It doesn't justify why she tried so many times to kill Alice, Alan and her grand father. She should have only killed Mona haha. She's eager to access to the throne whereas both Alice and Alan don't care. Alice has also a sad life, she lost her parents but Kate still had her father. and nobody seems to love her except King Henri but King Henri loves Alice/Alan/Kate too so Kate is just crazy over the throne.
