What sort of work do you do??

I was just wondering cause I see a lot of members posting from work. When I used to work at a call center, I wasn't even allowed to open up MS Paint, let alone get on the net. So, I'm just curious, where do you guys work or what sort of work do you do??

For me.. I'm a full time Mommy... and a freelance writer from home, sort of. LOL...

and to answer the above question, yes some companies monitor ur every move online

including mine, but who gives... lmao

the other company i worked for was more rigorous tho... they blocked everything and their mommas. they blocked sw too. it was hell, hahah, but i never had down time. but i've checked it during lunch a couple of times and yeah it was blocked.

they also taped our phones, checked our internal emails, logged our internet transactions, i couldn't check outside emails, hotmail and stuff were blocked. lol.

wow thats krazy noungning...hmmm i dont know if they are monitoring or not..but everyones got internet access and nothing is blocked..just that the stupid cookies requests kept on popping up?!..so annoying..i cleaned it out every now and then..but dont know if that will help any..and clean out the history and so forth...*sighs oh well..sw is that addicting!

clearing ur cookies and history is good... but if it's a company that records and log your activity even deleting and wiping out everything, they can still have ur info... but those are more like companies that's afraid very important stuff will leak out or whatever the case is.

yep i kinda figured that too..when i was watching csi lol..even when you delete everything..they still can recover it..wth..so it is still in the hard drive somewhere..just cause us normal folks cant locate it doesnt mean the pro cant...arghh..scary!

If I was working in a big company with alot of people, such as say a uni, any sort of business, etc; I would be one of the guy doing the monitoring, snooping, spying.. whatever you wanna call it

Of course people like us are not all bad.. we just wanna make sure the people at work are actually working.

But at my work, everyone is a nerd so its pointless and we all get to do anything online provided we can show that we get our projects and tasks done. And of course sometimes give extra effort if the need arise.

<_< I don't work right now im doing part time studies or outside studies (taking a break from my courses) but next semester I am registered and enrolled as full time student so basically I'm a bum this semester -.-" LOL but eh I take care of the house and stuffs Lol oh I'm a taxi driver for my family chauffeuring them around and etc... I also manage the families finances mines, my uncles family and my parents of course ^__-" so that stuff kind of keeps me busy ...

i work for the department of defense,,, i'm a civilian supervisor/manager in an aircraft maintenance unit!!! i used to have access but that privilege has been squashed do to the threat they see to the government servers from outside sources!!!

i can go and do whatever i want too.
our IT department were not too strict on what we do.
we can go online, no site were block either.

Full time student in IT field. In the engineering cycle, we're allowed to use the computer for example when we have some C classes... Of course, most students don't listen to the teacher. In a 3-hour class, when there is a break : almost 25% of students are gone . What about me ? I don't go out, I stay in class and I go through SW and other forums + MSN (webmessenger).

i used to work as a receptionist at a hotel. one time the computer caught a virus and my manager blamed me because i was on myspace. whatever. since i dont have the guts, i wrote him a long letter of how much of an ass he was, taped it on the computer screen and took off. told him to send me my last paycheck. i still remembered what i wrote at the end "you know what john, you fucking have mood swings you fat ass." ARG i still hate him till this day.

now i work at an office with my manager. too busy to go online.

I have co-workers that do it all the time, but the head honchos are always watching...kinda a bad move to make if you wanna keep your job....besides, I got my trusty internet on my phone...now that's mobile, woohoooooo!
