Yeah, I'm hoping there will be a part 2 because it never said how or why some people can jump.
At first I thought it might be genetic, it obviously wasn't his father so I thought maybe it was his mom and it's why she left. Turns out she knows about jumpers because she's one of those people who kills them, that's why she left him but she can't teleport.

I thought it kinda sucked. I don't know if it's just me, but the convos between Hayden and that girl is just awkward. Did you guys noticed when he went "it's always been you...since we were five." I just felt awkward during that scene. And it's like I got the movie but I don't. I don't want to spoil it for people, but the ending was not as satisfying. They're just going to come for him again.
lol I think that scene was meant to be awkward, afterall she was in a way trying to break up with him or leave him after he returned her home but he insisted on telling her that he's been in love with her since he was 5 years old. In a real situation like that, it would definitely be awkward.
What bugged me was the fact that they didn't explain how this jumping thing started or what happened to that other jumper, did he ever go back to free the guy or just left him there?

I agree. There are so many unanswered questions. I wonder why Hayden didn't kill Samuel Jackson since Samuel killed his dad. I would've killed him instead of just leaving him free. Also, that convo is pretty awkward. I mean...five years old? They never even showed us when they were five. The movie started out with them being at what 12 years old? Anyways, to leave this short, they could've made this movie better than it is. Hayden's gorgeous to look at though

huh? I don't remember them saying anything about magic or witchcraft. I remember them saying that it dated back as far as medieval times but his friend didn't explain how or why it started.
Witchcraft is a form of belief and practice, it doesn't explain why some people are born able to jump and others aren't.
They said that the people trying to kill the jumpers were religious fanatics because they thought these people were abominations, that only God should be able to be anywhere at anytime.
hmmm strange i though this movie would be a lot better ...........but sadly a big disappointment to me..................soooooooooo many question left unanswer and more keep rising after the movie was over..........the action was good but...................(sigh.......) :unsure:

finally got to see this movie.

You know... I think I'd rather be teleporting to different parts of the world with David Rice than jumping from tree to tree with Edward Cullen. lol
I thought it was a nice subtle romantic/superhero/scientific movie. It had a little bit of everything. I do agree with some of you though. I wished they explained how jumpers started jumping.
Anywho, this movie is loosely based on a novel by the same name. In the novel, he actually discovered that he could teleport when tries to get away from the hands of his abusive father. His mother was also abused by his father, but was later killed in a hijacked airplane. And as for Millie, he met her later on in life and not when they were 5. The novel wasn't emphasizing a superhero type situation like the movie. It was rather more of an emotional struggle of a young man. He'd try to get away from the distress by jumping/teleporting, but in the end, he had to face his demons.
