Old Génération vs New Génération (Young) Who is better ?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering something Who is better between the Old Génération (Like Ken, Chakrit etc... Who are in lakorns since 2000 something or other) and the Young Version (like James Ma, Nadesh etc...).

Because i found for my part that i prefer à little the Old Génération maybe because i'm used to them (actors and actress) and also i have found that i arrive to cry more with them as actors/actress than with the cast with Young actors/actress.

Maybe i don't have watched the good lakorns ? That i have this point of view.
What do you think of this ?
Who do you prefer ?

Some of the actors/actresses have a harder time nowadays in comparison to the older gen since characters nowadays are a lot more multidimensional (depending on the production of the lakorn). But...I've watched countless old lakorns and hundreds of new ones, the quality of acting and the experience watching them is the same when you look at it, I don't think you can generalize which generation is better because you can't just have a handful of actors to represent the generation when there are so many and there are 4-5 generation of lakorn actors. There will always be the actors who start off awkward and grow to be a good actor (Aum, Bee Sawis), there are ones who were good from the get-go (Num, Sam, Tua) and there are ones who have good roles but struggles at certain points of acting (Pol). Same with the new generation, Nadech, James Ma are good from the start, James Ji was decent in his debut and now he's a flawless actor. And then we have failures of acting like Bomb.

Personally I prefer the older generation, but I think the quality of the actors/actresses is about the same, you get both the talented and the not so talented. If you were to generalize anything I'd say the quality of the whole lakorn. Lakorns back then were overall more interesting and better written. It's rare to find satisfactory lakorns nowadays.

One reason I prefer watching old lakorns meaning before 2008 is because the actresses then had a more natural glow. They didn't pack their faces with makeup like actresses nowadays. The natural looking actors and actresses made the lakorn more realistic. In today's world though makeup is everything. Even the natural glowing actresses then have a load of makeup now. That's why I prefer the older generation when they were in their prime.

Rai roles in the old generation have an evilness of calm. Nowadays, they screech like a banshee lol

Back then most of n'eks are more asian looking. You actually believe they belong to the parents instead of now where it comes like they are adopted lol. And the older generation has a sweetness to them. Also, you don't hear a lot of the trash behind the scenes so you see them and believe them to be n'ek (sweet...innocent and get pushed around :).

I was young watching lakorn back then too...and to me being n'ek was something special. Now, it's like here you are...you get the job so go make it work. I only saw a few of guys that are not pra'ek material but their acting are heaps and bound better them most new generations. To me, there's something alluring about the actresses/actors back in the hay days. Besides, most lakorn now sucks so that doesn't help.

With cable and new channels joining the lakorn arena, anyone can literally be nang'ake and pra'ake now. I see so many actors/actresses becoming leads that shouldn't be. Lol Of course, that's subjective but I don't know. Just look at Ch. 7. If ya'll can have that guy who played as Weir's half brother in that one prince lakorn with Min be pra'ake, that's the end. Haha. Forgot his name. Not only is he unattractive, he can't act for crap. Oh man. No wonder why I'll soon retire from the lakorn world. Nothing has substance anymore, not even Ch. 3 or OneHD or GMM.

Oh, Louis is his name. Omg. Haha.

I've only watched several lakorns ranging from 2010-present though I discovered them around 2013/2014. I am okay with both generations, I like to know more actors and actresses regardless of their generation and type of role. Though I also depend on the plot on whether I'll watch it or skip lol :)

Nowadays I give lakorns maybe 3 episodes and then I move on. I just don't want to waste my time watching people that can't convince me of who they are in their roles...some are so freaking robotic I wonder what kind of dirty secrets they have of people in charge to get such good roles as the leads lol. I was hoping the years would advanced on how they do things but it hasn't. There are lots of newcomers that just doesn't cut it.
I guessed I was trying to quote you but got my message incorporated with yours lol

The old generation is better of course because they have more experience overall. But, I classify these actresses and actors into three categories:

Veterans (roon gao): Nok Sinjai, Chatchai, Jariya, Johnny Anfone, Chakrit, Tik Jesadaporn, Ken Theeradeth, Anne Thongprasom, Cee Siwat, Noon Woranuch, etc.
New Generation (roon pee): Kimberly Voltemas, Noona Neungthida, Vill Wannarot, Mark Prin, Nadech, Bie Sukrit, Boy Pakorn, Om Akkapan, etc.
Rookie (meu mai): Yam Matira, Benz Natthida, Peun Khanin, James Jirayu, James Ma, Tono Phakin, Patricia Good, Diana Flipo, etc.

I grew up with the veteran generation but have fallen in love with the new generation and newbies.

I cannot stand a lot of the newer lakorns NOWADAYS where many scenes are not realistic. For example the crying parts where they use fake tears and we can see the eyes aren't even RED!
