I agree with Cupid Candy. Kobori loves Ang too much. Even after she jumped off the stairs, he did not want to be apart from her, but felt he was not who she needed. We can tell he still longed to be close to her, to comfort her, but did not dare try to be near her for fear that he would add to her stress and make her decision to choose between him and the man whom he thought she loves more complicated.
