i seem can't even burn my files on my tower! because i had tried it with my brother's and it's working... so i assume there's something wrong with my burning-rom. it's not a program.. it's just kept saying that there's no disc to be burned. also it usually opens up by itself when i put cd-r but now it's doesn't anymore!

did i mess my computer really bad? because i only once restored my computer and it has been acting up weird... just only burning-rom problem while others are doing okay. :wavecry:

HELP! i really need my files to be burned because my hard drive is pretty much almost full.................

all right. I'm a bit confused. When you said "i seem can't even burn my files on my tower! because i had tried it with my brother's and it's working..." do you mean the software?

Also what software are you using? Nero I suppose since you said "burning rom" but then again it seems like you're talking about the hardware.

also this statement "also it usually opens up by itself when i put cd-r but now it's doesn't anymore!". This is not really a problem. As a matter of fact I never even do that. I usually just open up nero and get ready for a burning.. then I put in the blank and burn.

So answer my questions first Kitkat and we'll see about what we need to do. Also have you tried another burning software?

Hardware can fail. Its normal. I've had one fail on me.

oh i just used my brother's for testing to see if his computer is working fine with burning so i tried it again ON MY computer ... it doesn't working... i think i talk about hardware... *think*

i haven't try with nero yet... i have tried with cd writer hardware and it still isn't working... it shouldn't do that to me because it never happens to me before...

the reason i said cd-r usually opens up by itself so i can drag the files to burn it since i don't need a program for it... but now, should i get program NERO? ;) what if it still doesn't working... what can i do? should i take it to repair shop? hate spending $$ on fixing. -_-

Ok what does your brother burning his cds fine.. have anything to do with you?

and what do you mean cd writer hardware? I don't understand.. You need to use a software to make cds.. Are you saying you just drag your file into the cdrom and let it burn the files?

If you're doing it that way.. then I recommend to use a software. I never like burning it that way. I think its ineffcient.

Don't take it to the repair shop yet. You still have many ways to fix it. Try using nero before replying here again.

can i ask if you're trying to burn a cd or a dvd?

but it really sounds like you might be trying to load a dvd recordable disc into a cd writer and it can't read the disc to record because it's not a dvd writer therefore it can't open up the autoplay for you to pick your choices, but your brother's computer might be a dvd recordable computer and can read this disc and hence autoplay without a problem?

restoring your computer? as in system restore? i use that to save my life many times, it doesn't do damage, it helps you go back to your computer's old "working" state, while if you pick the correct times... as suggested by darvil, you should use a software because if you just use the drop utility from windows, the cd blocks and you can't add any files later on if you'd only saved a file that took up a little bit of space. this also causes you to waste lots of discs if you run into errors in the middle of the burning session because microsoft sucks.
