Do most thai stars come from wealthy families?

i dont think most of the thai stars come from wealthy families. I mean Weir's from Khon Kaen which is Isan. and i remember on WWYWY he took us to go see his hometown, and like their were alot of farms, and open markets. but iono about the other thai stars...

why does it seem to me, from you stating this you are saying that all people who are from the Esarn provinces are poor. that's such a bad generalization. there are many people from Esarn provinces that are wealthy from farms and etc. many industrial companies are located outside of bkk and mostly in rural areas. just because they are from Esarn doesn't mean they are not wealthy. same goes for...just because they don't look rich means they are poor

Well, Thai stars are human beings. Their day jobs are more exciting and colourful than ours, other than that, they are just like us - coming from all walks of lives. There are the filthy rich ones, the very poor ones, the average family ones, etc. So my guess is that no, only some of the Thai stars are from wealthy background.

Also, there might be a misconception that the lukkreungs are wealthy too. This however is not necessary true because those I know come from very average family background too.

Lastly, the word "wealthy" can be a subjective word. For instance, to some being wealthy is having a net worth of THB100m but to others it might be THB10m.

And one thing is for sure ... I ain't wealthy and I ain't a Thai star! Lol!!! But darn, am I very happy and living life to the fullest!

as for, do most thai stars come from wealthy families? right now yes, it's like a trend... the hi-so's and wealthier kids are seeing that it's fun to jump into the entertainment business, something like paris hilton---she doesn't need to be in the entertainment business, she's freaking wealthy and doesn't need to make anything and will have enough to raise her grandkid's kid!

in the past, a majority of the celebs were just good looking people who made it "in"... then there were a selective few who made it "in" with skills, like for instance, james reungsak, he struggled, oh boy, he struggled... then when he released his second album he got his break and made it big. like many has already said, back then it wasn't skills they were looking for, it was looks...

as for now, it's getting to more of a combo - looks + skills or looks + money, if mommy and pops has the cash, u will sure get attention!

but if u're not fully hot nor rich... then it'd be like some individuals, for example, tuk bonggot (sp?) lol... yes, she wasn't wealthy, she's not the hottest chick, she doesn't get much attention and she tends to do stupid crap to get attention, for example, coming out to the public that she's seeing some guy who has a wife and saying she didn't steal him... um.. yeah

connections get u very far in this industry. and wealth has much to do about connections... when u're poor u seem to have very little people who recognizes you, but right when it was discovered that you've won the lottery, all these relatives and friends just come from no where...lol
