P'Thongchai is planning to remake Nai Hoi Tamin in 2016 according to his interview from Dara Daily magazine. He starred in the old version too. It'll be a big project. Moreover, Thongchai won an award for best producer of the year. He talked about admiring Weir Sukollawat as an actor. Weir's his favorite. Yay! Pordeecom is my favorite production at Ch.7 so it warms my heart that they love Weir. That means he'll receive quality work from them in the future. I love their recent adaptation of the tragic Peuan Paeng.
Many people will probably call me a hypocrite for supporting P'Thongchai's favoritism of my favorites while complaining about Anne reusing Kim. But if you don't watch Ch.7 lakorns, you don't understand how bad their productions are. Lol. It's frustrating when your favorites keep getting casted by bad productions for years on end. The dragged out plots and their unnecessary focus on side characters besides the main leads can really raise one's blood pressure. Therefore, it's a sigh of relief that one of their few quality productions favorites Weir.
I loved Nai Hoi Tamin starring one of my absolute favorite veteran actors Tua Saranyu. He was so handsome in there. Loved all their songs too. Anything with Saranyu brings me back to my childhood. I loved him in Mon Ruk Look Toong, Dome Tong, and Nai Hoi Tamin. After watching Peuan Paeng, I can picture Weir as Klao from Mon Ruk Look Toong. I don't want it to be remade again, but if they ever do, Weir would be the only exception that I'll approve. He also fits Nai Hoi, and he can ride the ox again. You can tell I like look toong themed lakorns. Weir fits them best with his tall, dark, and handsome self. He can also sing look toong songs well. If anyone should remake Saranyu's lakorns, it's Weir.
Furthermore, I remember watching Nai Hoi Tamin and having a difficult time understanding because they were speaking Isan/Lao. However, by the end of the lakorn, koy vow Isan/Lao dai der. Lol. I pick up languages quickly, but I forgot now. P'Thong will cast people who can speak Isan well. And who can speak Isan well? The one and only Weir Sukollawat who is from Khon Kaen. He sounds so cute speaking it too. My ai Weir. Another potential p'ek is Michael Pattaradet. I newly fell in love with him in Roy Ruk Raeng Kaen, so I don't mind him either. People from Pantip want Min Pechaya in here as n'ek since she, too, is from Khon Kaen but I doubt she can speak it well. Please no Min. I cannot stand her in bratty roles. She'll make Kum Kaew super annoying. Others want Baifern because apparently, she can speak Isan well too. Idk, I never heard her, but I prefer her over Min. She would be cute with either Weir or Michael. Both Mike and Weir can sing so either would be a great choice.
I am super excited about this project! I hold the old version dear to my heart like I do with Mon Ruk Look Toong.
