Weirdest Food

I was talking about this during my session and it made me wonder lol..

So what are/is the weirdest food(s) you ever ate?

mine are:

squirrels
turtles
grasshopper
beattles (laos call them meng kee noon)
snakes
gators (not weird and goooooood)

accidentally ate snake, thought it was dried squid

thats all i can think of...i've learned to ask what things are before i eat them now...oh and insects scare me so when i was offered money to eat a cicada, i refused too.

um weird? well i don't know what's weird but i guess out of the normal things besides seafood, chicken, beef, and pork

turtle - was gross and smelly
squirrels - taste like chicken
rabbit - taste like chicken
deer - a bit sweeter than the regular beef
eel - i didn't know that was abnormal tho...:unsure: but was good sushi? and musamun type of plate.
quail - taste like chicken
duck - same as eel? i didn't know it was strange lol, tastes better than chicken

oh yeah, i forgot -

beattle called mang-dah in lao - has a stong smell but is quite tastey

Hmmm, let's see...

I've had:

beattles & crickets when I was in Cambodia

alligator meat, turtles, frogs, shark fins (soup) and snakes

I've had eels before but I didn't think that was uncommon.

lol, really? I've had chicken feet, but never had duck head. I know I've had whole roasted duck but I never eat the head, always cut that off.

oh wow! duck head is really good, especially the brain!!!

well, my mom prepares it really tastey haha.

we'd just buy the heads, season them with various ingredients and lemon grass, then it's either bbq'ed, fried, or ovened. wow i want some now :drool:

u can find these at some temple festivals, well the lao ones i don't know about thai festivals hehe.

picked green grapes
pigs,cow insides such as lungs, heart, liver, intestine
pigs ear
cook pigs blood in cube form

food i tried and won't again

but other wise i'll try anything as long as someone else is eating it with me

besides squirrels, i thought the rest was normal....
