I hate to say this but I'm really disappointed in this lakorn. I loved all of Anne's previous work and Aew Ampaiporn is my favourite director but this lakorn became way too focused on the aesthetic aspect and less on plot and development. This lakorn is beautiful but of little substance. The pictures and behind the scenes were better and more interesting than the actual lakorn sadly.
Though not a remake of Manee Yard Fah, it's pretty much is Manee Yard Fah minus the comedy and romantic scenes. The island scenes were very dull and nothing memorable happened. If your pra'nang is stuck on an island, make good use of it and make it romantic or cute, not tedious. Alice is a boring character, she's supposed to be this headstrong and feminist character but she's so serious all the time and ridiculously stubborn in a way that isn't endearing. Dawin is pretty boring as well, we get it, you love your work, you love n'ek and you're heroic, but what else? You keep expecting something big for the leads but really nothing happens. Their marriage scenes were also not memorable and boring minus the food shopping scene which was ridiculously short. Alan and Paen were boring and had no chemistry and Jessie and her love interest were seriously underdeveloped.
None of the flaws are Nadech and Yaya's fault, they did their best with such a dull script. There just weren't good enough scenes, any scene that had the potential of being good was cut short, like the scene at the waterfall, the scene of them sleeping overnight hugging in the cabin, everything just felt thrown in and rushed. Even the ending was rushed. I agree with the consensus of the bad editing, the editing here is atrocious and the repeat of Alice's coronation was unnecessary, I felt like that scene shows up in every episode and it would have been more useful to have more of her and Dawin rather than that. Yaya said that the pra'nang's relationship is erotic but I didn't get the sense of that at all. There was barely any feeling of angst and tension either. I think Anne was too focused on making the lakorn big and beautiful that she failed to focus on an equally important aspect, quality in script and plot.
