PREFACE
"Unfortunately, I'm a spirit but whats more unfortunate is that I can't remember...I don't know who I was."
Its believed that a spirit must remain on Earth for 100 days to say their last good byes to their loved ones. Today was the first day of the one hundred days for Chakrit, however he doesn't remember who he is. He can't remember how he died, he can't remember anything about his life when he was still alive. Chakrit turned into a lonely ghost wondering here and there asking around to see if other ghosts had heard about his death or peeked into his life. Nothing. With nothing to remember and no one to say his final good byes to Chakrit waited eagerly for the one hundred days to pass. He was ready to start a new life in a different body with new memories. For days and nights, Chakrit sat on the curb of a busy highway listening to anyone, humans and spirits who happen to walk or drive by.
"100 days?" Chakrit said to himself. "Why couldn't it be 3 days, no 1 day? such a waste of time....who makes up these rules anyway?!" he sighed.
A gust of wind threw him off balance, this was heaven's warning sign, he knew.
"Sorry, I'm sorry!" he pleaded with both hands together. "Thank goodness I didn't say that when there was a storm, lighting might have struck me."
Chakrit rubbed his eyes, the sun's light was making it hard to see the cars passing him by. He watched the humans drive. Even though Chakri knew he could walk across the busy street without getting a scratch he still felt human enough to stay away. A couple was walking by, holding hands, the guy gave his girlfriend a kiss. Her phone rang and she picked up.
"Hello...yes love...No I'm at the market with a girlfriend." she lied to her husband.
The man she was having an affair with covered his mouth trying hard not to laugh out loud. Chakrit walked up behind the couple and hit the guy in the head with his knuckles, his knuckles went right through the guy's head. The couple felt a gust of wind pass them, the man looked around to see rather someone was playing a joke on him.
"Whats the matter, Love?" the woman asked.
"Did you feel that? the wind was stronger just now..."
"Yeah, I did too..." the couple ran away.
Chakrit laughed. "Moron, you'll feel sorry when she dumps you and finds someone else! People these days."
Chakrit went back to sit on the curb, becoming bored once again. Sitting there at the curb, Chakrit eavesdropped on everyone's conversation, he was surprised how many cheaters were out there. Chakrit was eager to meet someone anyone who would befriend him.
A car rode up to Chakrit one day, the person rolled down they're window and threw a bill into the tin can next to Chakrit. A bit confused he was wondering why this idiot would just threw money away into a can.
"Pee...where can I get to the Siam Theater?" asked Tik, he was the driver.
Chakrit's never heard of such a thing, what theater is that he wondered. Chakrit didn't answer and watched Tik blanky.
"Pee..." Tik asked Chakrit again.
Chakrit thought Tik was talking to some guy behind him, Chakrit checked behind him and no one was there.
"This guy's crazy, he's talking to the bush?" thought Chakrit. "But...he's looking right at me...as if he's talking to me..."
"Pee...do you know? Come on, I'm helping you." Tik pointed to the tin can next to Chakrit. "See? I'm paying you to help me a little here."
Chakrit glanced at the tin can then looked at Tik again.
"Do you not understand?" asked Tik.
Tik was talking to him, Chakrit was so happy, he's found another ghost. Chakrit was so glad, he got up and walked quickly to Tik's car side.
"Thank goodness!! You don't know how long I've been waiting for someone whose like me. And with a car...a very nice car..."
"Hey, what are you doing?! Stop rubbing my car with you're dirty hands! I didn't tell you to come here, go back over there."
Chakrit was so happy, he ignored Tik. "So how many more days do you have?! You mustn't have that many days, left huh? Which day can you get a car? Siam Theater, is that were we all gather to get reincarnated?"
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Tik looked at how Chakrit was dressed, thinking that he's met a person whose escaped from a mental institute. "You really are dumb, aren't you?"
"I'm not dumb, oh...you're a newbie and you haven't accepted yet."
Tik raised an eye brow. "Accepted what?"
Chakrit whispered. "Accepted that you're dead."
"...No...I don't think I'm dead, I think you're nuts though."
"Humph...You mean..you're alive?"
"Last time I checked..." Tik felt his pulse on his wrist. "I'm still alive. I'm not wasting my time anymore. I have to get to the Siam Theater...you...never mind. Take you're hands off my car, please"
Chakrit did as he was told. Tik rolled up his windows quickly and drove off following the cars on the highway.
Chakrit sat back down on the curb wondering what had just happened. He slapped his cheeks to see rather he was alive or not. He walked to the tin can and kicked it but his foot went right through it. He wasn't alive.
"...He's alive...but he can see me?...Maybe he has the sixth sense..."
