I am afraid the Spread of Feminism and PC wave from West to East will vanish the Slap/Kiss genre .
Recently , I can't enjoy the so feminine Beta males depicted in Asian Drama
Most of thai Lakorn are using the aggressive character as the Bad /Evil character and make him act as a womanizer and cheater.
The Jealous ,Obsessed(in a good way) ,Possessive male lead character is taken down by the sweet not so manly male character.
In Korean/Taiwanese/Chinese drama now no more jerk male lead or possessive lover any more
So
Do you think this genre is going to be
extinct.?

In thai lakorn it probably won't go out of style because thai audience love those storylines. I think channel 7 might not ready to let it go...especially if channels love remakes. Majority of the lakorns back in the 80s or early 90s consists of a lot of alpha male. So, unless they come up with new s and scripts entirely I don't think it'll completely vanished. Plus, there's channel 8.

As far as other industries such as C/T/K, I don't think I have seen a male lead as aggressive as those of thai ones. Is there even a good slap/kiss dramas out there in C/T/K? I haven't been able to find one

Hopefully it will never be taken down by submissive male leads
About slap / kiss other than thai drama there is many T dramas like Behind Your Smile and older dramas like lee Jun Kai which i dont know why many fans like it and Sealed with a Kiss ( C drama)
All we have left is lakorns so i hope Revenge or Slap /Kiss always stay popular

I like slap & kiss but I’m dying for a real good satisfying full revenge thriller with characters that have depth & brain most important a great script & characters growth also passionate love scenes & more edge because I’m tired of this one dimensional pek & nangek & the past boring scripts with those horrible scenes it isn’t romantic it’s just disease & disappointment for the characters too much mess & misunderstandings during the process.
They will not vanish but for slap & kiss to continue & find it’s palce for now & the future, it needs to evolve & upgrades to its real potential.

You know what? I wish to see a revenge drama like the FL is going after the ML for sth happened to her family but she was mistaken or she was mislead so she regrets playing the ML but its too late so its a reverse revenge i wish the leads both strong and hot and with a great sexual tension without the island /hospital/ escorting shit any more , i dunno i got drifted lol.
Yeah we need new plots and new encounters and enough already with the body guard or contract marriages or islands and we need.to see the ML even after the love confession stay alpha and possessive sigh.

These lakorns are fine, but like many of you have stressed above there needs to be a lot of good reasons and logic for the stuff that the male lead will do to the nangek. Rape cannot be justified at all, but if there are going to be rape scenes between the lead then it better happen when the guy actually loves the girl and not because he hated her or for revenge. That is a little bit better because then he will at least take responsibility for what he did. I don't know what I'm saying... LOL.
