What they did is almost like self sabotage. LOL.
Ok technically They did many wrong things. That alone would possibly have made the drama rating go down to maybe 4 or 3
Then They had the scandal.. That turned off people in general who arent even fan of either one. So lets say it went down further to 3 to 2.5
That leaves the fans of Nadech and Matt to support the drama. But matt dont have much fans and I think from those many are disappointed either with Matt or the remake itslef. So they didnt watch.it . Now we're left with Nadechs fans. Most are NY fans But I think many of them(NY fans) though they want to support Nadech are also turned off by the scandal and the remake.. then they also would have to watch nadech kiss another actress for real. And it isnt just 1 or 2 or 3 or4 barely touch lips. The love scenes are more than any lovescenes NY had done in any lakorns..So its on their own discretion and rights if they want to watch it since they are NY fans not MatT/Nadech fans. If i were to guess i dont think many of them would watch it.

I really think The scandal cut a major chunk of the audience. And the other avenues that might have helped like a really good remake isnt there. I don’t think Matts the reason this is a flop. I think her scandal and the fallout from it is the cherry on top of a long list of reasons not to watch this. Honestly if everything was kept the same and only Matt was replaced this would still not do well, because the production itself- from the wardrobe, to the editing, the styling, the acting, etc. is not up to par.
What I can agree is that it would not flop this badly if she was not in this. It would probably average around 2 to 3% with its highest rating being 4.5 max for its final episode ( and even that’s being optimistic). But under no circumstances can I see this being a hit- with or without Matt- because there are just so many other issues. Even is she was replaced by Yaya, whose miles aged in popularity and fandom power I’d still think the same would happen.

I don’t mean to sound disagreeable by being brutally honest. But although it maybe true that this “remake would still be a flop without Matt, She is the reason why it is a MAJOR flop (1.8/ 1.6 )
As for the rating , I beg to differ, but this would be 3 to 4 rating with all the technical issues and without Matt. Not 2-3. With Matt and without technical issues it might make it to 2-2.6. Thai lakorns with problems like LR did get from 3 to 4 but that’s not a kdrama remake.
Remakes are different from normal lakorns when it comes to viewership. The hype would have made it more popular. So the base rating regardless of technical issues isn’t the same.Also It cannot be assumed that just because an actor or actress did this much in his or her past rating that they will generate the same, especially the rating of a popular kdrama remake. The technical aspects are variables. Again fans would probably endure bad remakesl regardless let say if it’s bad technically just to support their idols. Like many here continue to endure regardless of boredom . So what more of their real fans?. . But again not if they can’t stand the actress . Matt not being there would probably see this remake with a little more decent and respectable rating..

Becsuse the korean ends wants him as lead, So I suppose he should have passed, Nadechs acting is based on his own interpretation. It’s hard to judge a person playing an alien. As for Matt, I think her acting didn’t quite work. She just copied and it’s annoying as hell. I don’t think she really is the right actress for the role. They need someone likable, First, jun ji hyun , appearance wise is extemely charismatic and beautiful. I’m not saying Matt isnt beautiful. She’s just not the same level as JJH. Then she copied her acting. But it didn’t have the same effect, it came off as annoyingly overacting with bold movements instead of adorably annoying. Whatever number of fans she has ( and I don’t think there’s much to begin with) and considering her issues for sure had didn’t watch as well.

Why people are working so hard trying to determine why this lakorn is a flop? Lol. I mean in Thailand, they don't wonder about such a thing coz the reason is quite evident.

Because at the end, if you want to talk about the rating, who cares if the production, script, editing, wardrobes, location and actors are good or not if people has simply decided to NOT WATCH IT? You can't debute that low with a 1,8 whereas it is supposed to be one of the biggest ch3 project, this is a real boycott. This remake was highly anticipated before Matt's scandal coz it's the 1st time ch3 has decided to remake a Kdrama but it went down after how badly nangek handled her scandals with her wild "Jaaa interview" and her provocative "happy new year post". She provoked thai people, she got the consequence right away on her face but she dragged all these people, actors, production, ch3 who have worked so hard for nothing with her.
There is no hype at all here, everything is low compared to any usual lakorn, even lower than D list actors with D list productions
The rating, the views, the tweets after ep1....LOW! Debuted with 1,8!!! OH MY... REAL BOYCOTT! Then this K remake is just inferior to the Kdrama. Remake are made to surpass the original version, not the case here. How Matt dared to say once that the thai version was better? Rating that dropped from 1,8 to 1,6 x3eps is the consequence that people lost interest. But I would say WHO CARES if the initial rating 1,8 was already so low!
After ep1, results are: trended No.1 worldwide, in Thailand & in Philippines but the rating... 1,8 HAHAHA. Fake hype? Yes and No, most of the people who brought the hype comes from MLFAS fans, those rare random viewers who decided to give a try and Nadech dedicated fans who have decided to support him no matter what. MLFAS that trended in PH whereas there is no sub...how possible if not thanks to Nadech who has a huge fanbase overthere lol? Even Khun Nong was not delusional and credited this success thanks to Nadech fans (15min30 in the video)

Thai people have decided to boycott MLFAS because of Matt, so they will definitely not click on those links to increase the views, the comments...it makes sense right?! No go elswhere where the backlash is huge, wild,INSANE lol. After the 1st ep, khun Nong said that "the feedback was great, people overall (1,8 as reminder lol) praised the production, actors, CGI but the rating is completely at the opposite, I don't know why"....how to politely and indirectly said "Eee MATT" lol. I really pity khun Nong who have invested so much "I will not watch it ja. I don't like nang ek. The storyline is good, fun but too bad you chose this actress".

My point is you should stop wasting your energy to find X Y Z reasons of why this lakorn's is a flop in term of rating because it was already meant to be a failure before it had the opportunity to begin. The evidences of who is the responsible is CRYSTAL CLEAR! "THE MATT EFFECT". She got interviewed recently by the media and they asked her what does she think about people blaming her for these results, she said "I understand and accept it". So people should move on. The rare real watchers who enjoy this lakorn...keep watching it if not, drop it as simple as it is. As for fake watchers who are not interested in praek, nang ek, MLFAS but are so active, you should stop because most of people will react like Sunny by seeing your "TOH FAK TOH FAENG" statements

Everything about this lakorn is like a headache that's inching closer to a migraine lol. To me, not sure whatever the reason is anymore it just lack appeal. I have watched boring lakorns before or boring dramas and basically tortured myself finishing it but at least the characters aren't annoying. It's insults to injury when the lakorn is boring and the characters are unlikable.
And to the majority of the thai viewers if Janie and some others can thrive after their scandal then taking them seriously after Matt's scandal isn't even an option for me. They act like a scorned lover lol acting like Matt actually steal their boyfriend or husband (it's so personal it's disturbing).
Matt and Nadech has little to no chemistry...what beautiful and effortless chemistry looks like people need to watch My Girlfriend Is An Alien. Now, if Matt and Nadech has that kind of chemistry then there's something to talk about. Instead watching them is like watching fish swimming around in a glass tank lol. The hype for me was real when there's first news about it but after a long delay I didn't care if it aired or not. I got into other stuff and this lakorn became an after thought.

They had to because it’s a big production. So much money was spent. True about the chemistry . I already could somewhat see it from the beginning. But I wasn’t sure because you really have to see the actors acting together to see if the chemistry is there. So I said I’ll wait for the remake to show and judge.. Then... .. just unbelievable how can one even defend this remake, lol.As for your headache and migraine..I think this remake is indeed becoming health hazard to others and might even be a cause of mental issues to some,,LoL..enough for people to just go crazy, and come out of nowhere and start attacking and insulting every single people they can. I call It the MLFTS Viewers syndrome....Hahaha
..I think I really should not watch anymore....before I end up like that.. heck it maybe too late for that..There's a kiss in episode 7 not sure if there's one in episode 6 cause didn't watch it. I didn't watch the whole episode 7 just the Fin scene of the kiss scene. Seriously, when Na kissed Matt and she has her eyes opened all I thought about was all the K dramas and C dramas I've watched where the FL opened their eyes while being kissed hahahah.
Yeah, them as a couple is a complete dud lol. I was waiting for a kiss to see at least if there's something there. But nope, nothing. Basically two people kissing that doesn't generate an ounce of spark. Sigh....I might check some Fin scenes here and there other than that this lakorn is off to the background for good.

Still waiting for the hype regarding this Korean remake drama of why the drama was good and entertaining because the storyline is boring.
After Mina's death ( what a wasted role for Yogurt and unbeknownst to me, a murder plot too), I didn't like where the plot was heading but kept on with it. I am still trying to watch til the end (episode 16?), but am at episode 4 and I've snoozed twice while watching it. Majority of the scenes were in Achira's condo, I felt suffocated and needed air from that studio set. I am not alone, when I say it's a disappointment and I am directing that to the BORING storyline. In addition, I don't care for the editing, style, and the melodramatic characters (Falada included, her mom, managers, reporters, etc.). There's no chemistry between the leads in the 4 episodes I've watched. I cringed and omg at some of the real life parodies. So far the only enjoyable scenes are the Specials after the episodes, though I managed to see a clip of drunked Achira for episdoe 6 .
For me, this is not a must see right now, but a wait and see when it finished airing so I can FF the supporting characters and find out the ending.

The famous kiss is not that. It’s at the end. I think people tune in to see Nadech the well loved actor kiss the most hated actress in thailand. It most certainly not the acting and the story. But anything to raise the rating,

I can’t help but feel somwhat concern for Nadech. 
If they copy all of them. Especially The red carpet Kiss . I Hope it doesn’t become controversial. Cause this remake is so not worth it for his career. Perhaps he got paid a lot. But all things considered with the scandal and quality of this remake.. I just think he wasted a full 1 year shooting this. Then for the first time kissing someone other than yaya and not just one kiss but many real kisses. The korean version wasn’t shy when it comes to kisses. I don’t think Koreans do any fake one.lol. When I heard they want to film it a certain way. I thought Nadech is going to have to do some real serious kissing.. and more than he ever had in any of his lakorns as this drama is known for many iconic kisses.. I know he has many real fans. But I’m sure there are also who would be those disappointed, Of all the actresses he has to kiss. It could have been mew or Kim or taew. But, It’s someone involved in scandal whom many people don’t like ..lol.. I wonder what the reaction of those people would be to Nadech kissing Matt. LOL. Bless their little hearts if all they have is being mad or disappointed that an actor is doing his job. That's a cushion life.I can’t help but feel somwhat concern for Nadech.
Nadech will be fine going forward with or without this remake. I mean, they hand picked him from the beginning. Being an actor sometimes you have to kiss a frog rather than the princess lol. But as a professional they have to put on a happy face and take one for the team hahaha.
And this lakorn isn't going to put a dent on his popularity let alone his career. He's so darn popular he probably got some young girls following his IG even if he turns 80 lol. Now, Matt on the other hand...that's another whole universe of a story
