I just came back from Thammasat in December from the UC EAP program; I go to Davis. Thammasat's Thai Studies program professors speak pretty good English and you'll definitely get a chance to have Thai students there who speak English help you practice your Thai. In my opinion it was a great program. I don't know about the BE/Business & Economics? program there because I didn't take classes from there but I hear that it was okay. On the whole, the academic experience there was rather relaxed compared to UC Davis but how much you learn is really up to you and if you're focused enough. You'll be going to Thammasat in the Tha Prachan campus, which is along the Chao Praya river, outside of the main city and all the malls. Thammasat, although not the #1 school in Thailand, is still very well respected, Thai people will be impressed if you say you go there. Plus, they are not as strict about the uniforms, depending on what faculty you take classes from, like Chula. All in all, it was lots of fun! Now I want to go to Korea, then back to Thailand again!

Cool that u got a chance to go to thailand..Only one thing i can say go for it...Not only that Thamasat University is one of the top university in thailand and everybody in thailand will be stunned when u tell them u study there...The surronding is totally good not so amazing but good in the way that u will touch the heart of thai culture..I mean if u probably go to Tha Pra Jun campus..which is along side the Choa Pra Ya river. One side u got the river and then the old traditional typical kind of thai resteraut then just not so far is the loyal palais, Wat Pra Keaw, Wat Po, Thai national museum...etc..U r just the heart of the culture...Only one suggestion i can make for u is..if u decide to go for an exchange program ..u gotta be opened minded..and accept the different betwen the country like thailand and US...For the language i am not so worried about that..if u r friendly enough, u can make friend quite easily..College students most r high educated so more or less they can communicate with u ....well..Be friendly and i bet that u will find friend easily.....Life in campus at Thammasat is one of greastest memory for me.....Hope that u will have the same.....Good luck :D

i'm not sure if u've read this. i found it on Thammasat University's official website.

Thammasat University, the second oldest university in Thailand, is one of the most prestigious universities in the country with its fine reputation in the field of social science.

Established by the Thammasat University Act in 1933, the university was inaugurated on June 27, 1934 as an open university with the objective of propagating the study of Law and Politics to people at large. The university was then named "Thammasat Lae Karn Muang"--literally, "The University of Moral Science and Politics." By 1949, there were four major fields of study; namely, Law, Commerce and Accountancy, Political Science & Diplomacy, and Economics. In 1952, the name was changed to THAMMASAT UNIVERSITY. Two years later, the fields of Social Work and Journalism were added. In 1962, the Faculty of Liberal Arts was founded.

The year 1986 brought several changes to the University. The new campus site at Rangsit, 50 kilometers from the main campus, was opened to new students. Currently all first year classes are held there. Also newly established and situated on the new campus site are the Faculty of Science and Technology, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Medicine, Sirindhon International Institute of Technology, the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences.

Presently, Thammasat University has fifteen faculties and one institute: Law, Commerce and Accountancy, Political Science, Economics, Journalism and Mass Communication, Liberal Arts, Science and Technology, Social Administra-tion, Sociology and Anthropology, Engineering, Medicine, Allied Health Sciences, Nursing, Dentistry and Sirintdhorn International Institute of Technology.

Apart from the regular undergraduate programs, Thammasat University offers international programs taught in English in the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Sirindhon International Institute of Technology, the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Engineering. It brings in diversified students from various schools, both local and abroad. This marks a stepping stone for internationalization in education in the country.

Thammasat University also offers graduate programs leading to master's degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Law, History, Library Science, Mass Communication, Political Science, Social Administration, Anthropology, Thai Linguistics, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Applied Statistics, Community Development, English Language and Literature, English for Careers, Teaching English as A Foreign Language and Engineering. Some programs are conducted in English.

In 1991, Thammasat University launched a doctoral program in Business Administration, a joint-venture program between Thammasat University, Chulalongkorn University and the National Institute of Development Administration, financed by CIDA and The Associa-tion of Deans of East Asian Graduate Schools of Management.

Thammasat University has four institutes whose responsibilities are predominantly research work. These are the Thai Khadi Research Institute, the Human Resources Institute, the Information Processing Institute for Education and Development, and the East Asian Studies Institute.

Having started out as a law school, Thammasat University has gradually expanded academically to offer courses in Social Sciences, Humanities and Sciences with the aim of providing higher education in the fields that are pertinent to social needs and to promote research and Thai culture.

Let me get this straight. Are you wanting to go study aboard as in like getting your undergrad degree there in Thailand? If yes, then I do not recommend it. Why would you go all the way there to get a 4 year degree when you can get one in the USA? It's hard enough to find a job with an undergrad from the USA, it will be really hard to get a job with degree outside of the USA if you are planning to come back to work here in the USA. However, I do recommend you go study abroad during the summer to get some credits or maybe for a semester or two, but not get a 4 year degree there. Get what I'm saying?

About Thammasat or Chuluangkorn University, yes they speak Thai. If you want to go to an international school then you need to go to ABAC Assumption University because they speak English there. It is actually not hard to get in ABAC at all. Also, you might meet some celebrities too.
