Part One: The Wedding
Toey flopped down on the couch beside her best friend slash maid of honour Kimberly. Her head resting on back of where she was sitting.
“Kimberly, I can’t do this!” she stated.
Kimberly turned so she was facing Toey, “Can’t do what?” She asked.
Toey glared at her soon to be ex-best friend, “You know what?!” she all but shouted.
Kimberly sighed and took Toey’s hand in hers, “You love Ken right?”
Toey couldn’t say anything so she simply nodded, closing her eyes from the tears that threated to fall, not caring about the makeup.
“Then what the problem?”
Toey didn’t say anything for a minute but let the tears fall down her face.
Kimberly sighed and moved closer to Toey and hugged her, “I know your scared honey but think but all the happiness you and Ken will have for
the rest of your lives.”
She cuddled Toey harder, after a few minutes she got up a move to the bedroom door.
Toey looked up from where she sat, “Where are you going?” she asked, her voice coming out like a tiny squeak.
Kimberly sent her a reassuring smile, “You’ve used all the tissues.”
Toey looked down at the box of tissues she didn’t even realise had been placed there. She looked back up to Kimberly and sent her a shaky
smile, “Okay be quick”
“Ten minutes tops” Kimberly said, before leaving the room.
10 minutes had passed when the bedroom door finally opened.
Toey looked up and let out a gasp.
Standing at the open doorway was Kane, her soon to be – or not so soon to be, the way she was feeling – husband.
“What is this I hear of you ditching me at the Alter?” Kane asked, hurt in his voice. When he saw that Toey was crying he rushed to her
side lifted her onto his lap, not caring about her wedding dress, and held her tight.
Toey still didn’t say anything but hiccupped.
Kane stroked her hair before quietly asking not hiding the hurt and sadness in his voice, “Will it be that horrible marrying me that you’re
crying in your room?”
Toey head shot up from where she placed it on Kane’s shoulder.
“NO!” she shouted, she placed her hands on his face. Giving him butterfly kisses before resting her forehead against his.
The tear where still falling down her cheeks.
“I Love you Kane, and I always will but I’m scared. What I-“
Before she could finish Kane placed a finger on her lips interrupting her, “There are no what ifs, Toey it’s just us, what we do what are
future holds, and if we cross a problem we will solve it together.”
Toey nodded, “But what if we do turn out like my mum and dad? Because I don’t think I could live if that happened.”
Kane sighed moving Toey head back to his shoulder, resting his head on her head.
“That won’t happen baby. I’m way past that stage.”
Kane smiled when he heard Toey gasp, but held her tighter when she tried to pull away.
Progress, he thought.
He chuckled when she finally lifted her head and glared at him.
“Your meant to be trying to be calming me down!” she all but shouted, “Not tell me your way past your player stage I know that already!”
Kane laughed, “Its working isn’t it?”
Toey gasped, “You’re doing it on purpose?!”
Toey tried to get up wanting to be angry at him, well not angry but pissed off.
But Kane pulled her right back onto is lap.
He started to kiss her from her shoulder to her ear.
Toey moaned, “Stop that I’m trying to be pissed off!”
Kane didn’t stop but continued kissing her neck.
When he finally did stop, he had Toey moaning in protest.
He smiled at himself, “Do you know why I feel in love with you?” he asked

“Nearly run you over?! You broke my brand new BMWs wing mirror! But I have to admit I didn’t fall in love with you that day” Kane looked for
any signs that he’d hurt her feeling but she just smiled, “I wanted to kill you!”
Toey smile beamed, “I know that what made me love you, you didn’t like me at first meeting.”
Kane chuckled, “You’re a strange girl, but in all seriousness I fell in love with you the day, you told my dad he was an asshole –which he
will never live down- and stuck up for me, that when I knew I loved you.”
Toey rested her forehead against Kane’s and smiled down at him this instant she know she was being silly and had to marry this man, a man
who could reassure her of their love.
She bent down to kiss him, when the bedroom door opened; Toey gasped and struggled to get up while Kane groaned.
Toey turned to see who was at the door and found Best man Mark and Kimberly standing their like falls.
“Mark you owe me ten bucks, I told you he’s sort her out!”
Mark groaned at gave Kimberly the money he owed her.
He looked up to Kane and gave a sly smile, “So you getting married or what?”
Kane faced Toey and smiled at her, “What do you say soon-to-be Mrs Phongpanu will you marry me today?”
Toey smiled up at Kane gave him a quick kiss before replying, “Yes Me Phongpanu I will be marrying today, and I’ll love you forever.”
