[Tutorial] Transparent BG

I've never done tutorials before but here is a simple one I made on doing transparent backgrounds.. I'm still new at the whole transparent thing.. but hopes my tutorial works on you sarnies ^_^

Here is how to open the transparent background.

BUT IGNORE ADVANCED!!! I MEANT TO PUT BACKGROUND CONTENT!!!

hey..
i just got photoshop too and i'm confused about how we are supposed to put pitures on the transparent BG...
everytime i open a picture, it open a new window and it won't let me put the pictures on the bg...
can you help me?

ok...so i went back and merge...i got it! Thanks Kat & Julie.....

okay so I want to try one and see if I can do one just like Julie did for Kat...how do I get that shadowy look behind the pictures? does that even makes sense?

you just used the drop shadow from the blending options.. ^_^
