I don't live in Thailand but this is what I've read or heard.I wonder why are the ratings low ? I mean it is not as if it's bad !
Thank you for your explaination. The cultural part of this lakorn is one of reasons that make me love Roy Mai -first part of episode 8 was absolutely great ! I even state confidendly that this year, this is the only lakorn when the interactions between the lead don't feel simplistic. The writing and the acting are absolutely great. But I think the would be PERFECT to if the different love storylines were well developed -namely Rerin/Siriwong- especially when one know only 7 episodes are left. I fear it will be rushed. Just less Bua Nguern scenes and more Maneerin/Siriwong/Siriwattana scenes with little prince/princess already dating and Siriwattana being more and more aware of their relationship.I don't live in Thailand but this is what I've read or heard.
Thai audiences love to watch ACTION lakorns; not the sophisticated James Bond type, but the country side/rural type.
They like to watch lakorns with slaps/kisses, r scenes, willing scenes, baby, etc.
They like to watch romantic/comedy.
They like to watch multiple couples pairing in one lakorn (it seems like a trend like now).
Roy Mai has none of the above; furthermore, it was a period and Boran? lakorn. even some Thai people said that they had hard time understand the dialect spoken in roy Mai.
However, I applauded P'Off and P' Daeng for not following the trend; I appreciated them for doing this lakorn, for their dedication to details and extensive research to bring us the cultural and historical beauty of Lanna/Chiang Mai?
The fact that Wishboniko decided to sub Roy Mai spoke a volume. She could just sub the lakorns that would appeal to more audiences with high ratings, but then it would be just another typical lakorns. I really appreciated Wishboniko for subbing so many good lakorns for non-thai to enjoy.
Well as Rin told Suriya before that Thanin is good at being fake and two faced. You can see the way he acts with the mom is being overly sweet. The mom probably is blinded by his so called "goodness"Watching ep.7 with English subs and I'm starting to wonder what is up with Rerin's mom. Just from the conversations she has with Thanin makes me feel that she loves, cares and trusts Thanin more than her own daughter. I don't get it. It's like Thanin's her own son or something. She chooses to believe in Thanin's lies than have faith in Rerin.
Here's some more written by the talent Mae Sarn for ATEAM during JLR fever :wub:I just love all the scence of Princess Maneerin and Prince Siriwong together. Great chemistry. Thanks to all those that provided the MV, clips, and summary. This lakorn really show rich beauty of Northern Thailand. Loving it!
Oh gosh I wish they would date in real life just to see if its meant to be or not. If it's not then I will give up on real life love between them...lol...come on P'Aum and P'Aff. I just can't believe P'Aum never put a move on her so what if she/he is dating someone else...hahaha. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed to have it come true one day.
I have an account on ATEAM forum but can't seem to find all the fiction about them. HELLLP! someone
Yes She explained that at episode 6? If I am not wrong. About the image Cupid posted I don't think this scene will happen at episode 9 !Well as Rin told Suriya before that Thanin is good at being fake and two faced.
