Chapter 22
---In the Car---
Tik was driving on the freeway. Just passing the exit that lead to Captain’s mansion. Kob watched the exit as it passed her.
Kob: “You just missed the exit” She looked at him for answers, but his eyes were strictly on the road. He reached for his earpiece and dial on his cellphone.
Tik: “Get Tun Tanxingorn for me, tell him to arrive at Jessadaporn’s massion immediately.”
Kob: “Tun Tanxingorn? That sounds familiar.” She leaned back and thought.
Tik: “He’s Dr. Tanxingorn’s son. He’s also a doctor.”
Kob: “Wait. You’re taking me to your mansion? I’ve said I wanted to go to Captain’s mansion not yours.”
Tik: “You said you wanted me to take you home, so that is what I am doing. Sit still, I don’t want to get a ticket.” Kob sneered at him all the way to his mansion. It took him hours, his house was at the end of the city where he could have all the space he had wanted.
Once reaching the mansion. Kob could see a young man standing on the steps of the Mansion, along side was two maids. As the car drove up to the entrance and stopped, Kob got out before Tik had shut the engine off.
Kob: “You must be Dr. Tanxingorn’s son, Tun Tanxingorn right?”
Tun: “Right. Have you met my father?”
Kob: “Just for a brief moment.”
Tun; “Ow. Is your hand injure, there’s blood stain all over your towel?” he asked in a worried tone. He hates seeing an injure person in front of him and is unable to help out. Without second thoughts he seated her down the steps to the mansion door and quickly clean her wounds.
Tik: “Couldn’t you do that inside?” he was a bit jealous that Tun didn’t ask for premission before caring for his wife.
Tun: “Sorry. But it’s urgent. From the looks of the wound, they’ve been swollen, the wound must have been there for an half an hour at least.”
Kob: “The puncture wounds are small. Don’t worry. I’ve lost more blood then this before and I didn’t die.” She glance at Tik, suggesting he knew what she was talking about.
Tun: “I don’t worry about that, I’m sure you are a strong women. I’m just afriad your wounds might get infected with bacteria.” Kob whimpered as he applied a liquid that stinged her hand very bad. "Bear with me miss, even though it stings, it’ll help heal the wound. When wrapping the bandage around her hand, he had remembered she hadn’t introduced herself to him.
Tik put his hands on Kob’s shoulder and rose her to her feet. But she immediately removed his hands and took a step aside him.
Tik: “Thank you Tun. By the way, you should ask me before touching my wife like that.”
Tun: “You’re wife? I’m sorry I didn’t know.”
Kob: “You don’t have to say sorry Tun. That small mistake can not compare to what you did just now, helping me.” Kob’s kindness to other men made Tik sick to his stomach.
The sun was setting when Tun left. Tik ordered the two maids to fix dinner. As they took off running Tik invited Kob into the house but she didn’t move an inch.
Kob: “It’s alright. I’ll take a taxi to Captain’s house, now that my hand is bandage up.”
Tik: “I don’t think that’s the right thing to do. Think of it, if you go to Captain’s house people would think you’re cheating on me with him. And they’ll think why the older sister is having an affair with the younger sister’s fianance.” Kob didn’t argue with him, she turned back to his car, jerked the door open and took out Tik’s cellphone. She was about to dial Captain’s home phone number, but Tik grabbed hold of the cell before she could press the last number. He took a look at the phone number inserted in his cell phone and grined. “Even when I told you not to go to his place, you still urge to call him huh?”
Kob: “I just wanted to call him to make sure he knows I’m safe, and for my sisters not to worry.” She jacked the cellphone from Tik, and walked into the house, sitting herself in on the sofa. When she dial the phone number it was busy, Tik came by and sat by her side. Kob scooted further and dialed the phone again, and it was still busy. Tik scoot closer, and Kob got off the sofa, tipping Tik over to the hand of the sofa. She was about lay the cellphone onto the coffee table, but it ranged. Quickly she put it to her ear and waited for an answer.
Cherman: “Hello Tik kah? I was worried about you so I called to check. I’ve called you five times after you left me at the park, but you didn’t answer the phone. Are you getting sick? Should I come over? Remember that if your wife isn’t treating you well, you always have me.” She giggled flirtatiously. Kob was on the other line. Her face was flaming anger.
Kob: “Why don’t you wait until someone answer before saying all your lovely words, you spoked to the wrong person.”
Cherman: “Ahaha. I’m glad you heard my words anyway. That way there’s no hard feeling in the future.”
Kob: “Oh ho, there’s no hard feelings. Do not stress out, I don’t think you’ll be having any problem with me, only with Tik. You want to talk to Tik huh?” She spoke swiftly, lended the cellphone to Tik. “Take it, it’s your ‘LOVER’ calling.” She sarcastically quoted lover. Tik harshly snatch the phone from her hand. He listen to the phone for awhile and then shut it off. Just a second later he called to change his cellphone number. “You’re trying to hide your affair? Earlier you were worried I might have an affair and make your reputation look bad. But when you’re the one doing it there’s nothing wrong.” She snapped at him.
Tik: “There will not be an affairs in our marriage. We can’t live with misunderstanding.”
Kob: “It’s good to have misunderstandings, that why you can learn from your mistakes.”
Tik: “So changing my phone number was a mistake?” he looked at her for the answer, but she herself didn’t know either. He grabbed Kob’s wrist and dragged her into the kitchen where he pulled out a hammer from the cabinet. Letting go of her hand once he laid the cellphone on the counter, and had the hammer in one hand. “Out of marriages, cellphones are one thing that causes misunderstandings.” Tik whack the cellphone, cracking the phone apart, the wires were begining to stick out all frizzy and misplace. Kob shriek at each blow he took, smashing the cellphone into pieces. “You and I will not have a cellphone, not until we learn to trust each other.” He turned to watch Kob’s expression, but it wasn’t the look he wanted, Kob was smirking and left the kitchen back to the living room where she picked up the home phone. Tik rushed in and held the phone, along with Kob’s hand that was still clutched to it.
Kob: “I’m going to call Captain. He’s your friend, and my soon to be brother in law.”
Tik: “Not tonight. Tonight is our night to settle our dispute.” He jerked the phone away from Kob and placed it back in it’s spot. “If you don’t mind, we need to change our clothing before we talk. I don’t want neither of us getting sick, and using that as an excuse to get away from the discussions.” He stared at her before heading upstairs. He didn’t have to worry that Kob might run away again, he knew Kob wanted to end the marriage, so she wouldn’t want to miss the occasion of settling the deal.
It was a minute later, when one of Tik’s maids came and leaded Kob to a small room to change. To her suprise her suitcase of clothing was there. It must have been the doings of her sisters, how close they had gotten to Tik during her stay in England, she did not know. Were they all on Tik’s side, did he brainwash them? She was going to get the answers that night.
Tik was in usual blue silk pajamas, with a white robe over. After a short and warm shower, Kob went through her suitcase trying to find the right outfit for the occasion. She pulled out a black silk laced sleeping gown she had purchase in England. When she slid the gown on it came down to her knee, to hid any further appearances she wore a white robe over, not tighting the robe enough so the center of her lace gown would show.
A maid leaded her up the stairs and into Tik’s bedroom. It was gigantic, it took out half of the second floor. His room had a huge yellow chandelier glowing up above the ceiling. A huge Arabic carpet lay across the room, stitch of red and gold threads created swirls. At the very middle of the room a large bed rested, a thin red mosquito net was tied to the end of each pole. White fluffy pillows eased near the head of the beautiful wooden structure headboard. Within the bed a red fluffy quilt was folded nicely on the foot of the bed with white sheets underneath.
The maid left instantly when Kob entered. Tik stood in the middle of the room, tapping his chin and watched Kob as she approached him.
Kob: “You should begin the discussion, since you’re the one who has problems.” She stopped when she stood inches from him, her head raised and angle to stare him in the eyes.
Tik: “You’ve grown Kob. You legs and your arms are longer. You’re body structure had grown into a mature women since the last time I’ve seen you.”
Kob: “DISCUSSION! Stay on topic.” She waved her hands in front of his face, distracting him from studing her.
Tik: “Yeah. Yeah. The discussion.” He shooked her head, trying to get Kob’s image out of his mind, she had look stunning the moment she walked in, he had almost forgotten everything. “About the marriage papers. You wanted to traid it in for your freedom?”
Kob: “If you put it that way. Yes. I give your belongings to back to you, and you give me my freedom in exchange.”
Tik: “I didn’t agree to sign my name on the marriage papers. You had forged my signature, you know it’s a crime.”
Kob: “You’re going to sign it sooner or later anyway. There’s no problem of signing it for you. You got your money, so that’s it.”
Tik: “You know yourself that it is not done yet.”
Kob: “It’s done on my side, but you still have your side to finish.”
Tik: “What if I don’t cooperate?” He leaned closer to her, his nose touching hers.
Kob: “If you don’t cooperate...” she poked his chest to further him. “I’ll make you suffer.” Her words sharp like daggers.
Tik: “Even if you kill me, I won’t cooperate. I’ll never agree to a divorce. And if you ever tired forging my hand writting agian I’ll get rid of whomever is helping you.” He warned her of who he was talking about.
Kob: “Don’t worry, I’ll make you cooperate. I don’t need his help anymore.” She shouted at him.
Tik: “Good. Very good.” He bit his lips and touched her chin, raising her gaze to him. “Why not make today our honeymoon?” After his words he lifted her to her feet, carrying her toward the bed.
Kob: “Aren’t you afraid you might hurt the alien inside me?” He suddenly stared at Kob, his eyes widen from the hint she gave him. Slowly he put her down onto the bed, Kob scoot to the middle and relax her head on the pillows. “You’re afraid of hurting it aren’t you?” she smiled evilly. Tik didn’t answer, but got on side of the bed, releasing the mosquito net from the poles, fluttering to the floor and spreading them around the bed. When the net was covering the whole bed, he turend to Kob.
