Chapter Two

“Oyy! OYY! Jeb na P’Oh!”
Pasut massaged his left cheek and his older sister in law burst into laughter.
“That’s not funny!” snapped Pasut.
“Chai,” agreed P’Gunchai, Pasut’s older brother. “Just look at his face. It’s not funny but it’s hilarious!”
He snorted a few times and burst into laughter too. Nadech, who was leaning on the wall nearby, couldn’t help but to laugh too.
“Aow what’re you laughing at?” Pasut asked Nadech. “You’re not any better than I am. You met your koo kaeng too didn’t you?”
“At least I didn’t get beat up by a girl,” said Nadech.
“Toh aoey!” spat Pasut. “This makes me so angry!”
“Was she pretty?” asked P’Gun.
“Gaw…okay na,” replied Pasut. “Why do you ask that?”
“Nothing,” answered P’Gun. “Just asking because you might’ve been so stunned by her beauty to just stand there and let her smack you with that purse like that.”
“It’s not even like that,” said Pasut.
“You’d better be careful na,” said P’Oh. “There is a saying that goes if glied arai gaw jur nun. Better be careful.”
“Chai,” agreed Nadech.
“Chai arai?” asked P’Oh. “That applies to you too. I heard that you got told off good by that younger sister, eh? You’d better be careful too.”
“Mai bpen rai na, P’Oh,” said Nadech. “Just a little girl, I can handle it.”
Pasut laughed.
“Your way of handling her is strange, huh?” asked Pasut. “She was the one yapping at you the whole time and you didn’t even say anything back.”
“Gaw…
“Aow la, aow la,” said P’Oh. “Mae, it seems like you’re both brave and cool but tee nai dai, those two girls taught you both a lesson.”
She laughed and trotted off into the kitchen.
“Nee Pasut, when you go somewhere, don’t tell people you’re my younger brother because I don’t want people to know that my younger brother, who is a cop, got smacked by a young girl,” said P’Gun. “How embarassing.”
Shaking his head, he too, walked away.
“Mai dai,” said Nadech. “We must do something.”
“Chai,” agreed Pasut. “We must do something to get our revenge.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” asked Nadech. “I’m referring to our case.”
“Oh,” said Pasut.

“One more glass! One more glass!”
Yaya and Sara toasted with their friends and drank away as they danced at their table. They were all tipsy and suddenly Yaya had the urge to go to the bathroom.
“I’ll be right back,” she told the gals at her table.
“Where are you going?” asked Sara.
“To the restroom,” replied Yaya. “I’ll be back in a minute.”
Yaya staggered through the dancing crowd to the restroom and without looking up she ran straight into a few young women who were leaving the restroom.
“Watch where you’re going,” said one of the ladies.
Yaya looked up at the three of them with her eyes half open.
“Who are you talking to?” she asked them. “How dare you speak to me like that? Do you know who I am?”
One of the ladies grunted and stepped forward in Yaya’s face.
“And just who do you think you are?” she asked.
Yaya smiled with confidence and stepped up to her level.
“I am the owner of this place,” said Yaya. “Roo sa duay.”
Yaya pushed the young woman, who was caught by her friends before she hit the wall behind them.
“Nee!” exclaimed the young woman. “If you’re drunk now, you should go home. Don’t ruin everyone else’s good time by your nonsense. You said you’re the owner here? Pssht! You look like a teenager. Does your parents even know you’re here?”
Yaya pushed her again and the woman’s friends pushed her back. Next thing, they all surrounded her and one woman was about to slap her when a voice yelled stop.
They all turned around and backed away from Yaya.
“What’s going on?”
It was none other than Officer Nadech.
“Mai mee arai ka,” said one of the young women and they all walked away.
“Oh it’s you,” said Yaya.
“It must be a bad day for me,” said Officer Nadech, shaking his head. “What are you doing here?”
“None of your business,” replied Yaya.
She felt vomit travelling up her throat and pushed him away but he grabbed her.
“Nee khun, I’m talking to you,” said Officer Nadech. “We need to clear up some things.”
Yaya tried to push him away but she was too weak and drunk to handle his strength at the moment.
“Move away,” said Yaya.
“Mai,” said Officer Nadech. “I’m going to take you to the pol…
“ARGHH.”
She had vomited all over him.
“Hey!” exclaimed Nadech. “Are you really that drunk?”
“I…
Next thing, she collapsed into his arms.
“Khun! Khun!”
He tried to shake her into opening her eyes again but gave up after realizing that she was indeed in a horrible state. She was very, VERY drunk. Officer Nadech extracted his cell from his pocket and phones his best friend, Officer Pasut.
“Hey, where are you now?” asked Officer Nadech.
“I’m here examining the place,” replied Officer Pasut. “Where else could I be? Taam dai.”
“Well are you still at the table?” asked Officer Nadech.
“No, I’m on the second level,” replied Officer Pasut. “I just saw…
“I’ve gotta situation here,” said Officer Nadech, interrupting. “I need your help.”
“Hah?” asked Officer Pasut.
“Can you pull up the car to the front?” asked Officer Nadech. “I’ll explain later.”
“But our job here isn’t done,” said Officer Pasut.
“Just do it,” said Officer Nadech. “We can come back and check up on it. I really need your help right now.”
“Uh uh, okay,” said Officer Pasut.
He put his phone back into his pocket and shook his head.
“Aie baa aoey,” said Officer Pasut. “What’ve you gotten into now?”

Officer Nadech carried Yaya outside to the front of the club. When his buddy recognized that it was Yaya, one of the girls that they had gotten into it with earlier, it came as a shock to him.
“Hey!”exclaimed Officer Pasut. “That’s…that’s that girl! How did she…
“Will you stop asking questions?” asked Officer Nadech. “Help me out here. Open the door.”
Officer Pasut nodded and opened the back door. Officer Nadech put her in and closed the door.
“What’s going on man?” asked Officer Pasut. “We’re here to work not pick up girls, especially this one.”
“It’s a long story,” said Officer Nadech. “She’s really drunk and almost got beat up and she is definitely out of her mind.”
“You’re out of your mind,” said Officer Pasut. “What will she think of us when she wakes up? She’ll probably assume that we raped her or something and cut us up into pieces!”
“Whoa, don’t you think that’s too much?” asked Officer Nadech. “Let’s get out of here first. We can come back later. This place is open all night, remember?”
“Okay fine,” said Officer Pasut. “Where do you want to take her?”
“I don’t know,” replied Officer Nadech. “I think maybe to P’Oh and we can let P’Oh take care of her so it doesn’t create a bad image for us. Two guys looking after a drunk woman, it…it just doesn’t feel right. It’s inappropriate.”
“Alright,” said Officer Pasut. “But if she wakes up and starts throwing tantrums, I have nothing to do with it.”
“Okay, fine.”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sara woke up the next morning comfortably in her own bed. It was late afternoon and she had completely forgotten what had happened the night before. There was a soft knock on her bedroom door and she told the knocker to come in.
She felt a little dizzy and tried to remember what had happened.
“I’ve brought you some congee soup ka,” said the maid, Nuan. “Perhaps, it might make you feel better from all the alcohol last night.”
“Alcohol? Was I drunk?” asked Sara.
“Ka, very drunk,” replied Nuan, setting the food down on the coffee table in front of her bed. “Your friends drove you home last night.”
“Hah?”
“As for Khun Noo Yaya, she is…missing.”
“HAH? WHAT DO YOU MEAN MISSING?!”
Sara was now standing up in bed.
“Uh…Khun…
Suddenly, she remembered that Yaya had went to the restroom last night and never returned to the table.
“TAI LAEW!”

“AHH!!!”
Officer Pasut and Nadech opened their eyes and stood up from the sofa. They were alerted by the screeching sound coming from upstairs. Officer Pasut grabbed the nearest toss pillow on the sofa and threw it at his friend on the opposite sofa.
“Hey! Arai wa?”
Officer Nadech picked up the pillow and put it back on the sofa where it belongs.
“It’s because of you!” exclaimed Officer Pasut. “I knew it would be like this!”
“Calm down will you?” asked Nadech. “I’m sure it can’t be that bad.”
“AHHH!!! AHHH!!!”
P’Oh came running down the stairs with a look of horror on her face.
“Aie Dech! She’s yours,” she said. “You take care of it. You brought it home.”
Pasut pushed his friend towards the stairs.
“Hey,” said Nadech.
“Hey arai,” said Pasut. “Go see before she brings down the whole house. A girl like that isn’t normal.”
Nadech gulped and grabbed the same toss pillow he had just put back on there. Pasut was right. He shouldn’t have brought her. He should’ve just left her in the hands of the club’s security. How could he not think of that?!

^ For those who anticipate Yadech and/or Sara & Art.

Nadech's character is going to face a battle. Lol.

*Forgot to mention that I added Oh Pakjira and Num Gunchai to the cast. Num Gunchai's character is Art's older brother and Oh as Num's wife, Art's older sister in law. :)
