Governor Doyle Declares April "Hmong History Month" Apr 11, 2006
It was just thirty years ago.. when the first Hmong Family settled in Marathon County.
It's gone from one family.. to six-thousand in that amount of time.
And their success hasn't gone unnoticed.
That's why Governor Doyle has officially declared the month of April.. "Hmong History Month."
"they've become among the most successful in all the country and Doyle is impressed the newcomers have been successful in seeking employment, buying homes, successful citizens of the state."
In light of the celebration.. the Hmong Association has organized many events for the rest of the month.
The theme.. "Remembering the Roots of Our Culture."
