[CH.3] Rak Nakara (Act Art) : Mark / Taew / Mew

Never watched the old version, so I'm now finally understanding why MM's death would free Chiang Ngern. It's because the Westerners would use ML as a way to prove Chiang Ngern was two-faced, and go after Chiang Ngern despite Siam's protection. Tsk tsk. Jao Luang Sanintha and NM appear even more defeated after all is said and done. AND since Mueang Man was colonized by the West, ML is considered a British prisoner/citizen, so Chiang Prakam would be punished for "kidnapping" and harboring her in secret. Seriously, Westerners are scary. Now that I understand the complexity of this plot, I enjoyed the entire lakorn even more.

That sequence of scenes between NM and MM were so intense. I love the switch that flips in MM when she realized the dead end her brother was heading towards. She had to steel herself and act cruel, while her mind played out the cause and effect that would help everyone survive, except for herself.

You know, maybe all this time the death scene has always been interpreted wrong? Maybe as she died, she realize that he did love her. She choose to protect and love him in the end through action (by saving his life). Maybe as she laid dying, she realized that everything he did through action was his dedication to her as she is doing for him for the final time.

Waaaaaah my heart hurts!! I'd have to say my favorite scenes are NM & MM scenes, especially the final scene. The background music gives that scene a deep depressive feeling. I had chills to the bones! Ugh!

And MM walking towards the blossoms then stops to look back...those DAMN onions got me again! I cried the most, literally sobbing, ugly crying when MM was bidding her baby goodbye.

Thank you for explaining this, I was only able to understand some of the parts that were spoken in English. Makes so much sense now. It's good to know that Manmeung did not die in vain. She died saving so many people. She saved her husband, her brother, her sister and her country. Let's face it, if Chiangnern were to become independent, they were going to eventually end up like Meungman, especially with the way Normeung thinks.

Wow! Last night episode was such an emotional roller coaster :crybaby2::crybaby2: I went to bed super depressed  and now at work depressed. I have not fully recover yet so I will definitely be back to give my thoughts on the ending after I have fully composed myself . Lets just say how the ending was excuted has fractured my fragile heart and I can not give my thoughts without tearing up :crybaby2:

I'm with you! Time to binge and rewatch her old lakorns until her new ones come out.
Now that the lakorn ended I don't know what to do. Does anyone know when Taew's 2 lakorns with JJ will air? :( I miss her like crazy!
I am with you ladies on this @4416 @PrincessKarina I am going to miss Taew on screen. I have only seen 3 lakorn of her as I am only just become a fan of her this year. (Officially in love with her, talent like that is so rare she has definitely got that top star quality and has been very fortunate to be given great roles to show cast her talent).

After seeing her role in Nakee and now Raknakara I can confidently say this girl is definitely by far one of the top actress in the thai entertainment industry as far as talent goes. Her portrayal of each roles given is so convincing that she makes us believe that she is that character and u no longer see her as Taew (if that makes sense) I also have to praise her on the fact that she can actually make her character differ so much from each roles given. I really thought she wasn't going to be able to break free from her role as Nakee and I thought I was going to see Mae Nakee in her as MM, but she proved me wrong, I honestly saw her as MM and no longer saw her as Nakee while watching her role as MM. Whether you are fan of Taew or not there is no denying her talent. yes yes I am officially in love with Taew.

Ok will be back later to give my 2 cents on Raknakara. :worship2:

I thought I was not going to cry, but the scene when JN arrived at MM's death got me. Then towards the end when he placed the flower from their first meeting on her grave got me too. I know there were better scenes during this episode, but I really like the flower on the grave scene. Not only was it touching, but it was a very simple scene. Now every time I sing the song, I might cry.

Hope it's this one ...

Been lurking here in silence .. reading comments. I watched the old version as well as this version and find both good in their ways. However, this one has touched me more because MM's love for her husband, nation, and family . I have not cry this much since Koo Gum - their love reminds me of Kobori and Ang in a way. Going to have to add Jao Noi to the list of "ONE LOVE ONE LIFE" p'ek list. He loves MM so so much --- He refused to love other women except the woman he fell in love with and the mother of his child. His indirect actions and subtle love confessions get me every time. Just wish MM would have accept these gestures as a sign of love and stay with him forever; despite the politic behind everything. I'm sure they'll find reason to cover the ML and Western trader connection/tie.

Really wish MM gives JN reaffirmation before that last moment. That last scene of him asking her, "If I don't have you, how am I going to live? What about my heart, MM?" was so so sad T____T

Anyway, want to give credit to P'Off and the casts for doing such a great job at this version. I didn't like the costumes/wardrobes but end up liking it more and more because of its simplicity. The dialect was hard to understand for a non-native speaker and non reader like me but the cast made it sounds really smooth, gentle, and beautiful. Love the way MM calls JN "Jao Pee" -- simply romantic <3

On a last note, really loving Mark more and more. He has been playing most of his roles so so well. Look forward to his new lakorn w/his other ne'ks.

MM broke my heart multiple times --
Sweeping her hair over her brother's foot. All craziness aside, family is family. NM was the person she was closest to, basically like a twin, they were two sides to a coin, and he was devastated to realize what he had done;
MM finding the photograph. Crying as she wrote her letter. Paying her respects to Grandma.
:( singing the world's saddest lullaby to her son...
Asking ML to be Phu Kaew's mom. Asking for a small monument placed in the pink forest.
Dropping the sword to the forest floor and letting her brother kill her.

Saying "I love you with my life, loved you since the day we met. I love you..." to JN. They made that entire death scene even MORE sad by showing MM's soul basically leaving JN, and turning back once to hear JN scream her name. *tears* I am speechless with how tragic this final episode was. From the moment MM starting saying her goodbyes, my heart ached until the end of the episode. I am so glad I watched this lakorn that made me sad as heck. Well played, Act Art, well played...

Loved the moment when PK finally learned the truth about his mom, and his father's pain of having to burn all evidence of MM's existence except their single photo. Those final flashbacks between MM and JN were oh so heart-wrenching.
"Jao MM, my mother, is the most beautiful woman in my heart."

YES! When JN placed the blossoms on her grave, it was such a beautiful transition into sharing her story with their son.

Thank you @cecilia !

Though I wish he would have said "I love you" back to Menmeung, I am satisfied with the ending. The scene when he asked her how he could live without her and she said he has to live for their son and the country. And he asked her "what about my heart?" Menmeung smiled at him with this question before she confessed to him that she loved him. I think it proved that finally she understood that he has loved her all along. The entire episode left me a great impact. People have been crying on twitter since the episode started airing too until morning.
