Chapter Five
After school - Tutoring hours.
Ann waited at the desk impatiently for her tutor to arrive. "This person better be here in 2 minutes or else I'm out of here." She mumbles while filing her nails. She could not afford to fail calculus, even though she was on the verge of it, especially at the cost of not graduating with her friends. And no graduation means no fun in the sun afterward. Her parents had already bought her tickets to a week of fun in the sun on an exotic island as a graduation gift. So therefore, she will have to suck it up for the time being even though, she rather be at the mall shopping to her heart desires with her friends.
"Sorry." He mumbles as he sat down next to her quickly opening his book. "I was busy talking to my history teacher."
Ann put down her filer and stare at this geeky guy whose glass look century thick. "Not a problem. Let's get started."
"What do you need help with? By the way, my name is Aum." His nervous eyes gaze through his lenses looking at her soft adorable face. She look even cuter close up. Aum try to calm his heart beating rapidly in his chest.
Ann turn to the chapter. "You can call me Ann… and it's all of this nonsense…"She shove the textbook to him without taking her eyes from it.
Aum direct his eyes from her face to the page. "Oh, this is easy. There's a method to doing it."
"Really?" Ann face light up. This is good. As soon as she pass her next exam, she won't need this dork guy help any more. It was already embarrassing for Hi so princess needing help considering the academy is for the rich and famous. Money was everything to this place.
After 6 weeks of tutoring, Aum and Ann have clearly become comfortable with one another. They were always laughing and teasing. Prom day arrived. After hearing rumors Ann and Billy officially broke up in weeks leading to prom, he muster the courage to ask and amazingly happy she accepted to be his date. He select his finest car, the red mercedez convertible with the top down, to meet her at the hotel where prom was held at. Aum picked out the finest tuxedo to try and cover his scrawny body and had his chin length hair trim but he couldn't get rid of the glasses nor the braces. "Hopefully she doesn't mind." He check himself once more in the mirror before pulling up for valet parking. Once he step out, he immediately spot her in a dazzling burgundy long dress standing by the front door probably waiting for him. His heart overbearing with joy...little did she know, he also has the biggest crush on her. As he approach Ann, sweat started to form.
"Hi Ann." Aum said as his eyes travel from her head down to her toe. "You look beautiful." His hands start to tremble.
"Thanks." She reply. "And... well... you look fine yourself."
Aum was about to hand over the orchids bouquet, her favorite from the information he gathered in the weeks in their tutor session, when Billy came out no where and snatch it out of his hand. "Is this for Ann, you geek?"
He watch Billy in disbelief as he pull Ann against him and kiss her passionately on the lips. "Sorry. " Ann turn to look at him in the eyes and smile cheerfully. " I forgot to mention, me and Billy made up last night."
His ears ringed with her boyfriend laughs. I should go to my car and get the hell out of here but I can seem to command my legs to move!! Move dammit!! "Thanks for the flowers but Ann won't need it. She already got three dozens at her house and another dozen in the car." Billy said before turning around and heading back inside the hotel muttering something he could hear and remember. "Did he even check himself in the mirror before coming here? And to think of even walking beside a princess like you... he better go back and date geek girls like himself..." Aum watch in horror as Billy toss the orchids in the nearby trash bin. Ann played him. Big time.

The yearbook lay open across his lap as he stare at her picture. Weeks later, rumor started to surface that Billy wanted to make a pathetic fool out him and Ann choose to play along. Rage started to fill his heart while the temperature of his blood rise significantly. He threw the year book across the room remembering that terrible night like it was yesterday. Aum put on his gloves and walk toward his work out room. Instantly, he start throwing punches to the punching bag. His punches became aggressive every time her face clouded his mind. "I will make you pay!" He roar as sweats drip down his face and his breathing become heavy continue punching endlessly.
Ann and Sue waited in front of the hotel.
"Here's your passport." Sue hand it to Ann and roll her eyes. How the heck did she get so lucky to travel on her first full day on the job?
"Thanks." Ann tuck the passport in her small bag. They were only going to stay in Hong Kong for three days. For two weeks straight, she had trained with Sue. She pray she would not fail on her first day as Sue had put it.."this meeting is very important."
"Remember what i say? When you're on these foreign business trips. you will attend to boss every requests and demand." She tried to scare Ann. "You will become his slave, let's put it that way."
"No wonder you like this job so much." Ann mutter only for herself to hear but evidently, Sue heard it too.
"Hey!" Sue glared at her. "You better watch yourself."
Ann bite her tongue. She shouldn't get into a confrontation with Sue so soon. She might still need Sue's help later.
Both watch a black limo pulled in front of them and then, boss walk through the front door towards them with a happy smile on his face. Sue put on her beautiful smile, "good morning boss, the limo is here."
"Ready Ann? he ask as he slip the black sunglasses on to shield the sun.
Ann nod. "Yes."
Sue watch the both of them slip into the limo while her inside filled with jealousy. He didn't pay her any attention or even bother to say good morning back!!
It's getting exciting. I hope Sue doesn't feel the need to be mean to Ann just cause he hired her now.
