I traveled by train and reached Hatyai around 5pm local time. It was raining heavily and we (me and my friend) cancelled our plan to floating market. So after a nice bath and unpacking, I got my CD from the hostel owner and I got Reung and Janward postcard. So that night we were roaming freely at the middle of downtown, not to mention it is still raining.
Then, the next day we joined a mini journey with another 2 girls and were touring Songkhla old town, beach, and going to Ko Yo island by ferry. Our guide can speak Malay but I did converse with him in Thai. He did told us some Muslim villages near the island and how the port once at Songkhla shifted to Hatyai. I wanted to go to the Southern Folklore Museum at that island but time and cash constrain us to do so. That museum had those Jindamanee, the picture of Kosa Ban met the King Louis of France. My heart sank deeply. My friend was not well (down with flu because of the rain) so we spent our night at the room. I did went to 7-Eleven and bought the foy thong and thong yord.
I took the 730am local train back to my country the last day. It is indeed a short trip but worth my escape plan.
