WALLPAPER DESKTOP PROBLEM

Okay, I don't know what happened, but my sister was using my laptop and she did something and my wallpaper disappeared and only shows the color of the background. I went back and tried to put the wallpaper back on, but it won't show and I tried many different other wallpapers, but still nothing. So I decided to try the generic Microsoft background and still nothing shows up, but the color background.

I've checked all of my computer settings and everything works just fine save for the wallpaper won't show up!!!!! I'm at wits end here and SO I HOPE that someone will be able to help me with this problem.

it looks like your pc started up in some kind of recovery mode..

Have you tried restarting your machine?

I haven't done RESTART, but I've done SHUT DOWN and LOG OFF. Does it matter?

I have a new view on this problem: The wallpapers that I make and save onto my computer won't show up on my desktop and the background colors shows up, but when I go online and make the wallpaper as my background, it changes as the wallpaper, but if I save it, then it won't change.

Any idea on what's going on?
