no.. they didn't fight over the role... shahrukh didn't want aish anymore and just called rani to be the lead role... cause of some problem with salman.....

i've realize that the relationship between aish and rani have somethign to do with srk and salman..cuz i think back then srk and salman dont' get along..and since aish is salman's giirlfriend back then..that's why srk call rani ..i guess theyr'e good friend in some sort of way..but anyway...
