Doua Moua was born on Monday, February 2 in Thailand to parents, Cher Tong Moua and Pang Chang, (although on government papers he is said to be born on the 7th of February). After 6 months the family immigrated to the United States. Moua grew up with a large family. He has one brother and three sisters. He started off his career with singing and climbed to be one of the well-known local Hmong actors in the Twin Cities for many years. He has contributed in many ways to the community. He has participated in many community and school plays, as well as Show Choir at the International School of MN. Being a son to a Moua clan leader, the actor finds pressure to live up to his father's, and his people's, expectations. Because of this, pursuing his dream of being an actor/performer was a challenge for Moua. He graduated from The International School of Minnesota in Eden Prairie in June 2005 with his three other cousins: Ka Moua, Yia Moua, and Ker Moua. He now lives in New York City and studies at Marymount Manhattan College while participating in off-Broadway plays and other acting jobs.
Moua is one of the most talented Hmong actors and singers. With his comedic timing, he broke many Minnesota community stages. Also with his acting talent he has surpassed many stereotypical Asian roles in many indie films in which he had the privilege to be involved. When you hear this young Asian actor-singer sing, you will not believe that such a powerful voice is embodied in this talented young man.
Moua is not just any ordinary Asian guy. Even though Moua's look is very versatile: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc., he still keeps his Hmong heritage well. In 2005 Moua hit the New York City stages for the first time. Being new to the New York City area he has already booked two off-Broadway shows in the month of January/February. He will be in the production "Whales" with the theatre company Where Dare Eagle, and the production "The Seagull" with the theatre company American Colors.
Doua Moua is the sweetest guy you would every meet. His Minnesotan persona will always make him unique. He is so friendly and always has a smile on his face, even when he is having a bad day. If you ever get a chance to meet this young talented man then you would know what I mean. He likes to learn from individuals that would share their stories and knowledge. He is young, hip, and talented. He is mature for his age and always has fun living life to fullest. - Toni

I feel bad though because I have never seen him performed before...I remember he told me to watch this one film that he and his friends made but I never got the chance to.
