Chapter 7​

[Mint’s room was in the middle between Mark and Mrs. Prin’s room. She woke up early morning to cook. After cooking she went and knocks on Mark’s bed room door but there wasn’t any answer. She decides to go inside just in case something’s wrong because there wasn’t an answer. So, she opened the door slowly and walked inside. She didn’t see him anywhere when she first walked in; as she was going to where he sleeps Mark came in.]
Mark: [Coming behind her closely.] What are you doing?
Mint: [Turned around and was right in front of Mark. Both were looking at each other, and then Mint took a couple steps back.] Uh. I…. I made breakfast so I came to wake you up to go eat. I knocked on the door and there was no answer so I came in just in case something was wrong.
Mark: Why do you look so nervous and scared?
Mint: [Looking up.] Oh, nothing. I’m gonna go wake up Mrs. Prin to go eat. [Walking out of Mark’s room.]
[Mark smiles and look at her as she was walking out. When Mint got out of his room she stopped and looked back, took a deep breath and felt relief. She smiled thinking back to how close they were together a moment ago and walks straight to Mrs. Prin’s room. A bit after, Mint came out holding onto one of Mrs. Prin’s arm into the kitchen where Mark was already sitting on one side of the corner table and pulled the chair out a little on the shorter side of the table so that Mrs. Prin could sit. She then went to sit a crossed from Mark and opened the pot of porridge in the middle of the table. She took a big spoon and scoops some into each of their bowls.]
Mrs. Prin: Thank you.
Mint: You’re welcome Mrs. Prin.
Mrs. Prin: You can just call me aunt Prin.
Mint: Okay, aunt Prin.
Mrs. Prin: You’re one lovely girl.
Mint: [Smiling.] Thank you.
Mrs. Prin: I heard you’ll be staying here was your parent’s fine with it?
Mint: They were a bit worry but its fine now. We talked it through.
Mrs. Prin: That’s good then. Mark, how come you are so quiet today?
Mark: [Look at Mint.] Oh, nothing. You guy were talking and I didn’t want to interrupt.
Mrs. Prin: [Went back to talk to Mint.] So, did Mark ask you to take care of me?
Mint: It was Toey who talked to me about it. I actually didn’t know whose mom I was gonna take care of until last night.
Mrs. Prin: Really, how do you know Toey?
Mint: Oh, We’re best friends and soon to be a family.
Mrs. Prin: Soon to be a family?
Mint: Yeah, my older sister Min will be marrying Om.
Mrs. Prin: I see.
Mint: Yeah.
Mark: Mom, since it’s the weekend is there anything you’ll like to do?
Mrs. Prin: No. You go ahead and do what you want to do.
Mark: Okay.

Mrs. Peechaya: Min, make sure to give Bua, and Tle the invitation card to your wedding.
Min: They’re coming back from out of town later so I’ll give it to them then.
Mrs. Peechaya: Okay then. I forgot to give Mint invitation cards so she could give it to Toey’s aunt and her son.
Min: Don’t worry, I’ll ask if Toey can drop off 2 cards to Mark and his mom.
Mrs. Peechaya: Who’s Mark?
Min: Mark also went to the same college as Mint. His mom is the one who Mint is taking care of.
Mrs. Peechaya: Oh, really?
Min: Yeah.
Mrs. Peechaya: Mrs. Akkaphan wants me to go over to their place to decide on what kinds of flowers and pictures of you and Om should be use for the wedding. Did you want to go?
Min: I’m busy. Mint asked me to find a gown for her for the wedding so, I’ll be going out to find her one and go see Toey, then I’ll go over to Bua and Tle’s house to give them the invitation cards.
Mrs. Peechaya: Oh. Okay. Are you sure?
Min: I’m sure mom, you go ahead.
Mrs. Peechaya: Okay. When you go see Bua and Tle tell them to come over sometimes.
Min: I will.

[The whole Akkaphan family was in the living room sitting and talking except for Toey. She came walking down the stairs.]
Mrs. Akkaphan: Toey, where are you going?
Toey: [Look at where the family was sitting and smiled.] Oh, I’m gonna go visit Mario’s girl and then go see my soon to be sister in law cause she wants to talk to me and probably go over to see a my cousin and my best friend together.
Mario: My girl?
Om: Soon to be sister in law?
Mr. Akkphan: Cousin and best friend together?
Toey: Uh huh.
Mrs. Akkphan: Who are they?
Toey: [Smiling.] Mario’s girl Taew, soon to be sister in law Min and cousin Mark with best friend Mint. [Laughing.]
Mrs. Akkaphan: Oh…
Mario: I don’t know whose girl you are talking about but it’s not my girl.
Toey: Okay, if you say so! But, I’ll be going now. Bye! [She walked away smiling to herself.]
Mario: I think she’s sick.
Om: Such a weird sister.
Mario: I agree.
Mrs. Akkaphan: Now, don’t say that about your younger sister.
Mario: Can’t help it.

[Taew and Son were watching TV when they heard a door bell.]
Taew: P’son, can you go see who it is?
Son: [Stood up and went to go see who was ringing the door bell.] Hello, Toey.
Toey: [Happy that it was Son who came to open the door and that he remembers her name.] Hello, Son. How are you doing?
Son: I’m doing well. Come in.
Toey: Okay. Is Taew home?
Son: Yeah, she’s inside.
Taew: Toey! You’re here!
Toey: Yes, came to visit you and Son.
Taew: It’s good that you’re here.
Toey: [Taking out 2 cards inside her bag.] Oh, here. [Handing one card to Taew and the other to Son.] It’s the invitation card to Min and Om’s wedding.
Taew: its next weekend! And it’s a formal wedding too.
Toey: Yeah. Aunt Peechaya wants you, Mint and I to be the bride maids, and for Mario, Mark and Son to be the best mans.
Son: Me? To be one of the best man?
Taew: Is there something wrong?
Son: No. I was just saying. I’ve never met Om and Mario before.
Toey: It’s okay. You’ll get to meet them at the wedding.
Taew: It means I have to go look for a gown.
Son: Is there anything to help with?
Toey: No, my mom and aunt Peechaya has already gotten most of the things ready. There’s not much to do anymore.
Son: Okay. But, if you guys do need help you can call me and tell me anytime. [Gave her his work card with his number on there.]
Toey: Okay. Um…. Well, I came here to give you guys the invitation card I still have to go meet Min so I’ll be going now.
Taew: Already?
Toey: Yeah, I’ll see you guys soon.
Taew: Okay.
Son: Bye.

Mrs. Akkaphan: Oh, you both are here. Did Min come too?
Om and Mario: Hello Mr. and Mrs. Peechaya.
Mrs. Peechaya: Min is busy so she didn’t come.
Mrs. Akkaphan: Oh, okay. Well, since you’re here let’s start looking at the pictures.
Mrs. Peechaya: Okay.
[As they all were looking through the pictures Om suddenly came out with a question?]
Om: Mrs. Peechaya, Who’s P’son to Min?
Mrs. Peechaya: Why do you ask?
Om: The other day after the photo shoot Min told me to drop her off at this one house and this guy came out and they hugged each other and I heard Min calling him P’son so I was just curious.
Mrs. Peechaya: Oh, P’son is Taew’s older brother. The two along with Min and Mint grew up with each other since they were young. All of them are very close to each other.
Mario: Don’t tell me that you were jealous of him Om.
Om: Ha. No. I was just wondering who he was so next time I’ll know.
Mario: Sure, don’t admit it.
Om: Stop talking about me when you won’t even admit to your own feeling.
Mario: I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Om: [Mocking Mario.] Sure, don’t admit it.

[Toey arrived at Min’s house.]
Min: Toey. Come in.
Toey: Okay. Are you still busy?
Min: No, I just got back from finding Mint a gown and I won’t be busy till later.
Toey: Oh. Okay.
Min: Have you given Mark and his mom an invitation card to the wedding yet?
Toey: I was gonna go over to Mark and give them the invitation card.
Min: You were?
Toey: Uh huh? Why?
Min: If you are going can you please take Mint’s gown to Mint and tell her that I’ll come visit her when I’m not busy.
Toey: Oh, that’s fine. I’m going there anyways so I can take it to Mint.
Min: Thank you Toey.
Toey: No problem.

[After the day Bua told Min to take over her shift she and Tle went out of town to see their sick grandma and just now coming back.]
Bua: Tle, Min said she’ll be visiting us when we get back home.
Tle: Really?
Bua: Seriously. She called and told me already.
Tle: Haven’t seen her for a while.
Bua: I know. Speaking of her she just sent me a message.
[Bua, I’ll come visit you and Tle around 6-7. Can’t wait to see you guys then! I miss you both! -Min]
Bua: You see. I told you.
Tle: [Smiling.]

Mrs. Peechaya: Although Min isn’t here she wanted to suggest us to use white roses for the wedding.
Mrs. Akkaphan: White roses; associates with marriages and new beginnings. Not bad.
Mrs. Peechaya: And the bouquet for the bribe and bribe maids she wants pink with yellow roses.
Mrs. Akkaphan: That’ll be great. We’ll go with what Min decides.
Mrs. Peechaya: Okay then.
Om: [His cell phone rang.] Excuse me. [Stood up and went to talk in a different rom.] Hello?
Cee: Om, its Cee. Fai is coming back today. Did you want to go pick her up with me?
Om: I’m busy and can’t today. You go ahead.
Cee: Okay then.
Om: K.

[Mint and Mark both took Mark’s mom into her room and gave her, her medicine and let her rest. Both slowly walk down the stairs together and went to sit together in the living room. Both were looking at each other in silence until they heard a door bell.]
Mint: I’ll go see who it is.
[Mint went out and came back in with Toey. She went to go get something to drink for them.]
Toey: Hello, Mark.
Mark: Toey you’re here today.
[Mint came with drinks in a tray and place one in front of them two and her.]
Toey: Where’s aunt?
Mint: She’s resting.
Toey: Oh.
Toey: Mint, how’s it here?
Mint: The house is big and very quiet.
Toey: [Smiling.] There’s Mark for you to talk to. [Looking at both of them.]
Mint: [Don’t know what to say.] Uh…….
Toey: Don’t need to say anything. Mark, this is the invitation card to Om and Min’s wedding for you and aunt. Make sure to come and take aunt with you.
Mark: Okay.
Toey: [Handing the box that has Mint’s gown in it to Mint.] Oh, Min wanted me to give this to you and she wanted me to tell you that when she’s not busy she’ll come visit you.
Mint: Oh, Thank you.
Toey: Uh huh. Anyways, how are you getting along with Mark? [Smiling a little and looking at them.]
Mint: [Not sure what to say.] Well, um…..
Mark: We’re fine. Just a little quiet and getting use each other.
Toey: Oh… Well, get use to each other I want to see a couple. [Saying it as a joking way.]
Mint: [Looking at her strangely.] Huh?
Toey: [A little laugh.] Oh, nothing.
Mint: Toey, stay here for dinner okay?
Toey: Okay. Will you be cooking?
Mint: [Nodded her head.]
Toey: [Clap her hands quietly.] Yay! I haven’t eaten your food for so long.
Mint: [Smiled.] Well, you both stay here and I’ll go cook.
Toey: Do you need help?
Mint: It’s fine. I wouldn’t want you to burn the food like back then.
Toey: [Laugh.] It was an accident.
Mint: Just stay here. I’ll go cook now.

[P’lae (Maid) opened the gate when Min arrived at Bua and Tle’s house. She went inside and saw them two who were about to sit.]
Min: Hey!
[Bua and Tle turned back and saw that Min was there.]
Bua and Tle: Min.
Min: [Went to give them a hug.] I miss you both. I seems like I haven’t seen you guys for years.
Tle: It’s only been 2 weeks.
Min: Oh well. Still feel like yeas.
Bua: Come sit and eat with us.
Tle: [Pulled the chair next to him and Min sat down.] P’lae, bring another set of plate.
P’lae: Okay. [Brought the plates and drink and set it in front of Min.
Min: Thank you P’lae.
[After eating they just sat there talking and having snacks.]
Min: Oh, I almost forgot. [Hand a card to Bua and Tle.]
[Both opened the card and was shock that Min was gonna get marry especially Tle. He went from smiling to frowning but because he doesn’t want to make it seem like he wasn’t happy so he kept his smile on.]
Tle: I’m happy for you. [Excused him and walked away.]
Bua: Me too. Who’s Om? How long have y’all known each other?
Min: Om is Mrs. Peechaya’s son. I met him not too long ago.
Bua: You guys must love each other so much to be getting marry already then.
Min: No.
Bua: How come it seems like you’re not happy at all?
Min: We’re not getting married because of love. I’m just doing this so my parents won’t be upset and disappointed.
Bua: Oh Min…. You’re always like this. You think of others before yourself and now it has gotten to the point where you’re getting marry to someone you don’t love.
Min: [Looking down.] As long as getting married makes my parents happy then I’m willing to do it.
Bua: Well, are you happy?
Min: I’ll make the best out of it.
Bua: So, who’s this Om guy?
Min: He’s my mom’s best friend son.
Bua: How is he like?
Min: He’s annoying with a bad temper, demanding and rude. Don’t care about anything but him.
Bua: He’s that bad?
Min: He the worst.
Bua: I gotta see him to know.
Min: Come to the wedding and you’ll see.
Bua: I will.

[Mint finished cooking and went over to where Toey and Mark was sitting.]
Mint: Come eat.
Toey: Yay!
Mint: I’m gonna go see if aunt Prin is awake.
Mark: I’ll go.
Mint: It’s okay. It’s my job. I’ll go.
Toey: Why don’t you both go and I’ll go sit down in the dining room.
[Both Mark and Mint looked at each other and Mint went ahead and Mark followed. Toey smiling looking at them as they were walking together. Mark and Mint went inside the room and Mrs. Prin was just about to get off the bed when both of them went to hold her arm together and accidently held each other’s hand at the back of Mrs. Prin. They looked at each other and smiled. They walked with Mrs. Prin all the way to the dining room. Mrs. Prin sat down and Toey noticed that they were holding hand and looked shy. She smiled thinking that they probably like each other.]
Toey: Hi aunt.
Mrs. Prin: Hello Toey. You came today.
Toey: Yeah. I came to drop off something to Mint and to give the invitation card to P’son and Min’s wedding. Hope you can come.
Mrs. Prin: Oh. Well, of course I’ll come. Finally someone in the family will be getting married.
Toey: [Smiled.] There might be another couple soon too. [Looking at Mark and Mint.]
Mrs. Prin: [Saw that Toey was looking at Mark and Mint so she was also looking at them. Who are you talking about?
Toey: Oh, nothing. Let’s just eat. Mint makes really good food.
Mrs. Prin: Really?
Toey: [Scooping some food for Mrs. Prin to eat.] Yeah.
Mrs. Prin: Thank you.
[All of them started eating.]
Mrs. Prin: These foods are really good. Mark, what do you think?
Mark: I think it’s also good.
[Mrs. Prin and Mark comment made Mint smiled.]
Mrs. Prin: Who taught you how to cook?
Mint: My mom and older sister taught me before leaving to college in Chiang Mai.
Mrs. Prin: Really?
Mint: Yeah.
Toey: Both Mint and I stay in an apartment together when going to college. I’ve never cook, I always sit by the kitchen and wait for Mint to finish cooking.
Mrs. Prin: Why didn’t you help Mint cook too?
Toey: I did once and ended up burning the food so we went out to eat instead.
Mrs. Prin: You should learn from Mint then.
Toey: I tried but don’t turn out right. So, I’ve never cooked since.
[After eating.]
Toey: I’ll be going back home. It’s getting dark out.
Mrs. Prin: It’s nice to see you. Come again next time and take Om and Mario with you too.
Toey: I will.
Mint: I’ll walk you out Toey.
Toey: Okay.
Mark: Bye Toey.
[Mint walked with Toey out to her car.]
Toey: Are you okay here?
Mint: Yeah, feels a little weird here and there but its fine.
Toey: [Smiling.] So, what’s with you and Mark?
Mint: Huh? What do you mean?
Toey: Don’t need to hide anything. You both like each other huh?
Mint: No, we don’t.
Toey: I can see it.
Mint: He never noticed me since college. If I haven’t gotten this job he’ll probably never knew who I am.
Toey: Aw, Mint. Be around him more and talk to him. I’m sure he has a least a little feeling for you.
Mint: What makes you say that?
Toey: I’ve never seen him look at a girl like he does with you before. The way he looks when Porche is around you and the way he smiles. I’m sure he feels something when you’re close to him.
Mint: Maybe you’re just thinking too much.
Toey: Trust me. He’s my cousin. I know.
Mint: I’ll give it a try to see how it goes.
Toey: You do that.
Mint: [Smiles.]
Toey: I’ll be going now.
Mint: Bye Toey. Come visit again when you have time.
Toey: I will. Bye.
[Toey drove off and Mint went inside.]

Chapter 8​

[Son woke up and didn’t see that Taew was anywhere downstairs when it was already the time she should have woken up to getting ready for to work. So he went up to check in her room if she had already left or not.]
Son: [Knocking on the door and opening it.] Taew, are not you going to work today?
Taew: I’m not feeling well today.
Son: Did you taken any medicine yet?
Taew: No, we ran out of medicine.
Son: I’ll go buy some. Take a rest.
Taew: Okay.
[Son left the room and went out to the store to buy some medicine. He went inside the market and went straight to the where the medicine was, he took some and headed to register when he bump into Toey.]
Son: I’m sorry. Are you okay?
Toey: I’m okay. [Look up and smiled.] Son, it’s you.
Son: Oh, hello Toey.
Toey: What are you doing here?
Son: I’m just buying some medicine for Taew.
Toey: Medicine for Taew? Is she okay?
Son: She’s not feeling well today.
Toey: Is she at home?
Son: Yeah, she’s resting at home.
Toey: Well, if I’m not busy after work I’ll come see her.
Son: Okay then. I’m gonna go pay these and go.
Toey: [Smiling walking out.] Okay. Bye bye.
Son: [Waved his hand bye.]

[Mint walked Mark out to the car when he was gonna leave to work.]
Mark: You didn’t have to walk with me out here.
Mint: It’s okay. I wanted to.
Mark: [Smiled.] I’ll be going now.
Mint: [Smiled back.] Bye.
[Mark left and Mint went inside the house and into Mrs. Prin’s room.]
Mrs. Prin: Did Mark leave already?
Mint: [Sitting down on a chair next to Mrs. Prin’s bed.] Yes. What is it there you’re looking at?
Mrs. Prin: It’s a photo album. Do you want to see it?
[Mint nodded her head and Mrs. Prin handed the album to Mint.]
Mrs. Prin: These were when Mark was younger.
Mint: He’s so cute, always smiling.
Mrs. Prin: Yes.
Mint: Who’s this next to him?
Mrs. Prin: He’s Mark’s dad. He passed away when Mark was 3 years old.
Mint: How did he pass away?
Mrs. Prin: He passed away due to cancer.
Mint: Oh. It must have been hard on you and Mark.
Mrs. Prin: It was. This was the last picture we took as a family before he left.
Mint: I’m sorry about your lost.
Mrs. Prin: It’s okay. No one was meant to live forever; it’s good that he doesn’t have to suffer anymore.
[Mint looking sad and didn’t know what else to say but kept looking at the picture.]

[Son got home and went to see Taew.]
Son: [Took out some medicine and a glass of water.] Here, eat some medicine.
Taew: Thank you.
Son: oh, I met Toey at the market and she might be dropping by later after work.
Taew: Oh, really?
Son: Yeah. Well, I’ll be downstairs if you need anything.
Taew: You’re not going to work?
Son: How can I go to work when my little sister is sick? [Smiled and walked out of her room.]
Toey: [Walking into Mario’s office room.] I’m bored.
Mario: Go do some wok then.
Toey: That’s what I’m bored of.
Mario: What do you have there?
Toey: Oh, this? It’s just snacks I bought when I went to the market.
Mario: Did you get me anything?
Toey: Of course. [Taking out some snacks for him.] Here, these are yours.
Mario: Thank you.
Toey: No one to talk to today.
Mario: Go talk to Taew.
Toey: She’s not here today. She’s sick.
Mario: [Look shock.] What? She’s sick!
Toey: Yes. I met her brother at the market and was told that she’s sick.
Mario: Is she okay?
Toey: Yeah. She just need to rest.
Mario: [Kind of worry.] Oh.

Mr. Peechaya: [Handing Min some documents.] Min, I have some documents for you to take over to the Akkaphan’s company.
Min: Me?
Mr. Peechaya: I have a meeting to go to so I won’t be able to go.
Min: Okay then.
[Min went over to the Akkaphan’s company to hand the documents over. She went inside the office room to see that Om was also in there.]
Min: [Saw Om sitting in the chair and looked at him] Mr. Akkaphan, here’s the documents my dad told me to send over.
Mr. Akkaphan: Thank you for sending it over.
Min: no problem.
Om: Hey, it’s lunch time. Let us all go eat.
Min: [Looked at Om to why he would say that.]
Om: [Look at Min and give her a big smile.]
Mr. Akkaphan: You two go ahead. I’ll be having lunch with other people.
Min: Uh.. I’m not so hungry so I won’t be going.
Om: It’s still lunch time. You at least have to eat something.
Mr. Akkaphan: Om’s right. Both of you go.
Om: You see. Let’s go.
[Om stood up and went over to Min and held onto her hand.]
Min: Ey, what are you doing?
Om: We’re gonna go have lunch together.
Min: Says who?
Om: Me. Let’s go. [Holding her hand and walking out.]
Min: Bye Mr. Akkaphan.
Mr. Akkaphan: Bye.
[Out of Mr. Akkaphan’s office room.]
Min: [Look back if there’s anyone behind them. She stopped.]
Min: Let go of me.
Om: Why should I? You’re gonna be my wife tomorrow. There’s nothing wrong with a husband and wife holding hands.
Min: Don’t think I really want you to hold my hands. Now let go.
Om: No, I won’t.
[Om started walking; she had no choice but to follow because he was holding onto her hand tightly. They went out and into his car.]
Min: Where are you taking me?
Om: Just be quiet and sit still.
[Min stopped and Om just kept driving. After a while Om stopped the car.]
Min: What are we doing here?
Om: Let’s go inside first.
[Min stood there wondering why he took her to the place where they first met. Om held on her hand and took her inside. When they went inside there were no one in their cause Om had rented the whole place.]
Min: Why are we here?
Om: [Walking to the counter and took out a dozen of roses and slowly walk back to Min.] This place was the first time we met; I’m sorry for what happened that day I went a little over board and hope you accept my apology. [Handing the bouquet of red roses to Min.]
Min: [Looking at Om.] Uh…..
Om: [Took Min’ hand and gave her the roses.]
Min: I……
Om: You don’t have to say anything now. I just hope we could have a new start.
[Min couldn’t believe what he’s doing at all and stood quiet the whole time. Om and Min went too sat down and ate. After eating Om took Min home, he got out and opened the door for Min. She got out of the car, standing in front of Om without saying anything. She’s confuse if he’s really serious or not.]
Om: We’ll be getting married tomorrow and I just want us to start out new.
Min: [Looking at Om.] I don’t know why you’re doing this. I don’t know if you really mean what you’ve said but I’m gonna go in. [Walking into her house.]
Om: I’m serious. We’ll be starting our life together and I want us to be on good terms.
[After Min listened to what Om said she just went inside without saying anything back. Om went back inside the car and drove off.]

[Mark came back from work seeing Mint outside of the front yard watering the garden.]
Mint: [Stopped watering the garden.] Mark, you’re back from work.
Mark: Yeah.
Mint: Have you ate, if not I’ll go cook for you.
Mark: It’s okay. I ate already.
Mint: Oh
[Both went inside the house.]
Mint: Aunt is sleeping.
Mark: Oh. Okay.
[Mint cell phone rung and excuse her to go talk.]
Mint: Hello?
Porche: Mint? This is Porche.
Mint: [Smiling.] Oh, Hi Porche!
[Mark wasn’t far from Mint so he heard that it was Porche. He didn’t like the fact that she’s talking to him. He kept on looking at her with a look on his face.]
Porche: The wedding’s tomorrow, do you want me to come pick you up?
Mint: [Looking at Mark and seeing the look on his face.] Um. It’s okay. I think I’ll be going with Aunt Prin and Mark since I have to take care of Aunt anyways.
Porche: Oh, I see. I just wanted to call and ask you that. So yeah. I guess I’ll be seeing you tomorrow then.
Mint: I’ll see you tomorrow. [Hang up the phone and walking back to Mark.]
Mark: That’s Porche?
Mint: Yeah. He wanted to come pick me up but I told him he didn’t have to, I’ll just go from here.
Mark: Do you like him?
Mint: Um….. I don't know.
[Mark was a little disappointed that she didn’t say no right away, he stared at Mint then walked away.]
Mint: [Looking at Mark as he was walking away.] I don’t like Porche, you’re the one I like Mark.

Mario: Toey, where are you going?
Toey: There’s nothing to do here so I’m gonna go see how Taew is feeling.
Mario: You are?
Toey: Yeah.
Mario: I guess I’ll go along with you since I have nothing to do too.
Toey: [Smiled.] Are you really going because you have nothing to do or because you’re worry about Taew huh?
Mario: It’s because I have nothing to do. What else?
Toey: [Whispering to herself.] If you’re worry about her then just say so why lie.
Mario: What are you mumbling about?
Toey: I wasn’t mumbling.
Mario: Let’s just go.
[Got to Taew’s house and Son opened the door.]
Toey: [Smiling.] Hello, Son. Is Taew still resting?
Son: Hello, um. Taew’s not resting anymore. She’s just looking through some magazines. Come in.
Toey: Okay. Oh, this is my older brother Mario.
Son: Hello.
Mario: Hello.
[They all went inside the house.]
Taew: Son, who was it?
Toey: Taew!
Taew: Oh, Toey, it’s you. [Saw Mario.] Oh, Mario, you’re here too?
Mario: I heard you weren’t feeling well.
Taew: Yeah.
Toey: Are you okay now?
Taew: I’m feeling much better after resting.
Toey: That’s good then.
Son: It’ll go get something for you guys to drink.
Toey: I’ll come with you.
Son: [Smiling.] Okay.
[They both left into the kitchen leaving Taew and Mario alone.]
Taew: Sorry, I didn’t call in to inform you that I wasn’t gonna come in for work.
Mario: It’s okay. You were sick.
[Both of them were looking at each other in silence smiling to them self.]
Toey: You’re such a caring brother to Taew.
Son: She’s my only sister so I’m supposed to care for her.
Toey: [Smiled.] Yeah.
Son: Let’s go.
[They went back with the drinks.]
Toey: What are you two smiling about?
Taew: Oh, Nothing.
Son: Toey, I forgot to tell you that Barry and his family came back and he’ll be coming over tomorrow to visit.
Taew: But, tomorrow is Min’s wedding.
Son: Barry knows. His family received an invitation card from aunt and uncle and he’ll be going there.
Taew: Really? That’s great! I can’t wait to see him.
Mario: [Looking a little lost, wondering who this Barry guy is.]
[They all sat together and talk. After an hour or so Mario and Toey left. ]

Chapter 9​

Toey: P’om, are you almost done yet?
Om: Not yet.
Toey: Well, mom and dad are already over at the wedding and for you to go there when you’re done.
Om: Okay then. I’ll come.
Toey: Mario and I will wait for you downstairs and we’ll all go together.
Om: Okay.

Min: Mom, where’s dad?
Mrs. Peechaya: He’s already at the wedding with Mr. and Mrs. Akkaphan:
Min: Oh, why go so early? The wedding doesn’t start till 1p.m.
Mrs. Peechaya: They’re gonna go there to make sure everything is going good.
Min: Oh, okay.
Mrs. Peechaya: Where’s Mint? Will she be there?
Min: She’ll be going there with Mark and his mom.
Mrs. Peechaya: Okay. What about Taew and Son? Are they coming here before they go to the wedding?
Min: No, I told them they don’t have to and that they should just go to the wedding.
Mrs. Peechaya: Okay, you get ready and I’ll tell the hair stylist to come in.
[Min shook her head and her mom went to get the hair stylist. A few minutes later Mrs. Peechaya along with the hair stylist came in and started doing Min’s hair.]

Taew: P’son, how do I look? [Slowly spinning around]
Son: You look great.
Taew: Thank you! Let’s see how you look now. [Walking slowly around him with one finger on her chin and one eyebrow going up.] Hm…….
Son: So?
Taew: [Smiling.] You look handsome as always.
Son: Really?
Taew: Of course.
Son: Are you ready to go then?
Taew: Yes, I am.
[Son and Taew started heading out of the house to go to the wedding.]

[After Mint help Mrs. Prin get ready she went to get ready herself. Mrs. Prin was downstairs waiting for Mark and Mint to be done so they can go. A few minutes later, Mark came down looking handsome and went to where his mom was.]
Mark: Oh, you’re done already? I thought I would have been the first one.
Mrs. Prin: Yes, Mint helped me so I was finished faster.
Mark: So, where’s Mint?
Mrs. Prin: She’s getting really. She should be close to being ready.
[They both waited and waited until they heard a footstep and looked up and it was Mint walking down in her beautiful lavender one sided shoulder dress. Both Mark and Mint looked at each other and sweetly smiled. Mint got to the very last step of the stairs and stood there.]
Mrs. Prin: You look very beautiful Mint.
Mint: Thank you.
[Mint took a couple of steps forward and was closer to Mark. Mrs. Prin was looking at them and smiling.]
Mark: Mom, what are you smiling about?
Mrs. Prin: Oh, nothing.
[Mrs. Prin smiling got Mark and Mint looking at each other strangely.]
Mrs. Prin: If you both are done looking at each other then I think we should start heading out. [Walking away and still smiling to herself.]
[Mark and Mint looked a bit confused for a moment and walked out.]

[Om was ready and went downstairs to where Toey and Mario was waiting.]
Mario: [See Om walking towards them.] Om’s ready.
Toey: Om, you finished?
Om: Yes, just now.
Toey: Let’s go then.
[They all got out and left. After a while they arrived at the wedding.]
Mrs. Akkaphan: You guys are finally here.
Toey: Sorry, mom. Om took a long time.
Om: Where’s Min?
Mrs. Akkaphan: She’s not here yet.
Om: What? I’m here but, she’s not?
Mrs. Akkaphan: She’ll be coming soon.
Toey: Be patient. She’s not gonna run anywhere. [Smiling.]
Om: I don’t care if she runs away or not.
Toey: Oy, how could you not care? She’s gonna be your wife today.
[Om went silent with an annoyed face.]
Toey: P’ Mario, let’s go sit.
Mario: Okay.
[As they were sitting Om had to stand by the entrance and welcome the guest. As he was doing that Min came and he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her.]
Mrs. Akkaphan: Min, you’re finally here.
Min: Sorry, I took longer then I should have.
Mrs. Akkaphan: Oh, it’s okay. You look beautiful. Don’t you think so too Om?
[Om kept staring at her until his mom said that and gave Min a look.]
Min: Thank you Mrs. Akkaphan.
Mrs. Peechaya: You shouldn’t call Mrs. Akkaphan that anymore. You should start calling her mom.
Min: Thank you mom.
Mrs. Akkaphan: You and Om stay here together and greet the guest while your mom and I go inside.
Min: Okay.
[Mrs. Akkaphan and Mrs. Peechaya left leaving Om and Min together.]
Om: You came so late.
Min: It’s not call late if I’m here before the time the wedding starts.
Om: You were still supposed to be here when I was here.
Min: Says who?
[Look at Min and didn’t know what else to say.]

[Taew and Son arrived and headed into the hotel. As they were walking inside Taew saw Porche walking his way to the elevator. Taew and Son also went there and wait with Porche.]
Taew: Hello, Porche.
Porche: Oh, hello Taew. You also just got here?
Taew: Yeah, just now. Oh, this is my older brother Son and P’son, this is Porche. One of the Akkaphan’s childhood friends.
[Porche shook hands with Son.]
Porche: Hello, nice to meet you.
Son: Nice to meet you too.
[They all went inside the elevator and got to the ballroom floor.]
Min: Oh, Taew!
Taew: Min, you look so beautiful.
Min: Thank you, so do you.
Om: Porche, you here.
Porche: Yes, I am.
Son: Min, Congratulations. You’re getting married.
Min: Thank you P’son.
Om: Hello. I’m Om; Min’s husband.
Son: Hello. I’m Son; Min’s cousin.
Min: Taew, P’son and Porche go sit inside.
Taew: Okay, I’ll go in now.
[Min shook her head and they all went inside. Toey and Mario was sitting inside at a table and Mario was looking around until he saw Taew and just look at her.]
Toey: P’mario, what do you keep looking at? [Turning around.] Taew! Porche! And P’son!
Taew: Toey!
Toey: Come sit with us.
Taew: Okay.
Porche: Is Mint here yet?
Toey: No, she isn’t here yet.
Porche: Oh. Is she coming with Mark and his mom?
Toey: Yeah.
Porche: Oh, okay.
Toey: Haha. You miss her?
Porche: [Smiling.] No. I was just wondering.
Toey: Sure…
[They all was sitting and talking. Min and Om still had to welcome the guest. Mint, Mark and Mrs. Prin arrived there.]
Mint: Min!
Min: Mint! I miss you so much!
Mint: I miss you too Min.
Min: How have you been?
Mint: I’m good. What about you?
Min: I’m also good.
[They were all standing there. Mint introduced Mrs. Prin to Min.]
Mrs. Prin: Both of you look alike and are very beautiful.
Min: Thank you Mrs. Prin.
Mrs. Prin: We’re all one family. Just call me Aunt Prin.
Min: Aunt Prin.
Om: Mark, you take Aunt and Mint go sit inside. We’ll be starting soon.
Mark: Okay.
[They went inside and Mrs. Prin went to sit with Om and Min’s Parents while Mint and Mark went to sit with Toey and them.]
Mario: Mark, you’re finally here. Took you pretty long.
Mark: [Smiling.]
Toey: Mint, you know someone here asked for you the moment he got here.
Mint: Really?
Toey: Yes, Porche was asking where you were.
[Mint and Porche looked at each other and smiled. Mark was looking at them and didn’t like the way they were smiling at each other but didn’t say anything and sat down.]
Mrs. Peechaya: [Walking to where Om and Min was.] Min, you and Om come inside. It’s almost the time.
Min: What about the guest?
Mrs. Peechaya: When they come they’ll just come inside.
Min: Okay then.
[Om and Min were just about to go inside until they heard a voice and looked back.]
Bua: Min!
Min: [Looking back.] Bua, Tle!
Tle: We’re not too late are we?
Min: No, just in time. Come in.
[They all finally went inside. Min and Om went straight up to the stage and after a few words from their parents they exchanged rings. After that they were asked to be the couple that leads the dance. So then they both went into the middle of the dance floor and started to dance to the slow song that started to play. A few moments later, Porche got up and stood in front of Mint.]
Porche: [With one hand at the back and one hand out.] Mint, would you like to dance?
Mint: [Look at Mark first then gave him her hand.] Sure.
[They both went and started slow dancing. Mark didn’t do anything but just kept staring at her and she was also looking at him but after a while she stopped looking at him and started to pay more attention on dancing with Porche which makes Mark a little frustrated.]
Toey: [Got up.] Son, let’s go dance. Okay?
Son: Okay.
[Both went up and also started dancing. Leaving Mario, Mark, Taew, Bua and Tle sitting at the table. Out of nowhere a hand came between where Taew and Mario was sitting.]
Barry: Can I have this dance with you?
[Taew and Mario looked to the side.]
Taew: Barry! [Got up and hugged him.]
Barry: Come on, let’s go dance.
Taew: [Smiling at him.] Okay.
[Both went to dance. Mario was a bit mad because Taew is dancing with another guy and smiling. He was staring at them the whole time but she never looked back at him once.]
Mark: Oy, Mario. Who’s that Barry guy?
Mario: [Looks irritated.] I also don’t know.
Mark: I see someone getting jealous here.
Mario: Don’t get me started with you.
Mark: Huh? I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Mario: I saw the way you were looking at Porche and Mint. You looked like you were about to attack him.
Mark: I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Mario: Keep denying. I know you well enough to know when you’re mad and when you like someone.
I can tell you like Mint.
Mark: Wh… What? Same goes to you. I know you well enough to know that you like Taew. You keep on denying the feeling you have for her but when she’s around you want her close to you.
Mario: Let’s stop talking about it. Both the girls we like are dancing with another guy up there.
Mark: Ha, you admit it! You like Taew.
Mario: Uhh… Fine. I may have liked her a little bit but no one knows.
Mark: No one knows? You make it so obvious.
Mario: I do? Well, so do you.
Mark: No, I don’t.
[A new song started playing and that’s when Mark actually went up and asks Mint who was still on the dance floor for a dance.]
Mark: Is it okay if I cut in?
Porche: Sure.
[Mark and Mint started dancing. They were quiet the whole time but looking at each other as if they were in their own world. Taew and Barry along with Son and Toey were still dancing. Min and Om stopped. Om saw that Cee and Fai were they and went to talk to them as Min stayed back and talk with Bua and Tle.]
Toey: You’re not bad at dancing.
Son: [Smiled] you’re not either.
Toey: I’ve been learning.
Son: So have I.
Toey: Really?
Son: My parents used to make Taew and I dance together when we have family gathering.
Toey: Really? No wonder you’re good.
Son: [Smiling.] Yeah.
[They continued to dance how they were.]
Taew: How have you been?
Barry: I’ve been good. You?
Taew: I’ve also been good. Where’s Yaya? How come she didn’t come?
Barry: She’s still aboard. She’ll be coming back soon.
Taew: Oh. How’s she doing? I miss her.
Barry: She misses you too. And, she’s doing great. Um… We’re also engaged.
Taew: [Surprised yet happy.]Really! Since when?
Barry: About 2 weeks ago.
Taew: [Smiling] I’m so happy for you two!
Barry: Yeah. She was shocked.
Taew: I bet she was.
Barry: So, how about you? Yaya told me that you’ve been liking a guy since high school year.
Taew: [Turning to look at Mario.] Uh….. hm…
Barry: Is that him?
Taew: [Shook her head.] Yeah, that’s him.
Barry: Does he know you like him?
Taew: He does. But, it seems like he doesn’t like me at all.
Barry: What makes you think that?
Taew: Just cause. He knows I’ve been liking him for a long time and if he were to feel to same way he would have done something already.
Barry: That doesn’t necessarily mean that he doesn’t like you.
Taew: I don’t know. We’ll see if it works out or not.
[Stopped talking and kept dancing.]
Mrs. Akkaphan: [Walking to Min.] Min, where’s Om?
Min: Oh, he went to talk to Cee.
Mrs. Akkaphan: Could you go and find him and tell him to come see us at the table?
Min: Okay.
[Min looked around everywhere in the ballroom and didn’t see him so she went out and look for him in the halls. She walked and heard people talking so she slowly went and saw Om, Cee and Fai talking. She didn’t interrupt but stood there listening.]
Om: When did you get back?
Fai: Just now. That’s why Cee and I are late. But, congratulations on your wedding day.
Om: Thank you.
Fai: Who is she? I’ve never seen her before and you’ve never had a girlfriend before.
Om: She’s just a girl that I’m forced to marry too.
Fai: Forced?
Om: Yeah, forced to marry.
Fai: But, I know you. You won’t do something you don’t want even if you’re forced. What are you up too?
Cee: He’s weird. And, Unpredictable.
Om: I’m not gonna be doing anything. I’m just gonna make her fall in love with me.
Fai: Why?
Cee: There was a little incident when they first met and I think he’s gonna get her back. Or maybe not.
Fai: You’re willing to marry someone you don’t love just to teach them a lesson?
Om: Why not? I’ll divorce her after right after my parents sees that we love each other when I really don’t love her.
Fai: You’re confusing me now. So, you’re doing this because?????
Om: I had a deal with my parents, to be with her and I’ll be able to get anything I want even if it’s the company.
Fai: You’re using her?
Om: Obviously. I don’t love her. If I can get all the things I want just having to be with her then I’ll do it.
Fai: What if you fall in love with her?
Om: It’ll never happen because she’s just like every other girl who wants to marry into a rich family. I’ll never like a girl like that.
Fai: I hope you really don’t do that. I don’t want anyone to get hurt.
Om: No one will. I’ll divorce her and give her money. Everyone will be happy.
Fai: [Sighing.] I hope you reconsider what you’re thinking about doing, using an innocent girl like that you’ll end up hurting her and even yourself.
Om: Innocent? I don’t think so.
[They stopped talking. Min heard everything and was upset yet mad. She quickly went away so that they wouldn’t see her but Om heard something and went to look and saw that Min was about to go inside the wedding. He thought to himself and wonders why she was out of the wedding and if she had heard anything.]
