers. “You do know what your job specifications are right?”
“I do but not much ka,” replied Narin.
Krittachai gave a slight laugh. “I think you’re perfect to be my personal assistant but there is only one flaw. You’re too shy. This is a large company and this job requires for you to meet a lot of people so being shy isn’t going to help you. If you can work on that, then you’re hired.”
Narin’s eyes widened and she looked up at him with a bright, wide smile. “Really?!” she asked excitedly.
“Whoa,” said Krittachai, taken aback by the sudden change. “Yes, you’re hired.”
“Thank you so much ka!” exclaimed Narin. “When do I start?! Is tomorrow okay?!”
“Take it easy there!” said Krittachai, laughing. “You will begin next Monday.”
“Yay!” she exclaimed, jumping in the air.
“Man, you went from shy to wow,” said Krittachai. “It’s a good thing though. I like my employees to work with enthusiasm.”
“I guarantee you that I will not let you down,” said Narin. “I will give it my all to make this company infamous all throughout Thailand.”
“Dee maak,” said Krittachai, handing her the manila folder of her previous achievements.
Narin thanked him one last time before leaving the office. As she descended the elevator, an evil smile replaced the cheesy grin.

Yes! I cannot wait for the revenge to start! :D So, I'm assuming she faked her name to be Narin? I got pretty lost there with her two names and all. 555
Anyways, I'm liking where it is heading so far. :) Thanks for the update na!

Chapter Two
Agreeing to the Terms and Conditions

“Neung!”
Neung closed the door behind her and kicked off her red, four-inch pumps.
“What took you so long?! And, how did it go?!”
Neung ignored her best friend, Nattapol, and walked into the kitchen to pour herself a glass of cool water. It was much needed after spending hours at the most gruesome place on Earth. If it wasn’t necessary, Kaewiset Publishing Company would be last place she wanted to be.
“Neung!”
Neung put her glass of water down on the table and turned around to face Nattapol, who was anxiously awaiting to hear all about her interview.
“I got the job,” said Neung, finally.
Nattapol looked away to the side with an indecisive expression on his face.
“What’s wrong?” asked Neung. “Aren’t you happy? We can finally begin our plans of revenge upon those bastards.”
“I don’t know if I should be happy or worried,” replied Nattapol. “Kwang wouldn’t want you to do this. She won’t be very happy if she knows about it.”
“I don’t care,” said Neung. “Whoever messes with my sister will regret it. I will make that person’s life miserable so that it’s both impossible to live and die.”
“But Kwang…
“We don’t tell her about it,” said Neung. “You must promise me, Aie Nat. You must promise me that you won’t tell her about it, understand?”
After a moment of contemplation, Nattapol sighed and nodded.

“No, no and no!”
Thanawit followed his older brother closely at the heels as they walked up the staircase. Begging was always the way to go when Thanawit wanted something from Krittachai but this time, it was going to be extremely difficult because public interviews would probably be the last thing Krittachai wanted to be involved with.
“Please, P’Krit, please,” Thanawit continued to whine as they approached Krittachai’s bedroom door. Krittachai went inside and Thanawit followed. “P’Krit.”
“Enough Aie Wit,” said Krittachai, picking up a book. “No matter how much or how long you beg, I will not agree to this. That stupid photo shoot today is already more than enough.” Krittachai collapsed onto his loveseat in front of the bed and put his feet up.
“Na, na, na, P’Krit,” Thanawit begged. He kneeled down on the rug next to his brother and begin massaging Krittachai’s legs. “Na, P’Krit, na? I promise this is it. I won’t bother you again about stuff like this.”
Krittachai ignored him and read his book.
“Please,” said Thanawit as he worked his way down to Krittachai’s feet. “Come on, P’Krit, it’s not like this interview is a bad thing. People just want to get to know you more. You’re my brother and my fans want to know all about me, my family, you…
“Don’t you think that’s over-exposing?” asked Krittachai, putting down his book. “I don’t want the whole country to know about us. You’re the superstar, not me so there’s no reason for me to expose myself to the public.” He flipped to the next page in his book and continued to read.
“Toh, P’Krit, that’s because you’re the only family I have left,” replied Thanawit. “You don’t even have to provide too much information just enough for people to know you. Na, please, na, na, na?”
“Mai!” exclaimed Krittachai, without looking up from his book.
Thanawit stopped massaging and stood up before his brother. “Fine, then. If you don’t agree to this interview, I will tell the media and press…you’re gay!” Thanawit folded his arms and smiled an evil, sly smile.
“You wouldn’t dare,” said Krittachai, putting down his book and looking up at his cunning, little brother.
“And why wouldn’t I?” asked Thanawit. “You’ve never had a girlfriend anyways and you’ve never taken interest in stuff like that so why worry, right?”
“Aie Wit!” exclaimed Krittachai, jumping up from the loveseat. He tossed the book aside and glared at his younger brother.
“Are you mad?” asked Thanawit. “I was just speaking the truth.” He shrugged his shoulders and grinned at Krittachai.
“You, you… Krittachai pointed one finger at him and stared angrily through gritted teeth.
“Oh come on,” said Thanawit, tugging onto Krittachai’s left arm. “It won’t even take up an hour of your precious time but hey, if you don’t want to spare 30 minutes, it’s totally fine.”
“Fine,” said Krittachai, finally. “You win. I’ll do it.”
“Hey, you said it yourself,” Thanawit smiled. “I didn’t ask you this time; you volunteered.”
“Yeah,” said Krittachai.
“Yes!” exclaimed Thanawit, throwing his arms around his brother’s waist. “You’re the best!”
Krittachai rolled his eyes and waited for the moment to pass.

“Kwang.”
Nattapol closed the door behind him and walked up to the stretcher where Kwang was lying and had been lying on for the past week. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m fine,” she replied without looking at him.
“Great,” said Nattapol. “Look what I’ve brought you.” He held up the bag of food he had brought with him. “They’re all your favorites,” he said happily.
“I’m not hungry,” said Kwang.
Nattapol sighed and lowered the bag down. “Kwang, please don’t do this. Even though you’re not hungry, you must think about the baby in your belly. You may not be hungry but the baby is.”
Kwang turned to face Nattapol and slowly nodded.
“I’ll go set these foods on plates for you, na,” he smiled. “I’ll be right back.”
“Where’s P’Neung?” asked Kwang, suddenly just as Nattapol turned around.
“Neung…Neung
Nattapol hesitated and tried to think of a good lie. “No, no, I can’t lie,” he muttered under his breath.
“P’Nat,” said Kwang.
“Uhh…Neung went out to buy some office clothes for her new job,” he said finally.
“Job,” Kwang repeated. “P’Neung got a job? Since when?”
“The interview was yesterday ja,” replied Nattapol. “She’s officially hired but she doesn’t begin until Monday.”
“P’Neung got a job here,” said Kwang. “How about our shop back at home in Hua Hin? We must go back and look after the shop.”
“Toh Kwang, the income from that shop is very little,” said Nattapol. “It can’t pay for the medical bills.”
“I’m sorry,” said Kwang, in a remorseful tone. “It’s my fault that everyone has to go through this. I’m a burden for you and P’Neung.”
“Don’t say that,” said Nattapol. “I’m your friend and P’Neung is your sister. It is our job to take care of you. Plus…” Nattapol sighed. “This isn’t your fault. It’s that guy’s fault. A man who refuses to accept the responsibilities for his actions isn’t a man. You shouldn’t blame yourself.”
Kwang looked away to the other side and began to cry. This was all her fault. If she knew better, P’Nat and P’Neung wouldn’t have to worry so much about her. If she knew better, her baby wouldn’t be without a father.

“Geng maak.”
Ratha looked around carefully to make sure that no one was around and gave Thanawit the kiss that he had been awaiting. He curled his arms around her waist and passionately kissed her neck.
“Stop it,” said Ratha, putting one hand over his lips. “Not here or people will see us.”
Thanawit smiled and opened the door of their suite. Ratha pushed him in and closed the door.
“I have something for you,” said Ratha. “Close your eyes.”
Thanawit did as he was told and smiled. He thought that she would pull him against her chest but she didn’t.
“You can open now,” said Ratha.
Thanawit opened his eyes and before him, was a dazzling, brand new watch. “Khob khun, krub,” he said, pecking her on her left cheek.
“This is a little gift for getting your older brother to agree to the interview,” said Ratha.
“This sure was a difficult task for me because usually, my brother doesn’t agree to those kind of things,” began Thana. “Therefore, I think should deserve a bigger reward.”
He looked up and down at her sexy body and smiled. She then walked around behind him and took off his jacket. Thana’s heart pounded and when he couldn’t contain himself any longer, he grabbed her and began to kiss her passionately, starting from her neck down to her breasts, fulfilling his desires. He picked her up and carried her to the bedroom, where he instantly threw himself on her.

      Chapter Three
Strike One

As usual, Krittachai woke up at 8 AM, did a few stretches, showered and got dressed for work. Everyday was almost exactly the same except for the fact that some days, he had to deal with articles involving Thanawit.
After straightening his tie, Krittachai checked his watch and read "9:05 AM". There was still sufficient time for breakfast, which if Krittachai requested, was always coffee and toast.
"Good morning, Bpa Morn," Krittachai said to his nanny, who was also the Kaewisets most respected maid. All of the maids and servants in the house, including the driver, Boon, obeyed Bpa Morn, as she is the eldest in the household.
"Good morning ka, Khun Noo Krit," said Bpa Morn, with a smile. "Would you like coffee?"
"Krub," Krittachai replied. She walked away towards the kitchen and he went to sit down in his usual seat at the grand table. Krittachai grabbed the TV remote and flipped the channel to his favorite news station.
"Coffee, ka," said Bpa Morn, setting his breakfast on the table before him.
"Khob khun krub," said Krittachai. Without looking at the television screen, Krittachai grabbed his coffee and carefully took a sip.
"Breaking news this morninghot rising superstar, Thanawit Kaewiset has been involved in another scandal, this time involving a relationship with a woman outside of the biz. An unknown woman has come forward that actor, Thanawit, has impregnated and dumped her. For her own privacy and safety, this woman has requested to not publicize herself."
Bpa Morn turned to Krittachai, who nearly spat out his coffee. He angrily set the cup of coffee down and shut off the television. "AIE WIT!"
"Khun Noo ka, jai yen yen ka," said Bpa Morn, trying to calm him down. "Khun Noo Wit has probably been accused."
"THIS NEWS IS CLEAR AS GLASS AND IF YOU HEARD THE SAME THING I HEARD, ITS NOT AN ACCUSATION!" Krittachai bellowed. "I MUST FIND OUT WHO THAT WOMAN IS!
"

"WAKE UP! WAKE UP NOW!"
Thanawit opened his eyes and tossed aside the two pillows covering his face. In front of him at the foot of the bed was his manager, Ratha, who was dressed in a bathrobe and looking angry as ever. He smiled at her but the smile quickly faded when she stormed towards him.
"Khun, khun...ARRGHH!!!"
Ratha pressed harder around Thanawits neck but her strength was nothing compared to his. He pushed her away into the wall and panted heavily.
"Whats wrong with you?!" he asked angrily.
"Whats wrong?" she asks him back. "Ill tell you whats wrong!" She grabbed the TV remote off the nightstand and flipped to a news channel picturing a still of Thanawit.
"Hot rising superstar impregnates woman outside biz," reads Thanawit. "Hey! Mai jing!"
Before he could say anything else, Ratha had jumped on top of him and curled her hands around his neck. Again, Thanawit pushed her aside and stood up. The only article of clothing he had on were his striped blue boxers. Ratha grabbed the rest of his clothes and threw it at him.
"Get out!" she yelled.
"Wait a minute!" exclaimed Thanawit, setting his clothes aside. "That news isn't true! You must believe me! It isnt true at all!"
"I don't believe you!" Ratha yelled. "If it isnt true, who would dare come forward with information like this?!"
"I don't know but I'm telling you I am seeing no one else but you," said Thanawit, calmly. "You must believe me, okay?"
Ratha straightened her hair and took a deep breath. "Let me tell you something," she said, gasping for breath. "If I ever catch you cheating on me, I will kill both you and your lover. Don't think that you can hurt me and your life goes on smoothly because if you hurt me, you must receive a thousand more times the pain. You've been warned."
"What do you want me to do for you to believe me that these news aren't true?" asked Thanawit. "Someone is accusing me and you must help me find out who that woman is."
Ratha continued to glare at him with anger in her eyes.
"P' Ratha," said Thanawit. "You must help me clarify these news, na krub?" He slowly walked towards her and pulled her into his arms. "I promise you that you are my only, my first, and my last." He bent down and planted a kiss on her forehead.
She pushed him and away and raised one finger at him. "Don't you ever let me catch you cheating on me.
"

"Suits you right."
Neung smirked and turned off the TV just as Nattapol walks through the door with Kwang.
"Aow," she said, standing up from the sofa. She walked towards them and grabbed the bags from their hands. "You guys sure bought a lot of stuff."
"You seem very happy," said Kwang, who unlike Neung, wasn't content at all.
"Of course I'm happy," said Neung. I'm glad to see you home. Even though this isn't really our home, it will do us good for the next nine to ten months."
"I just don't understand why we can't just go back home in Hua Hin," said Kwang.
Neung looked at Nattapol, who looks at Kwang.
"Because the city hospital is much better than the ones back at our home," replied Nattapol.
"Chai," agreed Neung. "Plus, I have to get a job here so we can pay medical bills and prepare to take care of the baby."
"Aow na, Kwang," said Nattapol. Don't make that face. Just think of it that our lives are getting better. Besides, you don't want to sell kanom forever, right?"
Kwang did not answer.
"Kwang, listen to me," said Neung, grabbing her younger sister's hands. "I know that you're uncomfortable living in Krungthep but please bear with it for the next few months. After you deliver your baby and you still decide that you want to move back home, well move back home. I just want to make our lives better with this job."
Neung pauses and glances at Nattapol.
"By getting this job," she continues. "We can start rebuilding our lives to make it better. Selling kanom isnt going to get us anywhere in life."
"And moreover, not only Neung is getting a job, I am too," adds Nattapol. "The more people who works, the more income. We can start saving for the baby. You don't have to feel sorry or feel anything at all and you don't have to be afraid because we will take care of you."
"P'Nat is right," said Neung. "Now go wash your face and well have lunch together na? I don't want my niece coming out with a frown."
Kwang slightly smiles and wipes the tears off of her face.
"Aow Neung, how do you know that Kwang's baby will be a girl?" asks Nattapol. "Who knows? It could be a boy."
"Boy or girl, it doesnt matter," replied Neung. "As long as the baby comes out healthy, I will be very happy."
"Yeah, you're right," said Nattapol.
Kwang smiles and goes to bathroom to wash her face.
"Did you see the news yet?" Nattapol asks Neung while Kwang is the bathroom.
Neung nods and smiles.
"It was all your plan huh?" he asks her.
Neung nods again and goes to sit down at the table.
"It's a bit early isn't it?" asked Nattapol. "You haven't even started working at their company yet."
"The earlier the better," replied Neung. "It's satisfying."
Nattapol shakes his head as he watches Neung unbag the groceries. He was unsure if he should be happy for the sisters or worried, especially for Neung. For as long as he remembered, Neung was always the type of person that got whatever she wanted and most of all her actions ended with trouble.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!"
Krittachai threw the stack of newspapers in Thanawits face, not expecting his younger brother to show up in front of him after a newly leaked scandal. "HOW DARE YOU FACE ME AFTER YOUVE DISGRACED OUR FAMILY NAME?!"
Thanawit picked up the newspapers, glanced at the cover, and shakes his head. "I'm assuming you believe this stupid shit too."
"What's not to believe when everything is right there?!" Krittachai shot back. "It is everywhere!"
"Well I'm telling you now that none of this is true," said Thanawit. "I know that you don't believe me but I will prove it to you."
"Yeah?" asked Krittachai. "Well, what are you going to do?"
"I'm going to hold a press conference," replied Thanawit.
"I don't care what you do but I'm telling you right now that I change my mind about that stupid interview," said Krittachai. "I'm not going to let people ask me questions of who you impregnated or if the news is true or not."
"Mai dai!" exclaimed Thanawit. "You promised me already!"
"I don't care," said Krittachai.
"Fine, if I clear these rumors and prove to you and everybody that its not true, you must agree to do the interview," said Thanawit.
"Fine," said Krittachai. "But I'm telling you right now, don't get me involved with this mess!"
"I know what to do," said Thanawit. "Don't worry. I really want to know who the person behind all this is." He looked past Krittachai and out the large open window in the office. "Even if I have to travel all the way to the other side of the Earth, I must find out.
"

      Chapter Four
Trust Issues

Monday morning came too fast and before she knew it, Neung was on her way to Kaewiset Publishing Company for her first day of work. She immediately took notice of the crowd of people blocking the entrance of building as her taxi pulled up.
“Oho,” said the taxi driver. “That’s a lot of reporters. How can you get in?”
Neung smiled and thought to herself that this revenge plan of hers was unraveling itself all too well. “Don’t worry, I can handle it,” she told the taxi driver. She paid him for the transportation service and got out of the taxi. No one took notice of Neung as she ascended the steps up to the building. After informing an employee at the welcome desk that she was here for her first day of work, the woman nodded and phoned Krittachai’s secretary, Yaem, who Neung had already met on the day of her interview.
“Sawadee ka, Khun Narin.”
“Aow, Khun Yaem,” said Neung, taking notice of Yaem.
“You may come up to the office with me,” said Yaem.
“How about Khun Krit?” asked Neung, automatically.
“Khun Krit is at a meeting right now,” replied Yaem.
Neung nodded and followed her into the elevator to the 8th floor.
“So…what are all those reporters doing out in front of the entrance?” Neung pretended to ask.
“Uhm…there has been a major accusation towards Khun Krit’s younger brother, Khun Thanawit ka,” replied Yaem.
“Khun Thanawit?” asked Neung, as if she were unsure of who the guy was.
“Chai ka, the hottest rising superstar right now,” replied Yaem.
“Is Khun Thanawit here?!” asked Neung excitedly.
Yaem shot a suspicious look at her.
“Uh…uhm…I was going to ask for his autograph,” said Neung quickly.
“Oh, he’s not here,” replied Yaem. “The reporters are here to interview Khun Krit regarding Khun Thanawit’s scandal.”
Neung nodded to demonstrate that she understood. “Well, what do I do today?”
“First you must…
“Yaem! Yaem!”
Before the secretary could answer, Krittachai Kaewiset was running towards them. He seemed very impatient and looked very tired.
“Khun Krit!” exclaimed Neung.
“Sawadee krub,” said Krittachai quickly. “Yaem, I need you to go down there and tell those reporters that I’m in a meeting.”
“Uh…
The look on Yaem’s face clearly expressed that she was not the person to do the job.
“Mai dai ka,” blurted Neung. “If you do that, they will wait until you are done with the meeting.”
Finally, Krittachai turned to face Neung. Even Yaem was taken aback by Neung’s statement.
“Well what do you reckon I do?” asked Krittachai. “I can’t go out there.”
“But you must,” said Neung. “They are here to interview you and if you don’t go out there, they will wait for you to come out. You will have to face them sooner or later, why not now?”
“You don’t understand,” said Krittachai.
“If you trust me, I will help you clear up with them,” Neung offered.
“What does that mean?” asked Krittachai.
“I will go down there with you,” replied Neung.
Krittachai didn’t have much time to think. He didn’t want those reporters standing out there any longer nor did he want to waste any more of his precious work time. He finally nodded yes and they both went down to the entrance together outside.
As soon as they stepped out of the building, some reporters held up their cameras and snapped away  while some held up their recorders to take notes of the interview.
“Khun Krittachai ka!” some of them exclaimed at the sight of Krittachai.
“Please calm down everyone,” said Krittachai. He tried to be patient with them but it was useless because the crowd seemed extremely anxious to fulfill their curiosities.
“Khun Krittachai ka, how do you feel about Khun Thanawit’s scandal?”
“We know that your company hides Khun Thanawit’s scandals from the public, is that true?”
“Why don’t you publish articles about Khun Thanawit?”
“Please everyone, calm down and Khun Krittachai will answer all of your questions accordingly!” bellowed Neung. “How can he answer them if you all ask at once?”
“Who are you ka?”
“What is your relation to Khun Krittachai?”
“If you want us to answer your questions, please calm down!” yelled Neung, even louder this time. “I’m Khun Krittachai’s assistant and my name is Narin.”
The crowd lowered their voices a bit and began snap pictures of Neung. They also listened carefully and recorded her answers.
“I apologize to keep everyone waiting, ka,” began Neung. “We would also like to thank you for patiently waiting for Khun Krittachai to finish his meeting. Now, if you would like to ask him questions, go ahead. We are here now and will answer all of your questions accordingly and to the best of our ability.”
“Thank you krub, Khun Narin,” Krittachai said to Neung. He then turned to face the crowd.
“Khun Krittachai ka, how do you feel about Khun Thanawit’s scandal?” asked a woman in the front. She held her recorder closer to him and everyone listened.
“I honestly don’t feel anything at all because I trust my brother and if he says it isn’t true, then it isn’t true,” replied Krittachai. “He is an adult and I believe he can take care of himself.”
“How do you know for sure that it isn’t true?” asked another woman.
“Well how do you know for sure that it is true?” Neung shot back. “You can’t just listen to one side and assume that that side is telling the truth.”
Krittachai turned to Neung and slightly smiled.
“How about the fact that you don’t publish articles involving Khun Thanawit, krub? Is that true?” asked another male reporter.
“I do publish them but not all,” replied Krittachai. “This company is a publishing company which means that we not only publish articles involving celebrities but also books and magazines. We simply do not focus on the celebrity life; therefore, we do not have to publish everything that has to do with Khun Thanawit.”
“I’m sorry ka, this is enough for today,” Neung chimed in. “Khun Thanawit has to return to work. If there is nothing else, please excuse us. Thank you na ka. We hope that everyone is satisfied but if not, Khun Krittachai will be doing a personal interview with SPICY magazine so please check it out when it is released in a few days. Thank you again.”
Neung smiled, waved goodbye to the reporters, grabbed Krittachai’s left arm and dragged him into the building. Krittachai smiled and let her drag him all the way to the elevators where she finally let go.
“Sorry ka,” said Neung after realizing that her arm was around his for the past minute.
“Sorry for what?” asked Krittachai. “I should totally thank you. If it weren’t for you, I probably wouldn’t be able to handle those people. I didn’t think you would be this…headstrong.”
“Well I am your assistant after all,” said Neung, pressing the up button on the elevator.
“I’m glad I hired you,” said Krittachai. “You’re a very intelligent woman.”
Neung looked away and smirked because she was glad he hired her too. “Khob khun ka,” she said.
“I’m sorry to have pulled you into this mess on your first day of work,” said Krittachai.
“It’s totally fine,” said Neung. “I am more than happy to assist you.”
Krittachai smiled and Neung thought to herself how easy it was to gain his trust. It made her job that much easier.

“Here.”
Thanawit looked up to see his manager, Ratha and grabbed the water bottle that she had handed him. “Khob khun krub.” He opened the bottle and took a huge sip.
Even under the tent, it was still extremely hot and what was worse was that Thanawit had to wear a suit. The jacket made him sweaty and uncomfortable but this would be the last scene of his latest lakorn.
“Next scene is wedding scene,” the director said, approaching Thanawit and Ratha. “How are you feeling Khun Wit?”
“Hot,” replied Thanawit, taking another swig of the water.
“Hot like yourself,” the director joked. “Have you seen the news yet?”
“What news?” asked Ratha.
“Reporters were at Kaewiset Publishing Company this morning,” replied the director. “They were seeking some answers from Khun Krittachai, your brother, Khun Wit.”
“And what?” asked Thanawit, anxiously. He haven’t heard anything about this as he had been shooting this last episode of his lakorn since 6 AM.
“And the reporters got their answers,” replied the director. “I heard your brother did a great job answering the questions.”
“P’Krit nia na?” asked Thanawit. He wanted to make sure that he heard right. There was no way Krittachai went down to the entrance outside to talk to all of those reporters.
“Yep,” replied the director. “Alright now, check it out for yourself after shooting this last scene. I’ve got to go get the camera crew. Five more minutes.”
“Krub,” said Thanawit and the director walked away.
“Now it’s all up to you,” said Ratha. “You’d better answer the questions carefully at the press conference tomorrow morning.”
“I know,” said Thanawit. He was sure he would be fine. Besides, the scandal was a hoax anyway. Thanawit couldn’t wait to clarify the rumors and find the person behind it.

Ooh! It's getting intense...ish. 555 I can't wait to read more as to when Krit and Thana finds out the truth and so forth. :D lol
Seems like Thana really doesn't know Kwang is pregnant...or does he? Who knows. Haha. Seems like "Narin" sure know what she's doing as well. Krit is already trusting her yet it seems like he's already taking interest in her. lol
Thanks for the 3 chapter update~ :D I'm definitely enjoying it.

You're very welcome rose! I'm so glad you're enjoying it because I do enjoy writing it very much!
To answer your question, no; Thanawit doesn't know Kwang is pregnant. And yes, Narin knows exactly what she's doing. Her character is supposed to be head-strong while Krit is innocent as can be. I want her character to gain Krit's trust because it will help her with her revenge plan in the long run. To gain his trust is to win his heart.

   Chapter Five
Serious Business

If there was anything worse than being in a nasty scandal, it had to be exposing himself to the public and paparazzi for two consecutive hours to answer nonsense questions. Thanawit answered each and every question carefully and almost truthfully. No, he did not get anyone pregnant. At least he didn’t think so.
“So why did the unknown woman claim that you got her pregnant?”
Thanawit guessed that it was probably due to his rising fame and superstar status but of course,  the media and press looked forward to going into the details.
“I really don’t know what to say,” said Thanawit. “I would like to reinstate that I did not get anyone pregnant and these rumors are not true.”
“Are you currently seeing anyone?”
Thanawit immediately thought of his manager, Ratha, but of course, because she was his manager and an elder sister figure in the industry, there was no way in hell he would admit to seeing her. Besides, his relationship with her was just temporary.
“No,” Thanawit replied. “I don’t have a girlfriend. Why? Because I’m working most of the time so I don’t have time for a relationship.”
“So how about the matter regarding your older brother, Khun Krittachai?” asked another reporter. “It has come to our knowledge that he recently did a photoshoot with you for a magazine. Is that true? Are you planning on introducing him to the public?”
Thanawit slightly smiled and shook his head. “No, krub,” he replied. “P’Krit is the type of person who puts and sees work as his number one priority. He has never been interested in the entertainment industry. Yes, he recently did a photoshoot with me because I asked him to. It is part of my job so he understands but to expose himself publicly, that is not my brother.”
At this point, Thanawit hoped that Krittachai was watching this live press conference because it was probably the only way it would clear up the misunderstandings. At the same time, he hoped that Krittachai kept his word about agreeing to the personal interview. Just a little interview, no big deal.
Finally, after the media and press were satisifed with Thanawit’s responses, the press conference concluded.
“You did a great job,” said Ratha.
“Thanks, it was all for the best,” said Thanawit.
“I wonder what that shameless bitch will do now,” said Ratha, when they were in the van.
“Now do you believe me?” Thanawit asked her.
Ratha smiled and nodded. “Oh yes, don’t forget about the interview of your brother.”
“I know,” said Thanawit. “I will talk to him tonight.”

“He answered those questions nicely.”
Neung shot an angry look at Nattapol. “How could you say that?” she asked him. “He lied!”
“But the woman you paid to spark up the scandal isn’t pregnant,” said Nattapol. “He doesn’t even know that it is Kwang that is pregnant.”
Neung smirked. “This is just the beginning. Wait until I am promoted. I will turn that company and both the Kaewiset brothers’ lives upside down. He can build up his confidence now but wait until the real action begins.”
Nattapol shook his head. “I still don’t think this whole thing is a good idea. You’re sacrificing too much.”
“How about what that guy has done to Kwang?! Have you forgotten?!” Neung stood up from the sofa angrily and threw a fit at Nattapol. “That man screwed up Kwang’s life!”
“Even if that’s so, you shouldn’t sacrifice yourself,” said Nattapol. “I just…worry about you.”
“Don’t worry about me,” said Neung. “I can take care of myself. I know what I’m doing. You just wait and see.”
She stomped away angrily leaving Nattapol sitting there speechless. This was Neung. If she wanted to do something, no one can stop her.

“Kwang.”
Neung pressed her hand over Kwang’s forehead and sat down on the bed beside her.
“I’m fine,” said Kwang, turning around to face her older sister.
“Are you hungry?” asked Neung.
“No.”
“Do want something to drink?”
“No.”
“How about some warm milk?”
“No. Don’t worry about me.”
“Kwang. Listen to me,” began Neung. “You can’t keep doing this. It isn’t good for you nor it is good for the baby. I know you made a mistake and you know you made a mistake but everyone makes mistakes, okay? Stop acting this way like you blame yourself. And don’t tell me to not worry about you because I can’t do that. You are my younger sister and I am your older sister. We’re supposed to take care of each other. If I were in your situation, I know you would do that same for me.”
Neung wiped the tears of Kwang’s face.
“I’m sorry, P’Neung,” said Kwang.
“Don’t be sorry,” said Neung, wiping the last teardrop. “Now I’m gonna go get you some warm milk, okay? Then, I have to go to sleep because I have to get up early in the morning to go to work.”
Kwang nodded and watch Neung walk out of the room. She felt very fortunate to have such a supportive sister and friend and at the same time, regret her past actions. If it weren’t for her own stupidity, Neung and Nattapol wouldn’t have to go through all of this. However, there wasn’t anything she could do. If only she could turn back time.

“Did you watch the press conference?”
“I did.”
“Do you believe me now?”
“Maybe.”
“Aow, P’Krit!” Thanawit exclaimed. He put both hands on his hips and stared at his older brother. “The whole purpose of this press conference was to clear my name and the misunderstandings.”
“Even if you pass a test once doesn’t mean you will pass it all the time,” said Krittachai.
“What does that supposed to mean?” asked Thanawit, sitting down on the sofa next to his brother.
“P’Krit.”
He snatched the magazine from Krittachai and tossed it onto the coffee table in front of them.
“Aren’t you listening to me?” asked Thanawit.
Krittachai finally looked up and sighed. “You might’ve cleared your name and the misunderstandings this time but what if you make the same mistake again? Would you be able to clear it up then?”
“I don’t understand,” said Thanawit.
“Let’s say you really impregnate a woman one day,” began Krittachai. “How are you going to take care of business then?”
“I’m not that stupid,” said Thanawit.
Krittachai laughed. “It’s hard to say because no one knows your true nature better than yourself and me.”
“And no one knows you better than I do,” said Thanawit. “Nee, I hope you remember your promise to me.”
“I remember,” said Krittachai.
“Well that means you agree to do the interview, right?” asked Thanawit. “I am hoping you do because if you don’t, I might have to go back to the old plan. I will tell everyone you’re gay and trust me, they will believe me because no one knows you better than I do.”
“Save your saliva,” said Krittachai, getting up. “I keep my promises. I promised that if you clear up this scandal then I will agree to do the interview so I will do it.”
Thanawit smiled and patted his shoulder. “Geng maak, P’Krit.”
Krittachai rolled his eyes and walked away.
“Good night na ja, P’Krit!” Thanawit called out. “And don’t forget the interview is next Monday!”

“Good morning Khun Narin.”
Neung nearly dropped her cup of coffee. She didn’t realize that Krittachai had walked in on her. Neung turned around and found herself face to face with him, their lips only a few inches apart. He smiled at her.
“Er, excuse me,” said Neung. “I mean, I’m sorry I didn’t realize you were…
“Sorry if I scared you,” said Krittachai. “I didn’t mean to.”
“Uhm…what are you doing in here?” asked Neung.
“I was looking for you but Yaem told me you were in here,” replied Krittachai.
“Uh…yes,” said Neung. “Is there something I can help you with?”
Krittachai smiled and backed away a few steps. For some reason, every time he smiled, Neung’s heart pounded.
“I want you to see something,” said Krittachai.
Neung felt her heart race even faster. What was this guy getting at?
“Come to my office when you’re done making your coffee okay?” said Krittachai. He walked out with a smile while Neung stood there with a puzzled expression.
What is it that he wanted her to see and why is it so secretive that she must go to his office to see it? Neung dropped off her coffee at Yaem’s desk and went to Krittachai’s office as she was told.
“Look.”
Neung closed her eyes and looked away before she could see where he was pointing.
“Aow, don’t you like it?” he asked.
Neung opened one eye and realized that he was pointing at an empty desk near the wide opened window. She let out a sigh of relief and walked towards it.
“I thought…I thought…
“What do you think?” he asked her proudly. “Since you are my personal assistant, I figure you must have your own desk in here too. I ordered this just for you. Do you like it?”
Neung felt herself go red in the face and shyly nodded. What a dirty mind she had!

Chapter Six
Opposites Attract

“Lunch? What? You want me to go to lunch with you?”
All day, Krittachai laughed at Neung’s clumsiness and hesitation. It seems as though she was either overly anxious about working or nervous. Whatever it was, he found it amusing.
“Yes.” He chuckled again. “I’m going to lunch with the chief editor, Khun Aroon, and I think that you should come too.”
“Sure,” said Neung. She had wondered in the first place if he would ask her to lunch because if even if he didn’t, she would suggest the idea to him. After all, she was his personal assistant, which made sense for her to be at his side almost all the time. Besides, she had much to learn and absorb to get her plan going.
“Great,” said Krittachai. “Just leave the work on your desk here and take the planner book.”
“Ka,” said Neung. “You can go wait for me in the car. I have to clock out and make a quick run to the restroom.”
He nodded and left the office. When she was sure that no one was around or would come in, Neung whipped out a tube of lipstick and applied a thick coat of the bright red color to her lips. She was now ready to go out to lunch with Krittachai.
“Oho,” said Krittachai, stunned by Neung’s sudden different appearance. “You…you…
“Yes,” said Neung, interrupting him. “Am I pretty?”
Krittachai quickly looked away and smiled shyly.
“Uhm… He cleared his throat and opened the passenger side door for her.
“Well,” said Neung, waiting for an answer.
Krittachai nodded without looking at her.
“I’m your personal assistant,” said Neung. “I don’t want to embarrass you by looking plain.”
“Krub,” said Krittachai. He closed the her door and entered his driver side seconds later. “I appreciate your kind thoughts and I must say that you’re doing a swell job so far.”
“Thank you,” said Neung. “I will continue to do my best.”
“Khob khun krub,” said Krittachai. He started the car and pulled out of the company.
So this was Krittachai Kaewiset, Neung thought to herself. He was easier to decieve than she had previously thought. Great. Now, all she had to do was win his heart and make him fall head over heels for her. That could easily be achieved.

“Star in an MV?”
Ratha nodded and sat down next to Thanawit.
“What MV?” asked Thanawit.
“It’s for Bie the Star’s new single,” replied Ratha. “I already accepted the work for you.”
“Well, who’s the nang’ek?” asked Thanawit, taking a sip of his water.
“That I don’t know,” replied Ratha. “But it fits perfectly with your schedule so I accepted it for you. Hope you don’t mind.”
“Not at all,” said Thanawit. “Thank you.”
“Well, the shooting for this MV is two days from now,” said Ratha. “No preparation needed. Just simply show up and do as the director says. Piece of cake.”
Thanawit nodded.
“Now that you’ve cleared your name from the scandal, you should be able to have more work,” said Ratha.
“I hope so too,” said Thanawit. “I promise I won’t let you down.”
Ratha smiled and leaned in closer on the table.
“I believe you,” she whispered to him.
He returned the smile and perched his hands onto the table.
“Alright, well let’s get to ordering,” said Ratha. “We’ve got to get ready for the lakorn closing party tonight too.”
“Krub,” replied Thanawit.
“Well I’m going to excuse myself to the restroom,” said Ratha, getting up from her chair. “Be right back.” She winked at him as she got up from the table.
Thanawit considered himself as a lucky guy. He couldn’t imagine his career without his manager, Ratha. If it weren’t for her, he wouldn’t be in the position he is today.
“P’Krit.”
Thanawit’s eyes rounded on the couple that had just walked into the restaurant and he recognized at once his older brother, Krittachai.
“Who’s that girl?” Thanawit wondered. Her striking beauty made him shudder. “So sexy,” he said to himself. He twisted around his chair and watched as they were being seated. Finally, he got up and walked towards them.
“Sawadee krub.” He arrived at their table with a wide smile on his face, his eyes fixed on Neung.
“Thanawit,” said Neung, shocked to see her enemy standing in front of her.
“You know my younger brother?” asked Krittachai at once.
“Of course,” Thanawit said to his brother. “Have you forgotten who I am, P’Krit?”
“Oh yeah, I forgot for a minute that you’re a dara.” Krittachai rolled his eyes.
“Sawadee ka,” said Neung, holding out her right hand.
Thanawit’s face brightened and he happily shook her hand.
“Great,” Neung thought to herself. “Never would I have thought to meet you here but now, let the fun begin.”
“This is Khun Narin,” said Krittachai, introducing Neung to Thanawit. “She’s my personal assistant.”
“Hah?” Thanawit was puzzled. “What did you say?”
“You heard right,” said Krittachai. “Khun Narin is my personal assistant.”
“You?!” asked Thanawit, surprisingly. “Man, it just surprises me that my older brother finally hired a personal assistant. I always thought that you were the type of…
“Shut it, Aie Wit,” said Krittachai. He turned to Neung. “I must apologize on the behalf my brother.”
“Apologize for what?” asked Neung. “No need to. I find it amusing.”
“You seem like the type of woman who likes humor,” said Thanawit. “But I’m sorry to say, my brother is no where near that.”
“Aie Wit!” exclaimed Krittachai.
“Just kidding,” said Thanawit. He pulled Krittachai up from the chair and dragged him outside the restaurant, much to Neung’s convenience.
“Aie Wit,” said Krittachai. “Aie Wit! Let me go! What the hell are you doing?! No manners!”
Thanawit laughed. “What are you doing?”
“I should be asking you that question,” Krittachai shot back. “What the hell are you doing?”
“Other than our mother, I’ve never seen you eat out with a woman before,” said Thanawit. “What exactly are you planning on doing?”
“Khun Narin is my personal assistant,” replied Krittachai. “It is part of her job to go out to lunch with me because…
“Aow Khun Krit, Khun Wit.”
The brothers turned their heads to see Khun Aroon, the company’s chief editor. Thanawit smiled shyly and stepped back a few inches from his brother.
“What are you two doing out here?” asked Khun Aroon. “How about you, Khun Thanawit; are you joining us for lunch today?”
“Uhm…
Thanawit looked at his brother and quickly formed a smile.

“Khun Ratha.”
Neung quickly took notice of Thanawit’s manager, who had just sat down at the table a few feet away from her. Suddenly, an exciting idea came to her mind and she quickly made a run to the restrooms. “This should be fun,” Neung thought to herself.
“Ka, ka,” said Neung over the phone.
First, she had to make sure no one was in there. Neung then went into a stall and made dialed a few numbers to inform a few reporters that Thanawit was out dining…with his girlfriend.
“Yes, I’ve seen them at it,” Neung said to a woman over the phone. “I’m sure Khun Thanawit and his manager, Khun Ratha are secretly involved in a relationship. Come see for yourself if you don’t believe me. Ka, ka. You’re welcome, ka.”
After successfully persuading a few reporters of the made-up story, Neung innocently went back to the table to wait for the action to begin. Krittachai and Thanawit still hadn’t made it back to the table but Neung didn’t wonder where they were or what they were conversing about because in a few moments time, the unexpected news will be shocking news, much to Neung's satisfaction.

“So that’s why you’re here.”
Thanawit didn’t know beforehand that Krittachai and Khun Aroon were supposedly to have a little meeting during lunch. He even got a little excited for his brother and couldn’t help but to think that Krittachai had finally found a woman. In the end, Krittachai was still the same ol’ person, a workaholic, a boring man, an innocent and clueless guy whom Thanawit was about to go through hell.
Krittachai shook his head and playfully slapped Thanawit on the shoulder.
“Are you sure you’re not going to join us for lunch?” Khun Aroon asked Thanawit.
Thanawit shook his head and replied that he had other business to tend to. “Khun Ratha and I must go prepare for the lakorn closing party tonight. We just stopped for lunch here to talk about one of my future works.”
“Oh,” said Khun Aroon. “Well then why don’t we all go inside then?”
Krittachai nodded and Khun Aroon opened the door for the brothers.
“Khob khun krub,” said Krittachai and Thanawit.
Thanawit returned to his table where Ratha was scanning the menu.
“Oyy!” Neung yelped in pain as Krittachai and Khun Aroon approached the table.
“Khun Narin, what’s wrong?” asked Krittachai.
“I have a headache,” Neung lied. “I think I’ll return to the company.”
“I’ll take you,” said Krittachai.
“Ka,” said Neung.
“I’m sorry Khun Aroon, we’ll have to reschedule,” said Krittachai, turning to Khun Aroon.
“That’s alright,” said Khun Aroon.
They three of them left the restaurant while Thanawit watched with a cheesy smile.
“Lucky!” said Thanawit aloud. He was a bit jealous by the fact that Krittachai personally escorted Narin. He would give anything to have her arms around her right now.
“Thanawit!” Ratha snapped.
“Huh?”
“What are you looking at?”
“Nothing.”
Ratha eyed him suspiciously. “Why do you look so…horny, then?”
“Me? No…I’m not…I... Thanawit gulped. “Even if I were, I would only be towards you.”
Ratha blushed and playfully pinched his chin. Nearby, reporters snapped away with their cameras as they watched in shock at Thanawit and Ratha, getting all cutesy with each other.
“Unbelievable!” said a woman.
“Aren’t they afraid of the prowling, public eyes?” asked another, aloud.
“So it’s true! Khun Thanawit is having a secret affair with his manager!”

Neung smiled in accomplishment in the car on the way back to the company. She hadn’t intended on doing this but now that she had set the stage, it was time to carry on with the play. She couldn’t wait to see and hear of the results of her actions. Even if it were a success, it would still be a minor on as opposed to the things that Thanawit had done to her sister. For some reason, she had always had a hunch that Thanawit had a thing with his manager. She just hoped that it was true.
