It was one of the most successful marriages in the business world. Successful because it conjoined two highly respected families; bringing two of the Thailand’s best lines of hotel and casino together. But it was a marriage by force, breaking the hearts of those involved, and causing hatred amongst the two newly weds. It feels as if they’ve fallen into an endless pit worse than hell; blinding them from what they’ve been searching for. Can they set away their differences and change their endless pit to a pink abyss or will hatred, greed, and power destroy the lives of two young people searching for love within the shadows of hate?
Starring: Aff, Beam, Namfon, Dan, Matt
Aff Taksaorn – one of the heiresses to Taksaorn Beauty, a grand hotel and casino with a beautiful view of the sandy beach and clear blue sky. The Takason family is “hiso mai yet is vastly climbing to the top of the business world. With the newly built beachfront hotel and a beautiful daughter, the Takason family is catching the eyes of many “riches, especially the Tanjararak, causing envy amongst many other business owners.
Beam Tanjararak – heir to TT (Tanjararak and Treasures), the most top-notch, famous and popular hotel in Thailand for over five years. With the reigning title and a bachelor son, partnerships from other hotels are just knocking at their doors but the Tanjararak has their eyes only on the best, and what is more eye catching then a “hiso mai with the skills to climb to the top in such a short amount of time?
Namfon Patcharin – heiress to the Princeton, which was second in running in the hotel business world until the Takason came into the picture. They’ve always had their eyes set on the Tanjararak’s income and fame and the only way to inherit those is through the Tanjararak heir. But with the hotel’s popularity going downhill for the past few years, catching the eyes of the Tanjararak will take more than a business partnership.
Dan Danuwong – a carpenter/engineer who works at a gas station. But even with no fame and a huge line of hotel, his humble and human characteristics have caught the heart of the Takason heiress. Despite the obvious obstacles of being with a hiso, their relationship continues to grow. But the consequences of being with a married woman, let alone the Tanjararak’s daughter-in-law, are deadly.
Matt Peeranaee – heiress to Kingprayom, a not so highly praised line of hotels, and the love interest of the Tanjararak heir, which causes problems between the Tanjararak family members. The P. despises the greed and power hungriness of the hisos and disinclines their line of hotels from the businesses with that kind of manner, which costs them the chance at fame and money, and now the approval for their heiress as the Tanjararak’s daughter-in-law.
Prologue:
“Pa, Mae, chaun mai tan-gnan! I will only marry the man I love and I do NOT love that kid who thinks he can buy people with his money. I will never in a million years marry him, especially when it’s only to benefit his damn business!
“He is not buying you, or us or our business. His parents approve and like our family name, you…
“Cause we’re rich? Cause of the Takason Beauty? Cause you were able to turn a small inn into one of Thailand’s biggest deal right now? If I wasn’t a Takason, they wouldn’t even look at me!
“That’s not true honey.
“Look at all the other business people just throwing their daughters at the Tanjararak feet…
“And you should be happy that they came US wanting YOU as their daughter-in-law!
“But I do not love their son
Ch. 1
It was bound to be one of the best and biggest events to happen in the hotel business. So much money was spent into this event, so many people were required to set up; it took three months in the making. From the smallest silverware to the biggest ice sculptures, everything was specially ordered and made just for this phenomenal event. Huge smiles gleamed across Mr. Tanjararak and Mr. Taksaorn’s faces as they welcome the guests to their children’s wedding. Mrs. Takasorn stood next to her husband with a smile as big as his, but Mrs. Tanjararak was no where to be seen.
“Wow, this place is beautiful.
“Did you know that even the napkins are specially made just for this wedding?
“They must have spent a fortune on this.
“I wish my daughter was the bride.
“I wish I was the daughter!
Conversations of that sort were heard throughout the building; commenting on the details of the table cloths to the lighting. All the guests were happy and enjoying themselves. Little do they know, the two parties involved were anything but happy.
“Hey, where is Koon Ying Tanjararak? one woman asked.
“Yeah, I only saw Mr. Tanjararak and the Taksaorns greeting. Koon Ying Tanjrarak wasn’t there. Neither was the groom, another woman chimed in.
“She’s over there, a third woman pointed off to a corner.
“She seems unhappy, said the first woman.
“I heard that this was all of Mr. Tanjararak’s doing. She had nothing to do with it cause she doesn’t even like the daughter-in-law, said the third woman.
“I bet it was the Taksaorns, those money hungry newbies, added the second woman.
“I heard Beam didn’t want this either. I bet the Taksaorns manipulated Mr. Tanjararak, said the third woman.
“Did you two know Koon Ying Tanjararak favored the Patcharin’s daughter? the second woman’s eyes gleamed with excitement, she loved to gossip.
“Nu Namfon, right? Ahh, poor girl, won over by the Taksaorns?
“Well, it’s not like she’s an angel herself, the third woman rolled her eyes. The other women knew she was jealous; she and her daughter had their eyes on the Tanjararak heir too.
While everyone downstairs were enjoying themselves, one person sat alone in a big, beautifully decorated room in front of a mirror. She stared at her reflection; she stared at the reflection of the room. She kept staring and staring but all she saw was an empty shell in a big empty room. There were no beautiful decorations, no bright lights, no lace covered tables. The sounds from downstairs echoed in her ear. Others would say they were the sounds of music and celebration: happiness. But to her, it was nothing but the laughter of greed; the coming together of murderers. She wanted to cry, scream out loud, but she wanted most for everyone downstairs to die just like…‘him’ her mind drifted to him, the only thing that was pure and true that day.
*flashback*
“Look at that one, it looks like an ice cream cone, said the guy.
“It does, hmm, ice cream, I want some now, the girl smiled.
“And that one, it looks like a teddy bear peaking through a door, he pointed off to the side.
“Where? she said, searching for it.
“Right there, he sat up.
“I don’t see it, replied the girl.
“Oh come on Aff. You have big eyes, open them. That one right there with the big bear’s head peaking through the door, the guy trace the clouds with his finger for the girl to see.
She frowned, “the only big thing here is my fist going up your mouth.
He caught her hand before it hit him, “hey, your eyes are big but not your fists.
“Yes they are, she struggled to get free.
“I would know, I’m so familiar with them, he chuckled because he wasn’t even holding her tightly but she still wasn’t able to get free.
“How are you familiar with my fist?
“They are the fists of the girl who loves me. She uses them to care for and cradle me all the time, said the girl.
“Who said I love you? she pulled her hands away, crossed her arms and turned the other way.
“But I love you, he slips his arms around her.
“Eww, Dan! she tried to struggle free again.
“You can try, but you I’ll never let you go, and he planted a kiss on her cheek.
*end of flashback*
She raised her hand up to left cheek. A tear rolled down her eyes as she thought of him. Suddenly she wiped her tear away.
“Aff, you will not cry. You may refuse to smile but you cannot cry, she said to herself then stood up and walked to the door.
Oh how they were all so happy downstairs with their expensive wine and best outfits. The music suddenly died down, catching everyone’s attention. They all looked up towards the stairs where the bride stood. Mr. Taksaorn walked to the bottom of the stairs where his face gleamed with happiness, waiting to hand his daughter over to his friends.
Aff stared at the people, eyeing everyone; telling them with her eyes that she hated them all, but she loved the power that their attention gave her. From that day forward, she was bigger than all of them. She smiled and elegantly made her way down to her father. He held his arm out to her, she took it and the music started up again. They walked through the people, the tables and then on to the aisle. As they were walking Aff smiled at everyone, even watering her eyes to make it believable that she was truly happy.
Her father walked her up to the alter where her groom waited. She saw the anger in his eyes, the unwillingness to continue with the ceremony. Her father handed her hand to his but he just looked away, refusing to take it.
Mr. Tanjararak walked up to his son, “Beam, you will not embarrass me today.
Beam was filled with anger but his father was right, he couldn’t embarrass his father today. So he reached out and took Aff’s hand from her father.
Mr. Taksaorn said to Mr. Tanjararak, “I am happy to hand my daughter over to your son.
Mr. Tanjararak replied, “And the Tanjararaks are delighted to welcome her to our family.
“Ladies and gentlemen, friends and families. This is a day of joy, a day of celebration for the Taksaorn and Tanjararak join as one, not in business, but as a family for our children has fallen in love and decided to…
‘Fallen in love? How disgusting!’ Aff thought, ‘not business? This is nothing BUT business!’ Aff was so disgusted at the sight of everyone, especially her groom. The guy had guts to refuse to take her hands. ‘Who does he think he is?’ she thought, ‘He ruins my life and now is acting like he doesn’t want any of this? What a great actor!’
‘Of course you’re happy to hand your daughter over, easiest way to climb to the top. How degrading, and his daughter, beaming with happiness because she’s marrying me. I want to throw up! Letting herself be sold like this. And I have to hold her filthy hands, who know where they’ve gone!’ Beam thought.
Mr. Tanjararak finished his speech, and the exchanged rings.
‘Yeah, smile now because after this, it’ll be living hell for you. What an idiot, this ring symbolizes nothing but her imprisonment,’ thought Beam as he slipped the ring onto Aff’s finger.
‘What an ugly finger! But it matches this damn ring well, both nothing but the work of greed. Enjoy your fairytale wedding, my dear Prince Charming, reality is going to hit real soon, thought Aff as she slipps the ring onto Beam’s finger.
