MPEG1 MUXED

i was trying to transfer mvs onto my ipod, but when i converted it....the mv played but no sound...i checked the site and they said that when u play it on quicktime and u check it, if it says mpeg1 muxed, then it wont play music on ur ipod.....

does ne one kno how i can like not make it mpeg muxed????

Well I dn't quite understand what you mean. Are you using the software that comes with ipod to do it? (Itunes I'm assuming).

Muxed I think just means the audio and the video is combined. If you demux that means to split the audio and video into 2 different files.

So I would think u'll have to keep the video muxed. It seems more like your file only has the video and not the audio.

i know....im having the funnest time of my life with these technical programs...... yea it is in itunes....and i think that it is like a video and audio combined.....how would u demuxed it to keep it good enough for itunes???? and when i convert the vid and play it on my ipod the vid plays but the sound does not......

Well thats a tricky question to ask me.

What I use is virtual dub so its hard to hep me. I have never really used itunes.

Can you tell me your video source? and also what format you're trying to convert it to?

got a link to the ipod requirements?

Ok I think you're doing this all wrong.

What do you mean mpeg2? Mpeg2 is very high quality video. I doubt thats what the Ipod uses. It will run out of space real quick.

What I mean is what format must the video be in order to work in an Ipod? Thats quicktime.. that has nothing to do with ipod..

I wonder if ipod will play mpeg.. you're saying it only plays MOV file? But what requirements are there? The resolution.. does it have any? things like that.

As you can see you have to follow the requirements.


Both the PSP and iPod can both only play H.264/MPEG-4 encoded videos with AAC audio tracks and not much else. Within that, there are limits to the resolution and bit rate of the video files you can use on each device. The iPod's tech specs page states:

H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320x240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats.

MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480x480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats


See thats what you need to do.. Now you gotta find encoders that does this kind.

i used to have this problem.. but all you need is an ipod video converter. it was hard to find a good program for me.. the one that i dl is ok but i barely use it. i bought one instead called - A-one psp ipod video converter.

oh sorry it took me a while to respond.. if u haven't figured it out yet - go to www.download.com and type "video ipod converter" and search for it. a whole bunch of programs should appear.. from freeware to other-wares lolz . anyone of those programs should convert your videos to the correct format

would the programs be like trials and demos only??? or do they have the serial number and name???

download.com is a legal site meaning they won't have things like serials and cracks.

You should test out and try the programs.. then eventually find the crack/serial for the best one you like.

how are you going to find the crack? on crack sites? thats a scary thought...

getting crack off websites is the most dangerous thing you can do and a quick and deadly way to injure your PC.

There are a couple of "almost safe" ways of doing it.

First is to use bittorrent. Generally hard to get softwares like that off BT but you can find some. You MUST SCAN IT before you use it.

Second is to use a p2p software. This is a pretty good way of getting cracks. I normally use emule to get my stuff but there are many other "decent" ones out there. Also you MUST SCAN IT first before you use it.

Third method I use is the one I tried to do first before anything else.. Its called newsgroup. Newsgroup/usenet isn't for most people. So don't even ask me about teaching you.. well unless you're really willing to learn (and if your ISP has it). NG stuff are generally safe from my experience but you should SCAN it also.

In other words.. SCAN EVERYTHING you get.
