ipod help.

i have all my songs on my playlist on itunes and im trying to sync them into my ipod right. when i connect my usb cord, itunes doesnt recoginze it or something and it doesnt do anything. I've tried pressing the menu and center button, but still nothing. what do i do?

Oh and I charge my ipod with my computer and I have an iPod Nano.

Happened to me, before, but for me the problem was with the usb cord, but my friend also had the same problem and it wasn't the cord, LOL he had to send it to apple... so you are saying that your pc will not read the ipod right?, or is it a new one??

1. how old is your computer
2. do you regularly update your itunes and ipod
3. are there any other usb driven hardwares or softwares (i.e. printer, external drives) sharing other usb ports
4. how old is your ipod nano
