I agree with my friends in the ch7 ratings thread one. One should make a thread about ch3 ratings situation. How can you explain that that channel that gets all of the buzz, the hype and the awards (most of them undeserved) and the deals can still only attract mostly urban and BKK areas viewers thus trails behind ch7 ratingwise ? I have my lil opinion on the subject but would like to hear my fellow members views 1st.

Lol ch3 got their own thread!!!!

I think with ch3, they make lakorns that country people couldn't relate too. It's too city. Ch7 has lots of flaws but it is entertaining because its sooo namnao or just :facepalm::facepalm:. People who worked all day doing labor work sometime wants to go home and watch something that they can yell at the TV about. Kinda hard to explain and I'm not that great with it. I remember eating at a street restaurant and the lady had on ch7, I asked her why she doesn't watch ch3 and she said it's not spicy as ch7. She used the word: ata-rot.

Lol, yep, so true. I remember recommending a ch3 lakorn to my parents and they said they can’t relate and it’s nonsense to them. They rather watch low budget ch7 lakorns. Ch7 something is more entertaining ch than ch3 lakorns even with all over their pace storyline.

Lol that's an excuse 15 to 20 years ago. I dont know why people continue to use it to excuse ch3's poor ratings lol. They proven it themselves many times that ch3 reach all the region ch7 reaches with several lakorns such as Dok Som See Tong, Reang Ngao, Nakee and now BPS. There was an evening lakorn that reached high 20's about 10 years ago. I think hardcore fans of ch3s are just in denial cus now they're using the digital world excuse. Plus dont you think with how competitive between ch3 and ch7, ch3 wouldn't pay for technology upgrades to "reach" all those places fans claimed they couldn't?

Yeah thats what i wad thinking cause if that were true there would be no way BPS and nakee would have such high ratings

I have read all of my friends comments here and I agree with everything you have said. Ch3 on the outside looks good, expensive and appealing but maybe because they focus too much on the gloss a lot of Thai viewers can't relate to them ? I agree with everything @S.J.M stated up here. Lately even I can't relate to the ch3 faces I am seeing. They look expensive. They easily get the hype and the buzz but I think ch3 lacks that challenging vibe I get from a Gmm25 lakorn : look at the case of yadesh or jj/Taew lakorns reception...

Ch3s are fantasy for the city people..its what the middle class hope their life could be, a cinderella story with poor girl meeting rich guy. Country people ain't got time for day dreaming lol. Nakee did so well cus it spoke to Thais of all regions. Who in Thailand doesn't believe or worship Nak? No matter how advance people think Thailand is, it's mainly in the city (Bangkok), the provinces are still very much deeply rooted in their culture and traditions. BPS did the same thing.

Both channels has their own target group and it doesn't seem like they want to change. I was hoping gmm25 be the balance between the two but most their lakorns are too extreme or too teeny bopperish for me. There are few that I like though but not enough for me to like give up 3 and 7 for. I think they'll do well for younger gen than mine.

CH7 audiences comprise of rural or country side which is the majority of the total population, so it’s not surprising at all that the ratings for CH7 are almost always higher than CH3, CH8, One HD, etc.

CH7 lakorns can have the unknown casts and their ratings are still higher than the popular ones at CH3, One HD, CH8, etc.

I like to compare the ratings for lakorns within the same channel and see how they fare among themselves. I think it’s more realistic.

Of course, CH3 lakorns will beat CH7 once in a while, but those are the exception. Same case can apply to One HD and CH3.

Another thing I notice and have a problem with ch3 is that they really dont treat their people fairly. People say ch7 dont but at least ch7 doesnt over make their lakorns and sit on it (unless they really dont like the pranang). Ch3 makes so many lakorns that UNLESS the pranangs are A lister, you really dont know when it will air. Will it air this year, next year or in 5 years :rolleyes:. Maybe this is why most producers keep casting the same people or A listers, they know it'll get aired immediately. I mean can you really blame them? They all want their hard working lakorns to get air and if the channel sits on non A listers then why not just cast A listers?

And you forgot Matt my boo being lowkeye shaded by Verrasalon. They're going to such a length and dress her like a hobo in her next project with BROADCAST THAI !

Honestly I thought powerful koojin latest lakorn would be a super hit. It looked great on the teaser. Then it ended up all gloss... sigh powerful koojin not impactful enough to save lakorn ratings:crybaby2:

The lakorn with Nadech? Lol I haven't been in there a while cus I didnt want to get spoiled but last time I was in there I thought you guys were happy with her wardrobe :confused12:

To me I feel channel 3 at least want to make their stars famous while channel 7 doesn't. Channel 3 has this tendency to push someone that they think might make it big for the moment whether they fail later is another story. Channel 7 is lukewarm to all their people.

Like pooklook, she was getting lakorns left and right and has some decent roles then she slowly disappeared. Min, seemed to be a promising one too now she's nowhere to be found. Then they bring in new people only half heartedly care. They are so nonchalant about the whole process. Channel 3 might have their biases but they at least put in some effort into making them relevant...channel 7 just sits on everyone.
