I don't think Kobe is a freelance. She still contract with ch7 but the boss let her choose to do what she want. Since she been loyal to them forever. 2010 was her last lakorn with ch7. She mostly did hosting job since than. Only since 2016 Kob came back to acting. She was in a sitcom with Num for Workpoint, than a lakorn with Num for ch7 last year.

God forbid a rising n'ek plays villainous roles in the past! I think that happens to Mam (correct me if I'm wrong), but I rarely see them as n'ek with fierceness or hard-headed character. Only when they mature enough, they (if not given) allowed to portray (a little) negative roles. And we can see that Kob is an actual talent when she expands her range when playing rai.
