yup.You don't have to have an English name either when you name your kid... Didn't the most of us grow up with a Hmong name anyway? The only problem I had with a Hmong name is that sometimes teachers in school couldn't pronounce my name correctly... but we can always correct them too khekhekhe....
good luck finding a name for your baby... But I think I have to be greedy and keep my name ideas until I have little ones in the futurehehehe..

Wow... those are some pretty good names and quite unique girl names...
I'm not very good with hmong names but my cousin is very fluent in the hmong language and love the hmong language, so her two kids have quite unique and nice names...
Her oldest boy's name is: August Yim Muaj Her - meaning "even more"
Her daughter's name is: Serenity Thov Tua Her - meaning "Wish(Hope,want) to have"
I'm not very good with hmong names but my cousin is very fluent in the hmong language and love the hmong language, so her two kids have quite unique and nice names...

Sorry I mean no offense or anything but I just thought it was funny.. when I read the name Serenity Thov Tua Her... her name Thov Tua kind of sounds like "Wish to kill" and her last name happens to be Her.. so in English translation her hmong name means Wish to Kill Her.. sorry I don't mean to offend.. I was just amused.

my babies hmong name is going to be totally different from their english name.it's okay. it's not as bad as kou... people i used to work with use to go "kou kou cha-choo" lol. talking about being annoying huh? but you learn to like it and live with it. now non-hmong people thinks it sounds "cute" when they hear that name.. LOLMy name's Bai. I have no idea what that means though. O_O

My boyfriend's uncle named his baby girl, Khuv Xim, meaning, regret.
I think the sound of the word, khuv xim, sounds nice and pretty, but not the meaning...
I always have this thing that your name effect your life/future, etc etc
such as the name khuv xim... I feel like in life she's just going to spend regretting many things...
and then I have a niece who names her baby, ZhongHlub (she spell it half in hmong and half in english like the way I did it too), which I think it means, loveable.
and I like the name, Nkauj Hmoob and Nraug Hmoob...
