Chapter 3
Upon entering the home, Tha was surprised to see that no one was in sight. "Jay.. Jay? Where are you?" She searched around the living room and placed her index finger on her lips. "Just where is everybody?"
The silence ended with a scream from the kitchen. Tha's heart began thumping louder and louder, racing towards the kitchen.
Jay was in tears holding her father close to her chest. "Papa, Papa!!!"
"Dear, Dear... wake up.. wake up.." teared the mother.
Tha entered the kitchen and slowly gasped. She ran toward Jay while throwing her bag onto the ground. She knelt down next to Jay's father, and reached for his hand, trying to find his pulse. Tha looked upward at Jay. "What happened?"
Jay was speechless and just shook her head. "I don't know.. I only heard a bang when I entered the kitchen..."
Tha then felt a slight pulse. "Not good, not good. Have you called for an emergency ambulance?" Tha lifted the father's eyelids and slowly examined the movement. It's really not good!."
"What's wrong Tha? What's wrong with my husband?"
"I can't say for sure, but this isn't a good sign. We have to take him to the hospital now."
Jay quickly got up, placing her father next to Tha. "I'll .. I'll go get my car started.."

Lapin let out a slight sigh as he rubs his arms. "It's quite chilly tonight." He walked toward the bedroom window and gazed outside. "I wonder how long the rain will continue.."
He stretched for a slight while and hopped into bed. Gazing at the empty ceiling, he let out another sigh. "You can't sleep again huh?"
As he tossed and turned in bed, a small throbbing pain began to form in his head. Lapin begins to cringe from the pain and clenched his fists. "WHY CAN'T YOU JUST GO AWAY?!?!" he shouts in anger as he gasps for air.
He turns his head to the face-down picture frame. "It's not like you'll ever see me again.. right?" The pain slowly dissolves away and he relaxed his muscles. He let out another sigh. "Yeah, I bet we'll never meet again in this lifetime." He sets the picture frame faced up, and slowly tried to doze off.

"Jay, let me drive instead." said Tha in a worried tone as she holds Jay's father in the back seat.
"It's alright, I got it." Calming herself down, Jay whispers positive thoughts. "Everything will be fine Papa.. You're the strongest person I know.. Everything will definitely be fine."
"Jay, be careful ok." Tha looked at the window. "Drive safely, it's still raining hard.."
"Don't worry Tha, we're almost there to the hospital."
At that very moment, someone threw a big rock at the car's windshield.
Shocked, Jay accidentally swerved the car to the other side of the slippery road. Unable to step on the brakes, the car eventually fell into a deep ditch. By now, Jay was going in and out of consciousness with some streams of blood coming down her face due to the heavy impact of hitting the steering wheel. Tha on the other hand, broke her left wrist from the impact of the seat and received a deep cut on her right shoulder due to the loose seat-belt. She was also going in and out of consciousness. Jay's father's condition also worsened.
A group of men walked toward the car while giggling to themselves. "Good job boys, the car looks quite expensive." said the Leader of the group.
"They might be some high-society people."
"It's a pity that the car isn't worth anymore though."
A younger man with some rocks in his hand walked forward. As he saw the car and license plate number, his hand dropped the rocks. He began shaking and breathing heavily as he hurriedly walk to the car.
"Hey, hey, hey. What are you rushing for? Get in the back of the line!" says the leader.
The young man ignored him as he opens the front door. Seeing who was in the front seat, his legs lost strength and tears slowly formed on his face. "P.. P.. P'Jay..."
Scared, he looks around and then to the group. "T-this car.. it's my sister's car.."
"Oh shit! Oh shit!" says one of the guys. "Boss, what do we do now."
"Do we still do the usual.. "
"Or do we bail out..?"
The leader clenched his fist. "Damn it! It was such a good catch today." After a few seconds he finally gave an order. "Hey you, Nathee. We were never a part of this. We don't know you, you don't know us. We split from here on out."
Nathee's eyes widened. "What are you talking about? We can't just leave them here? They're my family!"
"Sorry boy, that's life. You must've done some bad stuff in your previous life to get this karma." said the Boss as the started walking off. "It's really such a pity tonight."
Nathee clenched his fist. "FUCK YOU! YOU THREW THE DAMN ROCK!" By now, the men were already gone. Nathee was lost in confusion, he didn't know what to do.
*RingRing*
He heard a phone ringing inside from the car. He goes for it. "H-h-hello..?"
"Nathee? Is this Nathee? Why do you have the phone? Where's Jay. Let me talk to her."
"M-Mom.. M-mom.."
"What is it? Let me talk to Jay.. or Tha. Any of the two will be fine. I need to know the condition of your father. Are you guys already at the hospital?"
"What do you mean Father?"
"Aren't you with them son? Aren't you guys at the hospital? Father is unconscious..."
Hearing those words, Nathee dropped the phone. He then goes to opens the back car door. His hand automatically covered his mouth when he saw Tha and his father.
Gasping heavily for air, Nathee tries shouting out for help. "H-HELP!! SOMEBODY!!"
"NATHEE!! NATHEE!! WHAT'S THE MATTER!!!??!!!"
He quickly picked up the phone again from the ground. "M-mom.. P'Jay them got into an accident..."
"Jay.. Dear.. s-son..." Hearing those words from Nathee, his mother fainted on the other line.
"Mom.. Mom!!" Nathee rubbed his eyes. "FUCK!! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!?!"
Biting his thumbs, he finally came up with a conclusion. "P-police.. That's right.. call the police." He quickly dialed the emergency number.

Watt slightly yawned as he covered his mouth. "I'm so tired." He looks at his wristwatch. "I can't believe there was no undercover mission tonight."
A policeman barged into Watt's office.
"Lieutenant!!"
Watt looked at him. "What's with the worried look?"
"There's been an accident. A young man just called in and said that his family got into an accident, At the moment, they're all unconscious except for the boy."
"Well let's get going. Contact the ambulances too. I'll head out first, link me the location via the gps."
"Got it Lieutenant!"
Watt entered his car, flashed on the emergency lights and stormed off into the darkness of the night. "This shall be my mission for tonight instead."

Lapin slowly opened his eyes to check what fell. "Nothing looks out of place.." he murmured to himself.
As he begins to drift back to sleep, he realized that the picture frame went missing. He swiftly got up and checked the floor.
Seeing the frame on the ground, the small throbbing pain came back into his head. "Just what is up with this throbbing pain and the frame."
He gently picked up the frame and placed it back onto the side table. As he looks at the picture, a suspicious feeling came upon him. He squints hardly at the picture. "Am I missing something?" He shook his head. Confused, he put on his shoes and overcoat. "I need a drink badly!"

Chapter 4
Nathee was sitting in the passenger's seat, waiting for the police to arrive. "Come on come on.. Where are you guys at?"
He rocked his body back and forth. "Father.. I'm sorry.." He looked over to Jay. "P'Jay.. I didn't mean to.." He begins hitting his head with his fist. "Stupid! Stupid!! Stupid!!"
Tha slowly twitched as she tried to open her eyes. "J.. Jay.." she whispered.
Nathee paused and looked back. "Tha.. P'Tha!!"
Tha slowly opened her eyes. "Nathee.. where are we?" She tried to support herself up from the seat. She let out a low moan due to the pain from her wrist.. "Ahh, my wrist."
After focusing her eyes, she finally remembered Jay's father. "Oh my goodness!" Even though Tha's body was in pain, she unbuckled herself and tried her best to support their father. She tried to find his pulse but there was none.
Tha laid his cold body on her lap. "I'm sorry Father, I couldn't do anything..." She looked to the side and silently cried. "I'm sorry.."
Nathee was in plain shock. "Tha.. P'Tha.. You're kidding right?" He begins shaking her. "Tha.. What are you doing? Help him." Nathee looked at his father and then back to Tha. "Look at him. He's just sleeping. There's no way what so ever that he'll leave us with that peaceful smile on his face." He continued shaking Tha. "Come on.. You're a doctor!!!"
Tha couldn't take it anymore and shoved Nathee away. "I'm not even a doctor! Just a trainee!" The tears continued pouring down her face. "What am I supposed to do? There's nothing here. Just an empty road..." Tha suddenly went quiet as she began to think.
Her eyes gazed at Nathee. "Wait a minute.. "
Nathee stayed still.
"What are you doing here?" questioned Tha in a suspicious tone.
He avoided her gaze. "W-what do you mean P'Tha...?"
"Basing from where we're at.. this isn't a typical a jog one would run.."
"I- I always run this far and late at night."
Tha squinted her eyes. "That's not true.. "
Sirens started whirring from afar. "L-looks like helps here.. I'll get out." Nathee quickly got out of the car. He began fiddling his thumbs as he walks over to the street in the dead of night.
Tha looked over to Jay and whispered. "Jay.. wake up... Jay.. "

Lieutenant Watt saw a young man by the side of the road and pulled over. He got out of the car and began questioning the man.
"How many of you are there? How's their conditions?"
"One of them woke up.. but the other two.. I don't know.." answered Nathee in a fearful tone.
Watt looked at him suspiciously. "Were you in the car too?"
"No.." "Yes.." "Wait.. No.."
"What's the correct answer? I don't have time for this." Annoyed, Watt walked over to the car. He pulled out his flashlight and flashed it inside the car. He took out his walkies-talkie and gave out codes and information. "We have four people in the accident. Two males and two females." He looked over to Nathee. "One of the male looks completely fine, as for the other three. I'm not sure. They're all unconscious."
Jay slowly raised her head from the steering wheel and looked at the man outside with her bloody eyes. "Pa-pa.." She tried to grasp the door handle with her hand, but slipped, eventually hitting the car horns. "Pa-pa.." she whispered.
Lieutenant Watt rushed to her side, opening the door. "Are you alright miss?"
"Pa-pa... papa.."
He went to open the back doors. "Is he your father?" He went to reach for a pulse, eventually moving his hand to the man's nose. He again communicated with the walkies-talkie. "Update, one of the ladies just woke up. I have bad news though, one of the man is dead." Watt touched the man's skin. "Cold, his skin is cold. Judging by the body temperature, he's been dead for awhile. His skin is already turning blue."
Jay shook her head while covering her ears. "No.. No.. Nooo.. That's not true... that's not true!!!!" She begins to scream hysterically. "NOT TRUE NOT TRUE NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!"
Lieutenant Watt closed the door, and carefully examined the car. He continued talking to the walkies-talkie. "This doesn't seem like a normal accident. The windshield is totally cracked. There's no sign of them hitting anything.."
Nathee walked over to the policeman. "I can't stay here.. I've gotta inform my mother... I think she fainted on the other line earlier.. I need to check up on her.."
Watt bit his lip, making a decision. "Fine, but give me your name and address. I'll get someone to drop you off."
Right when the Lieutenant said that, the other patrol cars came rushing through. "Hey you!" Watt signaled for one of the policeman to com forward.
"What is it boss?"
"I need you to send this fellow home. After sending him home, I need you to check up on his mother's condition." Watt leaned in closer to the man. "Watch over him carefully. I'll swing by afterwards."
"G-got it boss!" He turned to Nathee. "You, come with me." Nathee followed the man shortly and left.
Watt looked at the location in the rainy pitched darkness. "Something isn't right.."
"Boss, boss.. the lady in the front.. she fainted.."
Watt gave a slight sigh. "Put her in my car. I'll take her to the hospital. Tell the ambulance to hurry it up!"
"Yes boss."
The worker carried Jay out of the car and gently placed her in the Lieutenant's car.
"Alright, I'll get going first. Make sure to examine the area good. There's something suspicious in the air.. I've got a gut feeling.."
As he entered his car, he gave a disappointed look at Jay. "You look horrible.." Watt swiftly drove off the scene, heading straight to the hospital.

Lapin was back at Chen's place.
"Hey, hey.. well what do you know? You're back." smiled Chen.
"Yes, yes.. I'm back." answered Lapin.
"Sorry, but I'm closing right now."
"Why? It's still so early."
Chen shook his head. "No it's not." He points to the clock on the wall. "It's already half past twelve."
"Come on, that's super early... " whines Lapin.
"The law is the law.. I won't lose my pub over something like this.
"Come on Chen.. just once."
Chen folded his arms. "Fine, but only one shot. That's it."
"Two."
"One!"
"Fine, fine.. make it a big glass then."
"You get what you get, so stop complaining."
"Thank you."
As Chen passed Lapin his shot. Lapin gazed at the portrait on the wall. "Something doesn't feel right today Chen."
"Why do you say?"
"I don't know.. I got these horrible headaches lately. Today happened to be the worst ones.."
"Have you gone to the doctors?"
"No, I don't need to."
Chen rolled his eyes. "Sure, sure.."
Lapin stared at his shot. "My picture frame on the side table also fell..."
"Frame? That's never a good sign.."
"I know, that's what I'm saying."
"You mind me asking who was in the frame?" asked the curious Chen as he wipes his glass cups.
"Me and my ex."
"Hmm, I don't know what to say.. except for be careful?"
Lapin drank the shot and got up. "Thanks for the shot... I'll get going now.."
"Hey.. wait!!" said Chen. It was already too late, Lapin had already walked out of the pub.
A chill went up Chen's spine. "Brr... it's so creepy.. thank goodness my ex's are all married..."

Lieutenant Watt closed the door, and carefully examined the car. He continued talking to the walkies-talkie. "This doesn't seem like a normal accident. The windshield is totally cracked. There's no sign of them hitting anything.."
Nathee walked over to the policeman. "I can't stay here.. I've gotta inform my mother... I think she fainted on the other line earlier.. I need to check up on her.."
Watt bit his lip, making a decision. "Fine, but give me your name and address. I'll get someone to drop you off."
Right when the Lieutenant said that, the other patrol cars came rushing through. "Hey you!" Watt signaled for one of the policeman to com forward.
"What is it boss?"
"I need you to send this fellow home. After sending him home, I need you to check up on his mother's condition." Watt leaned in closer to the man. "Watch over him carefully. I'll swing by afterwards."
"G-got it boss!" He turned to Nathee. "You, come with me." Nathee followed the man shortly and left.
Watt looked at the location in the rainy pitched darkness. "Something isn't right.."
"Boss, boss.. the lady in the front.. she fainted.."
Watt gave a slight sigh. "Put her in my car. I'll take her to the hospital. Tell the ambulance to hurry it up!"
"Yes boss."
The worker carried Jay out of the car and gently placed her in the Lieutenant's car.
"Alright, I'll get going first. Make sure to examine the area good. There's something suspicious in the air.. I've got a gut feeling.."
As he entered his car, he gave a disappointed look at Jay. "You look horrible.." Watt swiftly drove off the scene, heading straight to the hospital.

Lapin was back at Chen's place.
"Hey, hey.. well what do you know? You're back." smiled Chen.
"Yes, yes.. I'm back." answered Lapin.
"Sorry, but I'm closing right now."
"Why? It's still so early."
Chen shook his head. "No it's not." He points to the clock on the wall. "It's already half past twelve."
"Come on, that's super early... " whines Lapin.
"The law is the law.. I won't lose my pub over something like this.
"Come on Chen.. just once."
Chen folded his arms. "Fine, but only one shot. That's it."
"Two."
"One!"
"Fine, fine.. make it a big glass then."
"You get what you get, so stop complaining."
"Thank you."
As Chen passed Lapin his shot. Lapin gazed at the portrait on the wall. "Something doesn't feel right today Chen."
"Why do you say?"
"I don't know.. I got these horrible headaches lately. Today happened to be the worst ones.."
"Have you gone to the doctors?"
"No, I don't need to."
Chen rolled his eyes. "Sure, sure.."
Lapin stared at his shot. "My picture frame on the side table also fell..."
"Frame? That's never a good sign.."
"I know, that's what I'm saying."
"You mind me asking who was in the frame?" asked the curious Chen as he wipes his glass cups.
"Me and my ex."
"Hmm, I don't know what to say.. except for be careful?"
Lapin drank the shot and got up. "Thanks for the shot... I'll get going now.."
"Hey.. wait!!" said Chen. It was already too late, Lapin had already walked out of the pub.
A chill went up Chen's spine. "Brr... it's so creepy.. thank goodness my ex's are all married..."
