Would anyone think it good if porn stars sell their performances for fund raising at which the money goes for good cause?

I think society have their own definition as to what is fine or not.

One thing leads to a greater door that has yet to be opened.

I'll be honest, I wouldn't do it but you can't even see anything in those pictures.
It's just a human body, I don't know why people are making such a big deal about it like it's some sort of disease.
I think there's a time and place for nude modeling, I'm NOT for Playboy and all those magazines but hey, that's just me.
I am FOR nude modeling if it's for a good cause, charity or sending out a message, like PETA and their anti-fur campaigns.
There's nothing wrong with looking at a naked body, we all see one every day when we look into a mirror, unless you're one of those people who can't even stand looking at yourself.

I thought they way the did it was tasteful, the bodies were positioned in a way that there weren't any parts showing, just skin. Well, from the pictures posted.

Charity is charity no matter where it comes from. It's the intent that matters.

But I can understand where the other people are coming from, I mean if it's for a Buddhist temple, selling nude photos is kind of the wrong way to go about it. Whoever's coming up with these ideas should have taken into consideration the religious and cultural aspect of things and talked with the charity before doing this to see if they're okay with it. The thought was great but they should have considered how the temple would react, it is kind of disrespectful in a way. I mean come on, you can't wear a tank top to a temple, did it not occur to them that maybe selling nude photos to raise money for the temple's work would kind of conflict with the cultural beliefs?

If it were just for any charity the nude photos would be okay.

Seriously, who can't tell the difference between porn and art?

Some people associate these two as one and alike, all because of the 'nudity'. Some people resent and abhor showing of the body parts. Some people do not think of it as a bad expression at all.

Tradition, religion, cultural norms (etc) play an important factor which influence people's way of thinking. I, for one, am neutral to this subject matter when it comes to nudity. I like nude art. It is meant to be analyzed as ART, not perversely accepted as demeaning.

I find it funny because social norms change.
Something that was once acceptable is now looked down upon.
I was doing a project over the summer for a class, my friends and I went to the only traditional Hindu Temple in the city to get some video footage. First off, let me explain that as soon as they saw us with professional equipment they volunteers freaked out so getting footage was a task, we weren't even allowed to take it inside the temple, or even up the stairs to get close enough to it. I was wearing a racerback tank top that day and they had me wrap a cloth around my shoulders if I wanted to go inside the temple, which I had no problem with (if I had known I would've worn a tee shirt, you gotta understand, it's horribly hot during the summer in Texas). Anyway, myself and a friend went inside to talk to the volunteers because they wouldn't us mic them I had to write everything down, which is hard when you're walking at the same time.
Our other member was with the camera equipment shooting b-roll, when we got back to the edit suite to look at the footage we realized that all those images carved into the temple were of of people, many of which were NAKED and several of different sexual positions.

If you look back in history in both Chinese and Japanese you'll find pornographic art in a lot of places, even books.
The West is the same way, you look back in history and there was a point in time when human sexuality and the naked body wasn't considered taboo.

It's funny how times have changed.

Before I became a journalist I use to be a fashion design major and had to take a lot of art classes (obliviously), so I've seen my share of strangers naked bodies. :)

In my opinion, I do no think that this is bad because it is going towards a good cause. I think that if I could do the same thing and have that money go towards a cause, I would probably do the same thing... LOL =)
