I am Laotian and a 1/4 Thai.

Thai: Can speak, read, can't write as well
Laotion: Can speak, read but can't write
English: I can't speak, read or write. (J/P)
French: I can speak a bit, can read and can write.
Mandarin: still studying, can speak very little, can read PinYin, not Chinese characters, diffinitely can't write Chinese characters just yet. In the process.

i'm 25% cambodian,25% chinese and 50% british, but i was born in the states & live there...

English -- it's a given (live in the states)
Khmer -- understand, speak, read and write fluently (grew up hearing it)

*OMG! GOOD TOPIC! LOL*

I'm Cambodian. I was born and raised in America. I'm still living here. Lol.

Cambodian: Speak, read and write it.
-How I learned it: I picked up a book, have my dad teach me the alphabet and the rest was on my own.
-I speak Cambodian to my parents and all the elders. It's just weird not to.
-I learned how to read so I can karaoke with my Dad. Lol.
-I picked up writing because I wanted to write to my relatives in Cambodia.

English: Speak, read and write it.
-It's a given for living in America.

Spanish: Can only understand most of it and can speak enough of it to get by. Of course I can read and write it, they use the English alphabet! LOL
-I took 3 years of Spanish. Since I have nowhere else to use it besides the classroom, I forgot a lot of it.

Korean: I know some phrases and can only understand bits and pieces of a conversation. I practice with my friends. Lol
-I want to take classes, but with a full schedule, I don't have time for any other interests. I will, someday.

Japanese: The same goes for Japanese.

Mandarin/Cantonese: Only know a few phrases to use on my Chinese friend. Lol

Thai: Again, only know a few phrases. Cannot read or write it.
-I tried learning it once, but it didn't work out. Mainly because I didn't have the time to, so I wasn't as committed as I should have been. I'll learn it one day and when I do, I'll be able to understand all the crap you guys are talking about me on SW. J/K ^_^ Hahaha.

*Bad habit: Correcting other people* (It's only a bad habit because they don't like it. LOL.)
