Need help with .avi file

My sister is trying to download something to watch from this forum...but for some reason, when she downloads the stuff, only the first out of 3 files work...The person split the files, and when we join them, it still doesn't work...it's an .avi file, and I've downloaded and used those before, successfully, but my computer told me I don't have the proper codecs for it...but I've downloaded all I possibly could for it from the DivX site and stuff, and it still doesn't work, not with Windows Media or VLC or the AVI player...so I'm hoping someone could help me.

It's the HQ Subbed Version (659 MB) on the site that we're having a problem with.

sometimes, when you have too much codecs on your computer, you have conflicts. it's probably your problem. you need to uninstall all your codecs. i only use vlc to watch my avi, mpeg, mp4 files and i only have divx and xvid codec to rip my dvd.
