Epilogue

5 years later….

“Gabriel, be careful, sweetie! Samantha warned her 5-year-old son. The little boy looked back at his mother and smiled. Samantha smiled back at him. Seeing her son’s smile makes her happy and at the same time, it breaks her heart. Her son’s smile was just like his father’s. Every time she would stare at Gabriel’s face, Michael would always come across her mind. Michael. Her Michael.

It has been 5 years since Michael left her. Samantha tried to look for him, she even hired people to search for him but there was no Michael to be found. The reason why he left was unknown to her. The absence of Michael made her realize that she was so deeply in love with him. That Michael was the only reason why she existed in this human world. Every night, Samantha would look up at the night sky, asking for a miracle to happen, asking to see Michael once again. After a few months when Michael left, Samantha later on found out that she was carrying a child, a product of their love. Gabriel, Samantha’s little angel. He was her savior. Without him, Samantha didn’t know how to survive the pain of loosing Michael. Gabriel was the only joy of her life now. The little boy gives her strength to continue on living. As he grows up, the more he resembles Michael. Samantha was relieved when she found out that her son is not a vampire, like her. He would surely have a good life ahead of him.

What happened to Michael was unknown to Samantha. Michael, who was an angel made an agreement with The Great Man in heaven. Michael gave up his status of being an angel, gave up his everlasting life in heaven so he can spend time with Samantha. After that, Michael would die and disappear. Since Michael really loved Samantha, he decided to take the risk, even if it will cost him his life. What Michael didn’t know was the dying part was just a test. A test of how strong is their love for each other. The Great Man would bring Michael to Samantha’s life again. Someday.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sun was already setting but little Gabriel insisted to walk further. Strolling with his mother on their lavish backyard was his favorite hobby. While walking, Gabriel saw a bush of red roses and he came near it.

“Mommy… Look at these roses, aren’t they beautiful? Little Gabriel pointed the red roses. Samantha approached him and stood beside him. She wrapped her arms on his shoulders and smiled as she stared at the red roses. Seeing the red roses brings back more memories of Michael. The more she remembers Michael, the more her heart shatters. Gabriel started to run once again as he saw a deer.

“Don’t go too far, sweetie! Samantha warned him once again. Samantha was alone now. She turned her direction to the other side and saw a lake. The lake was full of memories that Samantha treasured. It was the lake where they first made love. Samantha turned her direction back to the roses and stared. The wind was blowing gently now, the fragrance of the rose wafted around the area. Samantha closed her eyes as she inhaled the scent of the rose. It was exactly like Michael’s smell. Everything around her just reminds her of him. It was very painful for her. Why did Michael left? Was her love not enough for him? Samantha is willing to give up everything just for him. For him to stay on her arms forever. Tears started to roll down her cheeks. She couldn’t take it anymore. The pain was inevitable and she needed to cry. She needed to release the pain that was forming inside of her, the pain that even the most expensive medicine in the world could not make it go away. It was the pain of loosing someone you love so deeply.

As Samantha’s tears rolled down her cheeks, she heard footsteps coming towards her. Thinking it was one of her bodyguards, she immediately wiped her tears. When the footsteps stopped, Samantha turned around to see who it was. Her eyes were locked at the person who was standing before her. She covered her mouth with her hand as tears continued to roll down her cheeks. But this time, it was tears of joy.
