i heard about tis in the SB thread...but like everyone other Thai fan...it's just heartwarming to see Thai lakorns/ entertainment gainning more popularity..even in the Hmong community Thai lakorns are about as popular or even more than Korean dramas now and I'm very glad...eheheeh...esp. wen it comes to my Ken...though i hope the Chinese fans know that he's marrie...or some of them might suffer from a heartbreak like my cousing Lily...ehehe  ..

I grew up watching Thai dramas..and I tink it kinda alwaise had stuck with me...i kinda shine away from it from like 2001-2004...bu came back in full craze....there's just someting about thai drama....keeps you watching...eheheh

fun4fun...i agree for a lot of new fans Oum Ruk was they're very first Thai lakorn or the one tat they like...i tink the setting/ storyline / characters are easier for every ethnicity to digest...other lakorns...esp. boran or period lakorns might be a bit more difficult...

but tat rating thing you were talking about...ah i never thought about tat...funnie Sawan Bieng doesn't pass it...ehehe...anyway i hope you and the other chinese fans continue to support Thai entertainment...

Some country just dont' allow those r part to be shown. like ppl have debate before, it's inappropriate and it would be wrong to have them shown too. -- dont' get me wrong. i'm a fan or 3 r lakorn but sometime, those scene is a bit extreme to have it publish outside of thailand. it, in a way, make things worst than they are within thailand.

regardless. i'm happy that my p'ek are popular in china as well as my n'ek .. i saw this news posted in jlr thread. there are quite a few chinese fans in clubatichart too.

thank you very much for sharing this with us. like everyone here, let's hope thai ppl continue to make more prosperous lakorn and try to substitute willing over r ja. -- for me. i dont' care, if it goes with the plot, go for it, if it's unnecessary, don't add it .. too bad, jlr have it fulfilled, otherwise, it would had been shown in china tv too .. but what the heck, it's the best of the best --- watching online is good. :p

noticed that most of them are ch3 actors/actress. i didnt' see ch7 yet :( nvm, there's exact too.

Just plain obsessed
well said there raymond! you had said it all and even better of what i wanted to say.

Yeap i'm a fan of both tvb and thai lakorns too and i grew up watcing them both too. and even now i still get switch between those two, when there's not good thai lakorns that i want to watch then i'll go to get some good tvb series to watch, but recently the new tvb seriese aren't that good as they used to be at all, i liked the good old series and the actors too, except raymond the new actor that i like. right now i'm rewatching the Return of the Condor Heroes which star Andy lau (yang gor and siv long ni).

i was born in Cambodia but our family is chinese blooded, so yeah entertainment is different to politic issue. i talked to my sister in Cambodia the other day and i told her about what thai lakorn i was watching but then she asked me, did i know about the issue of thailand want to take over the temple of Preah Vihear? i told her to get some thai lakorns for me over there becuase they are cheaper, but she said that she was afraid that other khmer people will look at her thinking that she still love thai by going over to purchase their lakorns, and i told her that i don't care about what those goverments are doing, it just an entertaiment, as long as my actors and actress are having lakorns for me to watch, i'll watch them, this political issues have nothing to do with thai actors and actress and their lakorns, why everyone hate everything about the country just because of those political issues which those citizhen have no control over?

anyway back to the topic, yeah i think it should be the time for thai lakorns to get popular esp over asia, i remembered that thai lakorns was so popular in Camboida back 6-7 years ago when i was still in the country, it was like all every single house turned on watching thai lakorns every night and it will be the talk of the town the next morning, it was like thai lakorns had completely took over the whole country until the issue came with thai saying that the Angkor Wat belong to Thailand that khmer people became so angry and even burn down the thai embassy there, and all the thai tv or program had been banned since then. Now it's like another one is firing up again, but hopefully it will be over soon and everything should be fine. So that when i return to visit Cambodia i can watch thai drama there and get to buy the good ones that i want to buy lol...............
It's a good thing peole think I'm Mexican all the time, I can be incognito and buy those Thai lakorns, and just have them stare at me cuz I'm a tourist buying Thai stuff...but I plan to go to Thailand to get my Thai stuff, even if I have to go without my mom.

It's funny, cuz I'll walk into Khmer stores in Long Beach, and they'll start speaking English to me, until I say something in Khmer, they'll be like, "You're Khmer?"

ceci is correct about the 'r' scene(s) especially the united states. but to me, i dont really care about those 'r' scenes, i wouldnt careless if they threw in 'r' scenes but i rather have a willing. notice that thai movies and lakorns are totally different. :loool:

i thought that though cambodia had the right to be mad, burning the thai embassy was not the answer. wasn't it pointed toward kob s who claimed that ankor wat belongs to thailand. i cant remember if it was true or not but that was a big controversy between the two country.

overall i am just glad that thai lakorns interest other country (well i was born in the united states)

and i am pretty sure oum ruk was the very first lakorn ever subbed and successful. like i mention early the start of everything.

wow...i'm really glad to hear about this...
and lakorns are getting popular in China...
very cool....
hmmm...i read about the censoring thing in China television because of the rape and stuff....but usually, in lakorns they don't do the whole rape (ripping clothes off and etc)...anyways, i'm glad that Thai lakorns are getting recognized in China....especially all the hot and pretty actors and actresses....well, youtube always have them lakorns on so it's good to go on youtube every time you want to watch since China television doesn't cast Thai lakorn that often....

oh yeah i forgot to ask...since us fans of thai lakorns are pretty much exposed to "r" scenes in like almost every lakorns, i'm just wondering how the chinese fans take it because i don't think i've seen any chinese/korean dramas that have "r" scenes....

Wow,
Firstly we have a litte surprise when have seen this scenes .
Although we often see "rape" scenes in love story,But few say it in lakorn.
The End ,Much of us consider it lovely......

Another, some chinese girl reply her viewpoint that feel un-comfortable for this scenes .
Because Kawee although very handsome and sexy,But "rape" is disrespect for woman.
Woman shouldn't be loved a person who raped her ever.

i totally get what you're saying...at first (when i was younger and even at times today) i didn't think the "r" scenes were that disturbing because it's a lakorn after all and it's supposed to be dramatic and stuffs....but if i look at it very closely and examine through the big picture, it is a disrespect for women showing women are weak and sex is what gets to them....and now that that analysis is stuck in my head, sometimes i feel that willing scenes are much preferred....BUT THEN AGAIN IT IS A LAKORN "THAI STYLE" SO MANY OF US CONSIDERED IT "ROMANTIC" IN A WAY...SORTA LIKE "HURRY UP AND "R" HER AND MAKE UP AND FALL IN LOVE AND ETC.....WHICH ENDS WITH A BABY :D "

^muahah. skies, you cracked me up .. ''SORTA LIKE "HURRY UP AND "R" HER AND MAKE UP AND FALL IN LOVE AND ETC.....WHICH ENDS WITH A BABY"
ever since seeing repetitive r .. it got very disturbing .. i take willing over r anytime soon .. thank god. Suparb Burut Satan have WILLING over R -- especially being a revenge lakorn Lol

Funfun, i have not watch ch7 lakorn for quite awhile so i didn't pay attention to who sub what for the lakorn i didn't care much .. but like you, i think RR would be a good one to sub .. i was crazy over it when it air .. it did have the good scripting to it. feisty n'ek too .. plus, paul was not as annoying as he is now :loool:

I think that was the latest of Paul's lakorn I have seen. The one with Namfon, I'll get there not now, my new obsession after, Phom Ruk Roy Adeed, Badarn Jai and Sawan Bieng is Gae Roy Ruk. Jam Luey Ruk is still hot too in my list. ch7 I am actually tuning back after a long while but right now, not much. Ch3 is still firing like crazy!

It's very true...Kob did start the whole thing with that, that she's banned and hated by most Cambodians...for me, if she wants to say that, it's her business, but I still like her as an actress. You don't have to like someone to admire their work...there are plenty of actors here that I don't like because of the kind of person they are, but I still like to watch them.

Heyyy! I lurked a bit in that tianya topic before~ :p

Lakorns are quite popular nowadays in China, according to what I have seen on a few popular Chinese forums. And the demand for subs is so great that YYCAF (a Chinese subbing group) has decided to start subbing lakorns!

^_^
