I have not seen this movie, but through curiousity, I went to YouTube and saw some clips. The sex scenes are very heavy and looks very real. Like someone said above... I think that she is just doing a good job. Also, how come they are not going to ban Tony Leung? This is a weird case... I think I need to read more, but I do not think that she should be banned.

Also... I was going through comments on the videos... and it seems like some people believe that they actually really had sex during these scenes?

lol. they were just acting. movies cannot portray "real sex" unless it's porn. i've read that there were body doubles too. so it's the director and editor's skills that made the sex scenes seem so real.

No... what I meant was that, according to what I was reading, some people believe that Toney Leung and Tang Wei "really had sex" while filming those scenes because because Ang Lee, cast, crew, etc. will not comment on that or something, which I am not sure if they are making it up or if it is really so.

I am not sure, though... if that was to be, it would be very unprofessional, and Tony Leung is a very well known actor ;)

ok, that's what i was responding to. :huh: people who believe that the actors really had sex are wrong about it. Ang Lee already commented on it, and he said it was all camera angles, editing, etc. it would have been more controversial if the the movie portrayed real sex. it wouldn't be shown in theaters to begin with.

There is a name for movies where people have sex; and its called a PORNO.

Obviously they weren't having REAL sex. Its a movie for god sake and plus its also directed by Ang Lee (one of the best directors period!).

And they didn't ban Tony but the girl gets canned? Comon man. This is ridiculous. This kind of thing really piss me off.

If yall are curious as to what the "sex" scenes look like. youku.com has the movie uploaded. No subs though..It's pretty hard core sex/porno.. I wanted to watch this b/c of Lee Hom but I coulndt it just go too....LOL HARD CORE..for me. So I never finished the movie. If yall watch it tell me how it goes. And I agree how come Tony Leung isnt getting any crap about this? It takes two to tango.and two to make a sex scene. wtf is up with that?
Oh forgot to add all the sex scenes from this movie was edited out for the Asain cinemas..They were only left in for the U.S release.

How can they have real sex when everyone's monitoring them? Haha. Tony even said in an interview, he didn't even have the feeling because of their situation, so how could he have possibly enjoyed having sex with Tang Wei? Plus, he's got a beautiful wife at home. Need he film a movie with another actress just to have sex? No. Plus, how can she let him have sex with her?? Haha.

I haven't seen this movie and I don't plan on watching it just to see how real their sex scenes were, because I don't like to watch films with explicit sex scenes. I find it...irrelevant to the storyline. They can always imply that a sex scene occurred they don't have to show it. Whatever. They're both actors/actresses so no matter what, they're just doing their job. Although, I prefer an actor/actress to not do love scenes like this. It's stupid if they ban Tang Wei only. Why? Is it because she's a girl? Bullsh*t. I think this banning thing in Chinese media is ridiculous. If they want to enforce their conservative law on Tang Wei, then how about banning the whole genre eh~? How about banning ALL category III films? That would make more sense.
