Need help with harbsubbed English subtitles

Here's the problem. I just burned this Taiwanese series onto a CD. It is hardsubbed but when I watched it on my TV I notice that the English subtitles is being cut off at the bottom because it is at the bottom below the Chinese subtitles. So I was wondering if anyone knows if I can move it on top of the Chinese subtitles or make it fit in the screen. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

it was already hardsubbed when I download it.

Then you cannot change the placement of the subs. The subs are already placed into the video so it's impossible to take them out and move them. Sorry, if they were soft subs, then you would be able to do so. ^^

you can specify the video encoder to not CUT the black part out. Is that what it is doing? It should be in the options. Then u'll see the subtitle and the black borders.

maybe it you're tv screen format try to adjust the size.. to widescreen, full screen wtv you know what I mean.. and see which one works
